The shy apprentice stiffened as Silverclaw brushed past him on the way to the camp entrance before bouncing up to his paws and bounding after the handsome warrior. Scorchpaw's dark amber eyes flicked to his mentor for a second, hoping that Greenlight would soon follow after. One thing that the smoky-furred feline could not do was carry a conversation without awkwardness, except around those he trusted enough. Scorchpaw was on Silverclaw's heels, long legs useful at least for running. "Uh, um, Silverclaw...? Where should I, um, hunt?"

nyra, here's my post from earlier c:

I will make the form for Ivyblaze later.

Scorchpaw flicked his ear as the tall silver tom mentioned something about 'loosening up' and 'not saying 'um'. His dark amber gaze fell to his paws almost instantly, skin burning under his smoky fur. "Um, okay!" he replied quickly, cursing in his mind as he said 'um' yet again. Deciding to just start hunting at this point, Scorchpaw watched Silverclaw's lengthy tail flick towards the entwined roots of a huge tree. The black smoke could easily hear the chittering of small prey, and a few bird calls high up in the branches. Not too bad. He crouched low to the ground, hoping that his tail didn't brush over the ground. Scorchpaw slinked to the side of the tree, soft belly brushing against the damp ground a few times.

A flicker of movement caught the tom's attention. Just ahead sat a plump rabbit, light brown fur camouflaged amazingly in the darker parts of the tree's shadow. Scorchpaw hesitantly took a few pawsteps closer, now only a fox length away from the lagomorph. Rabbits were much faster than cats - if he wasn't close enough, the prey would be lost. The apprentice narrowed his bright amber gaze, claws digging into the ground before he propelled himself from the undergrowth, claws extended to sink into the rabbit's flank. Only, his claws just scraped the prey's sides. Racing after it, Scorchpaw and the rabbit were unknowingly headed right to Silverclaw.

Flicking the length of his tail as Sunpaw muttered out an answer, Thrushpath couldn't help but feel even worse. "We'll train some other day, okay? Maybe even with -" He was interrupted as Goldenstar approached him, asking for him to send out patrols and help Gracefulbreeze with the herbs. Brushing his tail on Sunpaw's flank apologetically before turning away, the slim brown tabby nodded. "Sure thing, Goldenstar! Who should I send to help Gracefulbreeze?" The patrols were easy, but the tom wasn't sure who to send out to MoonClan. "Would Coldflash and Reverywind work? I'll hunt with the apprentices if that's okay."

"Willowpaw, Quickpaw, Mistpaw, Sunpaw, Darkpaw, and Finchpaw! I'm hunting with you all. Sundance, Eagletalon, Raincloud, and Leapspirit, try hunting near the Prairie! Pineclaw, Oneflight, and Pumpkinsight, try around Emerald Pond. Stay away if the water is too high."

//thanks c: also, crappy post because no muse :c

Badgerpaw gave a growl as the light rain pattered down on his ears. The large black-and-white tom scraped his paws into the ground.

Brightpaw glanced at her brother briefly, then back at her sister, Smallpaw. The sickly white she-cat was curled tightly at the edges of camp, blue eyes gazing emptily at the center of camp.

Thrushpath held back a snicker when Willowpaw chomped on Mistpaw's paw, but shot a disapproving slash amused flance at her. The dark brown taby's attention was soon grabbed by the appearance of Gracefulbreeze. A huge beech bundle was stuffed in her maw, and the deputy knew that herbs were tucked safely among the leaves. Bluemist suddenly appeared in Thrushpath's peripheral view. She didn't have a patrol to join. "Blue ist, can you help me wrangle the apprentices?" That would mean there would be six apprentices and two warriors on his patrol, leaving enough to guard camp, hopefully.

The tom heaved a tired sigh, but his sunbaked optics still retained that glint of energy and mischievousness. "Let's go, all of you!" Thrushpath began to pace to the exit, but then slowed down just in case Goldenstar wanted to speak to him again.
