[size=8]Eaglewhisker gave it some consideration after nodding in agreement. Lapwings were quite good, but he had to admit, a lot of the time he found them a little too salty. "Sparrows. I'm a traditionalist." the brown and white tom flashed a grin and took a bite of thrush. Emboldened by the rich taste of the meat, he swished his tail to the side and attempted to wrap it around her hindquarters. [b]"Favorite thing to do in your spare time?"

[size=8]Eaglewhisker fought the urge to do a little hop and a skip and instead purred and added a layer of moss to her nest. "That sounds good." he set to work adding feathers, plumping up the gradually-forming nest. [b]"How many feathers do you want? Sometimes I add too many and they tickle my nose in my sleep."
-
[size=8]"Very good." Eaglewhisker responded succinctly, giving a lash of his tail to indicate his readiness to leave. However, he wouldn't do Silvereyes the disrespect of leaving before the patrol leader - and, indeed, the deputy of SkyClan. Well, he viewed it as disrespectful. It was just his opinion. The bicolored cat nodded briefly to Thrushpaw, genuinely glad to see her despite the suffocating heat.
-
[size=8]Lichenpaw had given up on the minnows and turned round to face the people complimenting one of the many unfamiliar faces; an eye-catching silver she-cat who reminded him at once of the fish he'd been failing to catch. He grinned bashfully. "Yeah, I can't get 'em." the flame point tilted his head to the side. "Hey, what's your name? I'm Lichenpaw!" the way he subtly emphasized '-paw' and puffed out his chest, combined with the lingering hints of kitten-fluff on his belly and tail and overall youthfulness, made it clear that he had only very recently become an apprentice. Blue eyes drifted over the rest of the RiverClanners and he gave them all cheery smiles, inquiring, [b]"Who are you all?"
-
[size=8]Lichenpaw was on the shore in a flash, scrambling up next to the long-legged seal point and gave a small groan of relief. "Thank goodness she's gone! I was getting really tired staying in the water." indeed - at only six moons, he had little to no stamina built up yet. [b]"Who are you?"
-
[size=8]It was a little concerning to him how many of his Clanmates he didn't recognize; he was only six moons old and while he was familiar with his family and the other queens and kits, the warriors and apprentices he'd admired from afar were all vague faces and pelts without names. Now that he was an apprentice himself, though, it was time to see the territory and meet his Clanmates. "Hi!" called Lichenpaw enthusiastically, leaping up on a mossy stone and beamed out at the silver figure in the river. At least he recognized the brown-and-cream tom; he waved.
-
[size=8]"Lichenpaw!" he declared happily, thin tail waving about his head. He was proud of his name; he thought that lichen was a cool word and he liked to spot it whenever he left camp. Though he often wondered why his mother had named him after it, it was part of him now, and he wouldn't dream of changing it. Currently, however, his mind was fixed on her name - Charlotte? "Sharlet?" he repeated, a frown coming over his face. "What's a Shar? You don't look like a warrior! You should be Sharpaw!" he had just finished speaking to the marbled silver tabby when Minnowpaw spoke up. He giggled, both at her compliment and at her perfect name. "I like your name! It's fitting!"
-
[size=8]He was working on a few finishes touches along his forelegs when Lavenderpaw dropped down near him. He lifted his head and gave a cheerful purr. "Hiya! We haven't met, I don't think. I'm Lichenpaw!" he enjoyed meeting new people; he'd always been a social kit. So much so, in fact, that his mom would call him Mr. Butterfly. Wrapping his tail around his freshly groomed paws, he was about to ask her name when a very tall cream and chocolate tomcat appeared. [b]"Sure! It's nice out; everyone's welcome!"
-
[size=8]Eaglewhisker gave Pollenpaw a nod and followed gratefully after Silvereyes, following her ascent into the trees with well-timed leaps; his claws scraped satisfyingly against the bark and even though he was even hotter now that he was exerting himself he relished the exercise.
-
[size=8]Lichenpaw is a male apprentice, and he is mentored by Quietlark.
-
[size=8]That was a cool name, although it did make him wonder why the lark was being quiet. He was about to introduce himself, but the seal point continued talking and Lichenpaw gave a wide grin. "Heh. Okay." curiosity about this tall new warrior gripped him and he trotted after him in pursuit, tail waving. [b]"My name is Lichenpaw! How long have you been a warrior? I've just been made an apprentice."
-
[size=8]Ohhh, well, that made sense. "Ohh. Maybe she should be Charlottepaw?" that would work, right? It was just unheard of to the young color point to not have a traditional name. He picked a flea from his shoulder and then asked, [b]"Do you think my name is fitting? Do you like it? I like it. Lichenpaw is an awesome name. I wonder what my warrior name will be...Lichenclaw! Lichenstrike! Lichenleap!"
-
[size=8]Not even the heat could keep him grumpy with Sealspots around. He cracked a grin, even though his eyes showed his discomfort. "I'm fluffy. It's hot. I work better in the winter." he shook his head, wriggled his hips in a surprisingly saucy gesture, and sprang to the next tree.
-
[size=8]"I suffered more than they did! And, beside, I get stepped on often enough to limit my sympathy." he laughed as he added a last few feathers, then gestured. There was just enough to add some padding, but not so many that they overwhelmed the moss. "About that many. Is that satisfactory, my dear?" so what if he was being bold? They were making nests together!
-
[size=8]"No room for me?" Eaglewhisker's tone was gentle and quite hopeful as he moved towards Sealspots, attempting to brush his tail under her chin in a familiar greeting. She'd said three or four cats, and if he joined he'd be pushing it to five. He supposed it would be fine if he didn't go, but it would be nice; they had grown close so swiftly, and they'd done it on patrols like this one.
-
[size=8]He relished their contact and indeed attempted to press against her, strongly, purrs erupting from his chest. "You're such a...a...RiverClanner!" Eaglewhisker laughed - he didn't mind her response, he just thought it was funny. The brown and white tom decided to roll the dice; he turned his head and tried to nuzzle her, his pelt prickling with surprise and enthusiasm at his own daring.
-
[size=8]The dark-eyed tom could tell by her body language that she was appalled by her use of sweetie. Eaglewhisker gave a little chuckle and aimed to rasp his tongue over her ear several times. "I like it....although 'meanie' might be more accurate. You bring out the best in me; usually I'm quite...severe." Sweetberry's contribution was greatly appreciated and he gave her a thankful nod. [b]"Much obliged. Let me know if you ever need a favor!"
-
[size=8]Ah! His favorite voice. A grin came over his face and the white-bellied tom stopped, dropping down several branches so he could lay out just above her, his tail swishing teasingly around her ears. "Sealspots! Hi~" despite the (uncharacteristic) cheer in his meow, there was a note of uncertainty. They were in a sort of limbo, weren't they? And he was too cautious to fix it. He was debating what to say next when Berrytail showed up. [b]"Oh, hello. You...you know my name's Eaglewhisker, right?"
-
[size=8]Near the front, indeed - being such a new apprentice he had one of the worst nests, very near the entrance of the den. If it weren't greenleaf he knew he'd get gusts of cold air; as it was, his sleep was regularly disturbed by noise and by other apprentices getting up. He was a light sleeper, which was why he woke up the moment his mentor began to speak. "An a-a-a-adventure?" Lichenpaw queried, sitting upright and yawning hugely. [b]"Are we going to start training?!"
-
[size=8]Lichenpaw was disappointed by Ratbreath's attitude, and so stuck out his tongue at her and cast a big grin up at Quietlark as the partially deaf Irish point took a seat beside him. "HI!" he declared loudly, eager to see him. "Do you know her? Who made dirt in her fresh-kill?" the blue-eyed apprentice curled his thin tail over his paws, eyeing her as she ignored everyone else, too. [b]"Why does she go to a public place if she's being so rude?"
