I'm gonna keep this short because I don't know about you, but I have better things to be doing that giving you some exponential nonsense about the history of this place. It's really not that interesting.
So first off my name's Drosera and I couldn't care less who you were but apparently you're planning on attending this hell-hole so I've been given the highly fought-over task of announcing to the newbies what this place is all about.
So here goes nothing, right?

This academy was started up by four sisters, basically. Humanoid forms of four carnivorous beings.
They were called Nepenthes, Atrax, Myrmeleo, and Dioneae, and each of them gave rise to their four respective carnivorous beings.
Nepenthes, to the pitcher plants of the genus Nepenthesia.
Atrax, to the venomous arachnids of the genus Atrax.
Myrmeleo, to the ant-lions of the genus Myrmeleontidae.
Dioneae, to the carnivorous plant genus Dioneae, and to the single plant within that genus, Dioneae muscipula.

Some old fools borne of their legacies thought it'd be a good idea to start up an academy designed to house and care for their descendants. Or at least, that's what it was originally.
It kinda turned into a free-for-all over the centuries.
Now you see people of every genus and species possible, you even get some really fantastical creatures turning up from time to time, so that's always fun.
You might have noticed, if you're particularly interested in that sort of thing, as I am (I mean, what else am I gonna do with my time except learn about my family?) that I told you my name was Drosera, and if you know what that means that first of all points to you, and second, that's the name of my genus.
What, you didn't think I was gonna tell you my name right off the bat? You could be anybody!

My full title is Drosera indica, but my name's Ranmaru.

1 - Students are forbidden from consuming other students; the appropriate nutrition will be supplied by the school cafeteria service. Regardless of species or creature type, this rule is inflexible.
2 - Students are forbidden from wandering the halls after hours. School hours run from 06:00 hours to 22:00 hours, and students caught roaming the halls after hours will be appropriately punished.
3 - Students will not under any circumstances disrespect a peer. Your elders are there to be listened to and to educate you, do not abuse their compassion.
4 - Students are required by protocol to always wear their year badges. Failure to do so will result in an appropriate punishment according to the student's past history with failing to comply to school rules.
