Bramblepaw couldn't keep her eyes from widening in nervousness at the thought of badgers and foxes. She quickly replaced the expression with one of pride and determination.
"Soon, I'll be able to defeat whatever measly creatures thinks itself worthy enough to cross our borders!" She held her tail high as she said this, wholly believing that she would. Eventually at least.

Back in the camp, Clawstar was laying on the old stump of his den, sunning himself, as there was nothing around the camp to do. The past few days had been uneventful, but now it was just starting to feel boring. Any normal day, he would appreciate the fact that they weren't struggling to keep on top of borders or prey, but at this point, it felt almost too easy.
He stood from his place, shaking the drowsyness of the sun from his pelt and trotted to the medicine den. Perhaps Silverwish had been in contact with Starclan?
Clawstar padded through the narrow opening, suddenly feeling engulfed with the fresh aromas of many different herbs.

((Whoop, sorry about that, accidentally said Swiftwinter instead of Silverwish. ^-^ It's been corrected.))

Clawstar sat down as well, taking a deep breath, not entirely sure if this concern was even worthy of asking about.
"Have you been in contact with Starclan recently? There's no problem or anything," he added quickly, "I just can't help but be suspicious about how quiet it's been recently. We've had no trouble at all from the loners that used to hang out around the border, and even the kittypets in the twolegplace are staying in their nests."
He twitched the tip of his tail nervously, sheathing and unsheathing his claws.
"Do you think there's anything to be concerned about."

Clawstar nodded. "Good idea. It's not as though we have anything pressing to be looking out for at the moment anyway. We can spare the warriors. I'll organize the patrol later."
He stood up, thanking Silverwish as he left the den.

((We have acquired a very limited internet connection from my house so I may be able to check more frequently. See you soon!))

"Soon."Stormpaw nodded with a smile."Until then you'll have to stick with a warrior or an older apprentice. Where do you think the border is?"

Bramblepaw lifted her nose, trying to catch a whiff of anything that might give her a clue as to where the border was. There was stale scent of fox coming from down the small slope, unhelpful. However, upwind she caught traces of cat. The young cat padded forward, away from the edge of the cliff they had just climbed, and pointed her tail in the direction of the scent.
"It smells like other cats over there, so we'd have to have a border right?"

((Oh my god, I'm sorry I didn't reply to that bit sooner, I completely forgot it was there after making my post as Clawstar.))

Appearance: Dark brown with lighter brown and black stripes down back and tail. Vibrant green eyes. (I have a picture of her on my profile.)
    Name: Brambleface
    Age: 11 moons
    Gender: She-Cat
    Clan: Cinderclan
    Rank: Deputy or warrior.
Bio: Fiercely loyal to her clan and will go to great lengths to protect what she believes to be right. Her greatest ambition is to eventually become leader of her clan.
Other: She was born away from the clan by a male warrior and a rouge female. The female (whom she's never known the name of, nor cared to know) gave birth to her and another (Thrushkit) who died, and then left days later in the middle of the night, leaving her father (Thistlepelt) no choice but to take her back to Cinderclan.

Appearance: Dusty brown with sandy colored chest, paws, and tail. Dark blue eyes.
    Name: Thistlepelt
    Age: 26 moons
    Gender: Tom
    Clan: Cinderclan
    Rank: Senior Warrior
Bio: Never had a particularly strong sense of ambition, and is perfectly content to remain a warrior for the foreseeable future.
Other: At 14 moons, he ran off with a rouge named Leaf. She gave birth to his two kits, Thrushkit and Bramblekit. Thrushkit died of cold, and a few days after, Leaf left in the night. He took Bramblekit with him back to his clan. He was surprised to be accepted again after leaving, and has never since shown any desire to be disloyal to the clan.

Sorry to give you only warriors for Cinderclan, but I do not rp non-forest areas very well.

Below the rocky ridge, a dark, stone colored she-cat stood, blinking her blue eyes to the top of it. She was considering climbing the steep rock-fall to see what was up there, but recently she had passed a strong scent of cats, making her weary. Instead, she backtracked through a bramble bush, leaving a small tuft of fur behind, and began to make her way onward. She had been walking through the tall trees and green plants for what felt like many minutes, before a faint scent of clean water caught her attention, and it only continued to grow stronger. Suddenly, the trees parted in a wide circle. In the middle, there was a large pool of crystal clear water, still as stone. The sight of such an unnaturally circular and pure clearing made the fur on her spine bristle.

OOC: This cat is the rouge that Glacierheart and Nightpaw are close to finding! The clearing that the cat has stumbled into is Thistleclan's way to contact Starclan. The equivalent of the moon pool. In the daylight, this pool looks spectacular, but in the night when the half moon shines on the surface, it seems to glow with the spirits of your warrior ancestors.

Brambleface shifted irritably in her nest. It was far too early for any cat in their right mind to be awake, yet she just couldn't get back to sleep. Quickly, she gave up trying to get comfortable and got up as quietly as she could manage, hoping that her tail didn't accidentally brush anyone's ears. Crawling out from under the thorny entrance to the warrior's den, the Cinderclan deputy fluffed up her fur against to the cold. The sun hadn't quite clawed it's way over the horizon yet, but it was getting there. Then the air would be warmer. She sat down in the center of the clearing, taking a deep breath of the cool, clean, air. Perhaps she would have time to hunt before many other cats woke up, and she would have to organize the dawn patrol.

OOC: I've given a link to this post in my clan! Also, both of my cats are available to be mentors if necessary.

The rouge she-cat jumped, hissing with surprise. She knew she had smelled cats! Why had she continued on in such obvious danger? Quickly, she composed herself, flattening her fur, but pressing her ears to the back of her skull.
"I could ask you the same question."

Bramblepaw hopped off in the direction of the border, excited to have gotten it right. She was happy to leave Stormpaw to marking the border. She really wanted to see the rest of Thistleclan's territory! She'd heard nursery tales that the clan even had ancient tunnels running beneath the clan. Since then of course, Clawstar had deemed them unsafe for cats, but she still wanted to see them. It's just more clan territory that every cat should patrol. Who knows what kind of prey might hide in there?
    Not yet.
She knew she would have to wait. What use would she be if she ran off in the middle of her first border patrol to sniff around some dark, muddy holes?
The dark she-cat was snapped out of her excited thoughts as she was bombarded with the strong scent of Thistleclan. She hadn't even realized she had gotten this far. Looking back, she saw the hill rising up before her. The trees had thinned out, and the clan border was clearly marked along a thick hedge of bramble vines. It hardly looked natural. Perhaps Starclan had gifted them with this wall as protection? Starclan must surely favor them in that case!

The she cat had already assessed the cats confronting her, and had decided that she could probably win a battle with the big one. The kit may be a nuisance however. She sat down calmly in order to appear in control and unafraid, and began to wash herself.
"My name is Stone. Now what was it you wanted again?"

She sniffed and shoved her nose in the air.
"You have no right to determine what I do. You can hardly lay claim to the forest, it's not as though you created it. I have every right to sit here if I wish to."
Her tail wrapped neatly around her paws, as though to emphasize the fact that she was not about to leave.

Stone had difficultly disguising her surprise for a moment.
"Hm. There may be more of you, but where are they? I only see one at the moment. Oh wait, I'm sorry, I forgot to count the kit. Hardly saw it there."

Brambleface looked up from being so deep in thought, suddenly aware that the clan was beginning to wake. She waved her tail in greeting to Owlpaw, and nodded approving at Riseneyes. "Good catch! How's the prey running this morning?"

OOC: Sorry for responding so late. It might be good to note that I don't have internet at home and wont until some time around the 27th of November, so any time I reply, I'm either at school, or at an internet cafe that we go to every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Also, Brambleface is available to mentor if needed.

Suddenly, the grey rouge found herself being attacked by more than one cat. She struggled to free herself, tearing fur out in tufts as she did so. She ducked and swiped at the paws and chests of the cats attacking her, holding her ground as best she could.

Back in the camp, a deep growl formed in the back of Clawstar's throat. He turned to Glacierheart, "Rouges? In our territory?" His tail lashed back and forth and his claws dug into the dry earth as though he were already digging them into the pelts of his enemies.

Immediately at the call, Brambleface turned her head to the highrock where Venomstar stood. She would have to organize morning patrols after the meeting. Standing, she walked calmly a couple of tail-lengths from the base of the stone, and then sat down, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. She wondered what this meeting could be. Possibly appointing a mentor for Owlpaw? She knew he still needed one. Her ears flicked back at the sound of a familiar cat leaving the warrior's den.

Thistlepelt was woken by the call to the highrock. Looking up, he realized many cats were already out in the clearing. He stood, shaking twigs from his pelt. He had been dreaming of his old mate, Leaf. Her light beige body and dark brown paws tail and face had been haunting his dreams lately. He could not for the life of him, figure out why he was thinking of her again after so long. He was suddenly struck by the familiar grief he had felt the night she had left him. He'd sacrificed his life as a warrior for her, and she had abandoned him. All he had left now was Brambleface. His attention was turned back to the present and he remembered the meeting.
Thistlepelt pushed himself out of the warrior's den and sat down next to his daughter. "Good morning Brambleface." He purred. She replied with a similar greeting and then they both fell silent, waiting for the reason of the meeting to be revealed.

OOC: I made that reply yesterday, but the internet at my school had gone out completely. Lucky I saved it. :P

OOC: Hey guys, I'm sorry but how did we get back to camp? Stone's out by the moonpool and to be perfectly honest I have no idea where Knife came from. I had a reason to be by the moonpool anyway, so if we could shift the focus back there that'd be great. Maybe while Nightpaw's busy keeping Stone where she is, Glacierheart gets a patrol?

Brambleface's ears perked up in pleasant surprise as Venomstar expressed that Owlpaw would now be her apprentice. She stood and touched noses with the brown spotted he-cat to accept her position as mentor.

Thistlepelt's tail raised with pride at the fact that his daughter would be taking on another apprentice. She hadn't had one since she'd been appointed deputy. And the gathering! Today seemed like it was going to be a good day. That is, provided the other clan didn't have any grim news to report. He shook his head to clear the unpleasant anxiety and called out with his clanmates. "Owlpaw! Owlpaw!"

OOC: Woo, I'm at school at the moment, and I've gotten an external keyboard, so I don't have to worry about that too much anymore. Sorry about the delay in response it caused!
