    Falconswoop gazed at Rainstar, joy flooding her eyes. "R-really?" she gasped. "Thank you!"

    Fallowkit purred. "Thanks, Rainstar!"

    (I just realized they both start with F XD)

    (I posted in the joining thread that medicine cat was taken, sorry. :) Nothing has happened really... Wolfstar and Mousetail are in love.)

    Fallowpaw hopped in circles. "When can we start? When? When? When?"

    "Soon," Falconswoop promised. "For tonight, rest." She then smiled at Rainstar. "Thank you, Rainstar." Falconswoop nuzzled her.

    ::Welcome to the Medieval Kingdom::
    A long, long time ago, cats lived as the ancient two-legs did during the medieval times. The rulers of these cats lived peacefully and happily, with the knowledge that their villagers were safe. One day, though, a mysterious cat had been kit- and prey-stealing from the small kingdoms. Assuming it was a gypsy or soldier from another kingdom, all the cats broke out in war. Before the rogue was ever found to pay for his crimes, the kingdoms destroyed each other in the vicious battles. The Middle Ages of the cats ended then, and it was believed it would never come back. One of the kits, though, stolen and killed, came to a living cat with a dream. One Medieval Kingdom was to be rebuilt, restoring history.

    ::The Kingdom::

    The site of the new kingdom was a mystery to the cat that’d been visited by the starry kit, but soon the ruins of an old kingdom were found.

    The Castle~ The Royal Family’s castle is right in the center of the kingdom. Formerly used by two-legs in the Dark Ages, it really is gigantic. The King and Queen of the cats sleep in the room that had been the two-leg king and queen’s bedroom, on an old king-sized bed, still with mahogany bedposts and rich red bed curtains, trimmed and swirled with gold, almost in perfect condition. Princesses sleep in the former bedroom of the two-leg princess. There is only one queen-sized bed, but it can fit many cats. It has silvery drapery that is a bit tattered at the bottom, but still nice. Princes sleep in the two-leg prince’s bedroom. There is also only one bed, king-sized, but with many holes on the edges of the mattress and only a few shreds of the old royal blue bed curtain. Pillows are on all the beds as well, soft and down. All the bedrooms are in the back of the house, so they will be last to be destroyed if there is a raid on the castle. The room right in front of all of them, a fairly narrow rectangle that stretches across the entire width of the castle in that section, is the throne room. There are four thrones, red and velvety, in the center of the room, each with a wooden side table beside it. There is a long red carpet, trimmed with gold, which goes under the thrones. Two small steps are in front of the thrones, which are on a platform, and no cat is to climb them without permission. In front of that room are four more rooms- a classic banquet hall, a mysterious room with cushions on the floor, a library, and the entrance rooms. The room with cushions is all empty besides the sitting cushions on the ground, where the slaves who work inside sleep. The other slaves sleep outside in the courtyard. The library walls are the only painted ones in the whole castle, dark red. The curtains covering the windows are heavy, so they’re usually closed, keeping the room dark. The shelves are stocked with books in two-leg language, with two large chairs. The King and Queen teach their kits all their knowledge in the library. The entrance room is empty, but with oddly painted murals on the walls. All of the floors are made of dark gray stone, and the walls are too, with the exception of the library. The entrance to the castle has two doors that are opened and closed with ropes.

    The Shimmering Cave~ The Shimmering Cave is a small, damp stone cave on the edge of the kingdom. Even on the darkest night, it is dimly light by mysterious glowing stalactites and stalagmites. Tiny, precious gems are found on only the rarest occasion, but when they are, cats snatch them up in a heartbeat. Gypsies often come here for the night, but may risk getting sick in the cold, wet cavern. Brush and weeds hide the only entrance to the cave, and not all cats know about it. The Shimmering Cave isn’t anything special, besides the glowing stone. Cats who sleep here just throw together some moss in any open space for the night.

    The Fields~ Farmers and their families live in the Fields to be close to their crops and livestock. The Fields are a large, fertile square-shaped area of soil; about five acres wide in human measurements, so many cats can fit there. Each family gets an area given to him by the Royal Family or a cat that they appoint to do so. The space the family gets depends on the number of cats that will live there, if the cats are growing crops or raising livestock, and anything else that must be taken into consideration. The appointed cat then marks the boundaries of their land with a short stone wall, about one foot tall. To keep plenty of space open for work, the cats living on the Fields built underground chambers, similar to a badger’s den, to live in. The entrances are small, keeping space open. There are no ways to get water besides lugging moss or stone pots to the nearest source of water and dragging it back. Many crops can be grown.

    The Grove~ A small circle of trees- the only trees in a wide open plain right behind the castle- is the Grove. The trees are so close together that it is impossible to squeeze through, and the knights that live there must climb the trees to enter the clear, grassy center. Every cat that moves in there spends days, even weeks, digging a home into the soft bark. They must keep a thick “roof” and “floor” so no cat goes tumbling into the den of a cat below it. Besides the castle, the tree dens in the Grove are the warmest places to sleep, which is why they are reserved for the knights. Behind each tree den, the cat living there pokes a few tiny, unnoticeable holes with a single claw. Unseen from the outside, the cats can watch their surroundings carefully. Even in the winter, when the thick canopy of leaves is gone, the tightly crisscrossed branches keep the snow away.

    The Canyon~ Amidst all the soft, lush greenery in the kingdom is a burnt orange stone canyon, deep and dangerous to travel. This is where the tamers live, sleeping on ledges while their animals live below. Between each cat’s section is a stone wall, one or two feet high, so the cats’ animals are separated but the cats themselves can see each other if in need of help. The walls of the canyon are high, steep, and slippery, so cats rarely climb or descend them. The only time the tamers leave the valley is to take their animals up to sell or show, to buy prey- but only if there is absolutely none in their canyon- and to go out for war, and to ask the King for help or assist him.

    The Village~ Merchants, architects, and retired cats all live in the village, where inhabitants also sleep in badger den-like coves. Small marketplaces are set up, though they’re really just areas merchants have claimed to sell their items. A hot, smoking pool, called the Fire Pool, is in the center. A thorn barrier has been built around it to keep cats out, to avoid possibly fatal burns. Smaller, cool pools are scattered around randomly, along with streams barely deeper than a cats paw. Stone paths cut through the village, leading to the other areas. Kits are often seen bolting along the paths, squealing happily, so it is the responsibility of all Village members to save a lost or injured kit.

    ::Ranks::
    King~ The King is the head of the Royal Family and the kingdom. His word is law, and any cat disobeying him is punished severely. The King makes decisions for the kingdom, leads his cats to war, gives assignments to Knights, makes sure all jobs are going smoothly, and keeps the kingdom safe. He can never retire. (Taken by bibblewdude)

    Queen~ Must be chosen IC! The Queen is the King’s mate. She is required to pretend to agree with him- even if she doesn’t- in public so that the King looks good. She teaches the Princes and Princesses and walks around the kingdom to see if everybody is doing as they should. (Open)

    Main Prince~ The first prince, and heir of the King. His duty is to assist the King, make sure everybody is doing alright in the kingdom, and learn everything he needs to know to become the King in the future. (Open)

    Main Princess~ The first princess, and heir of the Queen. She learns everything she needs to know to become Queen in the future, but spends her days free and happy.

    Princes~ Must be taken from adoption link! These cats do the same as the Main Prince, but are not heir of the King.

    Princesses~ Must be taken from adoption link! These cats do the same as the Main Princess, but are not heir of the Queen.

    Trainers~ The Kingdom has three trainers, who train wild animals for Royalty or any cat who can manage to afford it- but training animals is difficult, and costly. Danger is inevitable when working with wild, trapped beasts. (1/3 taken- bibblewdude, _____________, and __________________)

    Merchants~ Merchants find items for dens, prey for cats who cannot hunt, and other nice items, and trade them for what they need. (Always open!)

    Crop Farmers~ Crop farmers grow crops for trainers and livestock farmers to feed their animals, for the royalty to make feasts, and for other uses that a cat might have. They keep half of what they get for their families. (Always open!)

    Livestock Farmers~ Livestock farmers steal bird eggs and prey animals that are not yet matured. They raise these animals and breed them, keeping some offspring to breed and killing some to sell and eat. They have learned to put stone or thorn barriers under their soil to prevent animals from escaping, and have also learned to trim birds’ wings so they can’t fly away. Some will build a tiny pool in the corner of their land and keep fish there, but most cats don’t have space. (Always open!)

    Gypsies~ Gypsies sleep in the Shimmering Cave or any open space they can get to. They normally have nothing but three or four planks of wood, bound together with vines or ropes, that they hold their belongings on. They put moss and feathers on, to sleep on, their prey, and anything else they own- which isn’t much. The poorest gypsies have to drag their boards themselves, which takes time and energy, but most save up to buy a small goat or lamb to pull it. (Always open!)

    Knights~ Knights are noble, brave cats that are chosen by the King to fight and hunt for the kingdom. They face danger, but are respected and honored. (Always open--- Requested here, but can only be accepted IC)

    Architects~ Cats who build the stone walls and make items out of mud and clay for merchants. (Always open!)

    ::Rules::

    1. All MUST obey the Royal Family, but if the princess, prince, or queen says to do one thing and the king says to do another, obey the king.
    2. Cats who break any rule or disobey royalty are faced with punishment, determined by the King.
    3. No force mating, murdering, or anything like that.
    4. NEVER, EVER steal! Cats work hard to get what they have!
    5. I actually put time into making this, and you should put time into it as well. Inactive cats are banned.
    6. Handle all OOC drama quickly and maturely if it cannot be avoided.
    7. No power-playing or god-modding
    8. If you break three rules, I will ban you.
    9. Read EVERYTHING here!
    10. Use common sense. Many things happen that just shouldn’t happen if people connected their minds.
    11. I have the right to deny you a rank
    12. With writer’s block as the only exception, try to post at least three good, descriptive sentences.
    13. You can start with one “pet” but all others must be gotten IC. Please note that only Royalty and Knights are rich enough for horses.
    14. Don’t be your own mate

    ::Form::

    There is no “Form” and I don’t want you to put anything in a form setup! Write a little paragraph about your character (see mine as examples if you need to) and feel free to add pictures to your heart’s desire!

    ::Currency::

    As of now, all items are obtained with bartering. Cats decide amongst themselves what is and is not a fair trade, but obviously to get something of extremely high quality, such as a trained animal, you must pay well… No trainer would give his or her finest horse for a rotting mouse. Use your brain!

    ::Religion::

    Like in the real Dark Ages, religion is a matter of personal choice, but there is a main religion that most cats convert to. For this kingdom, that is a firm belief in two mighty cats. The “god” of these cats is a giant cat, with the body of a domesticated breed but the size of two lions put together. This giant black cat’s name is Borialus, and his similar-sized, pure white mate is Eponza.

    ::Current Cats::

    KING~
    Spade is the King of the Medieval Kingdom. The shiny, glossy black tom has faded green eyes, deep and mysterious, peering out from his thick coat. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…12/RileyClemmons/king.jpg He currently has no mate, but was once captured by two-legs and force-bred with a kitty-pet, giving him his daughter, Insignia, the main princess. He rides around on a giant, swift, fearsome horse who is barely tame. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…2/RileyClemmons/horse.jpg Firebird, the horse, has finally gotten somewhat used to him, but any other cat trying to get on the horse could- and, most likely, would- be killed. King is assertive and a natural leader. For the most part, cats have respected him for his whole life, so it was easy for him to create his kingdom. Played by bibblewdude

    QUEEN~

    MAIN PRINCE~

    MAIN PRINCESS~
    Insignia is the beautiful daughter of Spade and an unknown mother from the two-leg-place. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…yClemmons/prettykitty.jpg As the first born, and as of the beginning of the kingdom, only kit of Spade, he is overly protective of her and lives for her. He spent moons looking for a horse that would please her, and found a young, gentle, beautiful mare. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…eyClemmons/ashencloud.jpg Ashen Cloud, as she has named the horse, goes everywhere she goes, as the only other animal Insignia has ever layed eyes upon, besides Firebird. Insignia tries to do what will please her father, but in the end, she’s a wild, immature she-cat who doesn’t know anything about the real world, has a strange fascination with the glowing lights in the Shimmering Cave, and wants to be herself for once. PRINCES~

    TRAINERS~
    Ember is a fierce, reserved trainer. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…leyClemmons/orangecat.jpg Cats may fear his temper, but none could say they didn’t admire his courage and skill with animals. He is the one who tamed both Spade and Insignia’s horses, and has worked with many more vicious creatures in his past. He specializes in equines, canines, and birds. Ember trained a wolf once in his lifetime, and because of how deadly it was, he kept the creature for himself. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…12/RileyClemmons/wolf.jpg Shasta, the she-wolf, is fierce and must be kept away from the other animals, so Ember tethered her to a heavy stone, where she lives on a ledge. Played by bibblewdude

    Merchants~
    None

    Gypsies~
    Cavalia is a beautiful she-cat who lives as a gypsy. http://i1254.photobucket.com/a…ileyClemmons/princess.jpg She keeps to herself and travels with her four boards dragged by a pair of goats.http://www.mo.nrcs.usda.gov/news/MOphotogallery/Livestock-Pasture/goats2.jpg She keeps all treasures to herself, so her boards are adorned with gems, gold, and other secret items. A reserved, shy cat, she hates sleeping in the cave with others, so she found an old two-leg bed sheet and made her boards into a covered wagon, where she sits all the time as her little goats pull her. Played by bibblewdude

    Architects~
    None

    Knights~
    Angst is the head of all knights. http://mainecooncompanion.net/…8/06/maine-coon-tabby.jpg He is a strong, courageous, noble cat who is well respected and trusted. He owns no animals, relying on his own strengths to win battles and defend himself. His den is huge, at the base of an oak tree. Played by bibblewdude

    Farmers~
    Dingo is a kind, playful livestock farmer. http://www.digitaldesktopwallp…e-tabby-cat-wallpaper.jpg He has no family yet, but because of his generous offers, his land area is HUGE! He has a pool right beside his underground den, about three fox-lengths wide and one fox-length long, where he raises trout. He keeps moorhens and rabbits as well, who all roam together.
