Zero slouched in his chair. He was the only one in the room since he never brought his stuff to class. He perked up when he heard a voice. A voice he'd hadn't heard before. He strained his neck to see who it was.

He squirmed. "Well, I also have no one. My dad's an idiot and my mom is almost never home. So when I found someone like me, I took the chance and made them my friend."

He shrugged. "Most of the time."

He banged his locker when it refused to open and cursed again. "Forget it! Science homework can wait!"
