A fox slowly began to close in. The small kit wriggled down a rabbit set, oblivious and nested there.

Kestrelpaw waited outside of the camp for Blackclaw. She wondered if she should go hunting, just for the sake of the clan. It was too tempting. Just by some tall grass was a mouse. Instincivly she dropped into a hunting position, and sneaked up on her prey. With a blur of paws and a flash of claws the mouse was now on the floor. She picked up the freshkill and dropped it in the pile. She flicked her tail inpatiently.

(don't mind me just come here to stalk falcon to click her pets)

She waited around for what seemed like moons for her. Kestrelpaw sighed and went into the forest. There was a smell that...wasn't quite right...an eerie presence that seemed to linger in the air. Kestrelpaw shook her head.
Gosh, Kestrelpaw you're just acting like a kit... She told herself over and over.
But her instincts told her otherwise. Her fur stood up and she felt like someone, somewhere was watching her.

The trip back to camp was uneventful. The camp was almost empty. Slinkfoot dumped the bag in the freshkill pile, but hid his bacon behind a pipe by one of the boras. When he headed back out, he heard strange sounds coming from a building. Lights were flashing and twolegs were jumping. The sight scared him a little, but he moved on. The smoggerpath was full of traffic. Slinkfoot wasn't sure if he wanted to slink under a smogger or not.

The kit mewed and mewed and mewed and mewed. The cold or the fox (now digging) were going to kill it soon. But even then the kit was in danger of starving to death.

The kit scrambled up the badger set. The earth that had been dug by the fox made it impossible for the grey kitten to escape. He began to wail quietly.

Kestrelpaw heard a a thud (all cats have hearing like that) and turned around. She hissed and pawed out.

Trek pecked out of his shell. His feathers were white, unlike his mother and father. Speaking of them, his father swooped down. He heard his brother and sisters chirps as they nipped bits off the rabbit. Trek was still hungry, so he ate his eggshell.
