[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Looks it," said Rikki in reply to Butterflykit. She glanced at the potato with a look of vague disgust on her face. To her, vegetables were the root of all evil.

pun intended

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Sketchcub. Rikki made a mental note of the cub's name and smiled brightly. "Well, welcome back, I suppose. Where'd you go?"

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Rikki knew this wasn't a joke, or even remotely funny, but a grin crept onto her face as she heard the yells. Something interesting was happening! Not wishing to miss the action, the fawn calico snaked over, the putrid scent of the enemies filling her nose. Yuck. Unsheathing her thin, prickly claws, she looked around for an opponent with shining eyes.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Something weird had happened. Rikki had grown gills. It had started the day before; a dull aching in her neck, like someone small was standing on it. It had grown and grown, until night, when it had ceased suddenly. Deciding it was nothing, the fawn calico had gone to bed as usual.

Now in the morning, she was, as she did sometimes, swimming. It was high-tide, and the water was calm and salty. She was attempting to hook a fish, though they were rather small and fast. She dived under, cringing at the water that stung her eyes, and trying to see. Accidentally taking in a mouthful of water, the cat was beyond surprised to find that instead of almost making her sick, the salt water felt like a breath of air.

Not so much in shock as curious, she swam further, a light shape flitting through the water. Sure enough, she could breathe. Dragging herself to the shore, she checked her reflection in a small rock-pool, twisting her head both ways and squinting.

She had gills?

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Taken by surprise, so self-absorbed as she was at that moment, Rikki spun around. Recognizing both of the others, she grinned. "Yeah, fine. Look," she mewed, lifting her head proudly to display her gills to them.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Rikki had gathered a pile of dead leaves and pushed them into a neat pile. Maybe not so neat, but still a pile, in the middle of the village. It towered over her, at least a wolf's height, probably more. The orange and brown colours contrasted surprisingly well with the green grass, and Rikki admired her work proudly.

She then whipped around and trotted a fair distance away, long tail swishing. When she deemed she'd gone far enough she turned back towards the pile and sprinted back. At the last moment she leaped into the air, landing with a most satisfying crunch. She popped her head up, shoot herself down, and began to do it again.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Hey, welcome," purred Rikki with a quick nod, strolling over at leisure. She had been hunting most of the morning, though she hadn't caught anything. So the fawn calico was taking a break, most likely a permanent one, or until she was forced to hunt. She stared at the newcomer for a few moments, looking them up and down, and smiled slightly. "Rikki." The calico introduced herself.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"What've I missed?" asked Rikki, sauntering over and sitting down, oblivious to all previous conversation. She glanced at the others. Rikki didn't know most of them well, but hey, they were clan-mates and she tried to make an effort. She gave her chest a few quick licks and tilted her head.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Bye," said the fawn calico flatly. She didn't know him well, but did wonder why he'd leave. She personally thought that loyalty was important, though not over-emotional, desperate loyalty. No. There were limits. If Leo wanted to leave, however, that was fine by her, unless perhaps it meant extra work.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]rikki had padded over and taken a seat, casually taking in the news. When Felicity mentioned her name, however, a wide grin spread upon her face. A merchant, her? Sounded like a cool job, and she was pleased to have been given such a chance. "Thanks, I'd love to!" she mewed, and sat back to listen again.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Skidding to a halt, Rikki nodded. "Course you can," she mewed. Turning to Killian, she shook her head. "Aw, come on. It's fun." she began to back up again, preparing for her next leap.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]
Track for now, if I think of anything I'll make an event or post it here.
Note: my activity might slow down a little as I'm staying in a hotel at a theme park.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]They lived on an island surrounded by water - well, at high tide anyway. So why not have some fun? Besides, Felicity had given merchants the job of organising events, and Rikki didn't want to fail. She decided to start off with something fairly small, a game. She had lined up on the shore twenty or so peices of thick driftwood. The rest would be explained when the others arrived.

"Hey! Surfing event!"

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Sure. So here's what we do. " she paused, looking at the set up. It occurred to her that she hasn't thought this through very well. "You run and leap onto a surfboard, pushing it out to sea. Whoever gets the furthest wins. "

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Someone died?" asked Rikki lightly, marching over. Her blue gaze soon fell onto the lion cub. She watched him with a small frown, waiting to see whether he'd awaken.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"Did you meet anyone?" Rikki asked curiously. She didn't admit it, even to herself very much, but she wanted to know where her dad was. She'd lost him in a flood after a storm, just before finding TidalClan. She hadn't been thinking much about her past since joining, though, and anyway, Pastelpaw's return was much more interesting. Rikki vaguely remembered her.

Mobile

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Who was he? Rikki didn't recognize him, even as she got closer, and so she assumed he was a joiner or else, lost. The first was most likely, as they tended to get a good few of them, every other day. She narrowed her eyes, remaining silent but curious.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]"What're you?" asked Rikki, keeping her distance. She hadn't ever seen anything like this before, and it scared her a little. She nodded vaguely to the tiger in a sort of greeting and waited for a reply.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]The fawn calico stood back, sitting down and giving her paw a lick. "Rikki," she, too, introduced herself with a nod. "What's your name, then?" Rikki asked.

[fancypost bgcolor=black; bordercolor=transparent; height: 40px; width: 350px; letter-spacing: -2pt]rikki[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; overflow: auto; height: 80px; width: 350px]Karmamagic? It was her? Rikki's frown deepened, and she nodded in agreement with Ruby's questions. "Did you see where the, um, creature went?" she asked. If they were still on the territory, they'd pay for doing this to Karmamagic.
