Sexuality: Bisexual. Because she is not often spoken to, she often misconstrues a continuous show of friendship as romantic or flirtatious intentions. She usually does not act on these "hints," however.

Likes: Music is love, music is life. Reading. Writing. Cats. More writing.

Dislikes: Extraneous work, sweating, "drama."

Common clothing: Obviously, stylish wear is not readily available when the majority of the population is dead. Ideally, she dresses androgynously, wearing collared shirts and skinny jeans, but under current circumstances, she has no objections against wearing whatever she can get her hands on.

Personality (long, descriptive): Where to start, where to start? Kay does not feel the need for human contact like most people do; because of growing up with a stutter and vowing to speak as little as possible at the age of thirteen, she has learned to be dependent on herself and herself only. Whether she craves socialization on a constant subconscious level, denying its existence, or could live in apathetic solitude for months, Kay always prefers to work by herself rather than in groups. On the rare occasion she speaks, she does so in a concise and verbose manner, with an expression that is either blank or pensive. She rarely gets emotional and often carries a placid countenance, as being angry or sad only makes her stutter reappear.
She does not stutter unless she is in a stressful situation (involving sadness, anger, excitement, etc). It seems that she lives in another world, not really experiencing what is around her and never looking people in the eye. It seems as though she speaks to herself when addressed.
You'll often find her holed up somewhere writing about something or other. Even when she does not have a notebook in hand, she often narrates in her head.

Appearance (long, descriptive): Red, red, red. Ubiquitous red. Her hair is cherry-colored, though brown roots are visible from months without dying it, because where can a girl get spontaneously red hair dye during an apocalypse? Her nose is pierced, and when she isn't wearing her last stick of crimson lipstick (which she uses sparingly to conserve it), her lips are as pale as her skin. She is tall, has a few freckles, and has small feet. Because she cannot fight for herself, what with her small frame and all, she keeps her nails long and her wits sharp, more to fend of other humans that may want to steal her things (or her) away than the zombies that roam the streets.
She owes her survival until now on her skeptical nature regarding large groups of survivors. She is generally apathetic, but can be sympathetic if the situation is dire.
Although she is quiet, she is not necessarily shy, and will jump into a conversation if it concerns one of the many social topics she is passionate about.
Basically, she expended her last f*ck to be given when the local bookstore was overrun. (Haha.)

Family/History: With a blonde mother and a father whose hair grayed too early in life, Kay was raised as an only child. Attending a catholic school through the fifth grade and being in the nightly company of her religious parents branded a fear of hell into her; although she does not believe in a God, she finds it hard to admit that to even herself.
She spent her college years taking classes and waitress during the day and taking med classes at night. The apocalypse swung into full swing in the middle of her college career, and because she attended college across the country from her hometown, she does not know the current situation that her parents are in. Since the apocalypse, she has taken refuge in any abandoned, vacant building with lockable doors and windows, taking canned food out of lifeless grocery stores.

Important facts/other: She was born with a stutter that appears when she is in emotional circumstances.

Job: A job in a zombie apocalypse? Ha! Zombies do not review writing submissions. Kay studied creative writing and journalism in high school, with business as the common back-up, and has a common knowledge of medicines from night classes, which she started taking once the unreliability of a writing career hit her. (Wow. I just realized this meant her position in zombie defense. Haha.) She is a healer, which can be used as a dynamic plot device later when she cannot ask for or advise on proper medications in a possible future attack because of the sporadic appearances of her stutter.
