Cora turned and padded on for a few fox-lengths, then, when she was sure they wouldn't be overheard, she slowled until she was standing beside Splatter. "I'm not sure what it is... Eagle says she was just running throuhg the forest as usual, and all of a sudden, it was just there... It smells like rottening corpses.." she trailed off unable to explain anymore.

Cora stopped and thought. No. Eagle wasn't hurt, but she wasn't alright, either... "She's okay... I guess. Let's just say she's not in any immideate danger..." I don't think... she added to herself, before shaking her head and padding on.

Kail watched the shivering bushes for what felt like a long time once Splatter left. H e was shaken by the sudden departure of his friend, and the urgency in Cora's voice. Feeling curious and worried, he hurried to catch up, his paws thrumming the ground as he raced after the others. He wanted to know what was happening, but he didn't want to intrude on Splatter's medic matters. He kept low as he followed the She-Wolves scents-trail.
Cora padded onwards, stepping lightly over roots and fallen branches. After what felt like years of awkward silence, they reached a fallen log. Cora stopped. "Don't jump over, go around.' she advised, before turning and trotting around the crooked branches.

Basically; Splatter, Cora, Kail, Eagle and, ehh, idk the other one ((xD)) are out in the forest looking at something Eagle stood in, which tends to smell whatever the wolf who is scenting dislikes the most.))
Cora pushed through the bushes and padded to Eagle, glancing at the she-wolf's hind-paw. The scent of rotten flesh filled her nostrils and she snorted at the stench.
Kail followed his form melting into shadows. Slipping to Splatter's side he looked at Eagle. He froze, horrorfied, at the scent of dung. He looked around frantically, looking for the source, though found none. He turned back to Eagle, his tail accidentally brushing Splatter's leg slightly, and concluded the scent was coming from whatever had attached itself to the she-wolf's leg.

Cora nodded briskly and took the lead as they moved off. She stepped carefully, incase anymore of that foul-smelling substance still lurked the silent forest.
Kail decided the wait was up. He closed his eyes as his form seperated from the shadows and became visible again. He pressed his side against Splatter's, trying to not only comfort her, but also himself. The strange substamce, along with the quietness of the forest, startled him; he had always known the forest to be loud and plentiful, but never so.... devoid of life.

Kail smiled back at Splatter, then followed her slowly. His thoughts raced, and her smile lingered in his head for more heartbeats than he could count. His heart raced as they padded together through the trees. This time it was not because of what wasn't around him, but what was. The she-wolf next to him was beautiful, confident and skilled. He didn't care if there were a thousand other she-wolves in thepack, he would always stand by Splatter, even if she refused to accept that.

Kail turned and gazed into Splatter's eyes. Smiling he continued walking, his thoughts trailing. When the group returned to camp and this whole mystery was solved, he would try to spend as much time as possible with her; either hunting, eating, or just talking.
Cora pushed on, her fur bristling as she thought of what the Substance could have killed during the time the wolves were walking. Her paws itched to run through the forest back to camp, to defend the wolves who still lay there, lazily drowzing.
