The Love Gathering of Full Moons

Duskpetal's frosty sapphire optics scanned the clearing, her purring rising excitedly. She had assembled a Gathering. Her! Duskpetal raised her muzzle to the sky, examining the full moon's perfect roundness and shape. It was definitely a clear night, and she could feel no pressure in the fresh, new-fall air. The flowers were in bloom, their scent drifting lazily across her maw as she tasted the sweet scent. The silky white she-cat's blue gaze now raked the open space, pleased to find that there were low-hanging branches assembled to willow trees to provide privacy and comfort, and she had placed moss-feather nests every where in a resting/talking spot. The pure white she-cat balanced easily on an old stump, eyeing her work as she waited. She and her little brother had passed on the word to every cat in sight, and she was quite happy to announce that even the leaders of the close-by clans had nodded their approval.

Duskpetal had secretly stashed small and large amounts of catmint everywhere, under rocks, and hiding in the undergrowth. It intoxicated the entire area, and Duskpetal was careful to stay out of reach. She wrinkled her nose, tempted to eat a bit, but knew she would be taken in the delicious herb's taste and smell right away. Her ice-blue oculars now turned back to the entrance, watching eagerly as shapes slunk out of the nearby forest, moor and swamps. A larger, uscular feline approache dher, his sea-green eyes questioning her."Duskpetal. Good job on the clearing. But I do smell something strange around here." Cometfrost meowed almost inaudibly, and his littermate shrugged."Go enjoy yourself." She told her shy companion. He nodded and said nothing, but eyed her suspiciously before leaving her in long strides.

    sure!

The marbled tom had risen early, avoiding any clancats directly, his muzzle hitting a strange scent before he had even crossed out of camp. Scenting it carefully, Pebblestorm's hiss rose in his throat, and he hurried out of the Shadowclan camp in long, breath-taking strides of annoyance. He would find this intruder and show all his clanmates he wasn't to be messed with."Hey!You!"He snapped, making sure his masculine voice projected across the icy-cold snow.He could see the she-cat more easily now,his pale oculars raking her uneasily, but he kept his temper in check.

ooc; please be advanced, and your charrie must be a tom in a rival/or some clan.and if you could, please be creative.no pic is required, friend!

ic;The striped feline's face rose from her tucked paws in the soaked nest, her ears flicking unconciosuly as she forced her eyes to open. Color and light filtered through the den of the apprentices of Auroraclan and Sunrisepaw did not like mornings at all. Her littermate used to tease her for her name--though she was Sunrisepaw, she didn't enjoy sunrises. Her tail lurched backwards as she rose in her nest to stretch, accidentally hitting her brother, Hailpaw in the face."Sorry."She smirked easily as the tom screeched in alarm, bouncing out of his nest. Sunrisepaw kept that image in her head, starting to purr affectionately as she treaded across camp to meet her mentor, Dawnflight. The Auroraclanner seemed to be pacing impatiently, her tail lashing from time to time."There's been scents of a fox."The dappled wild cat meowed softly, as her apprentice approached cautiously.

"FOX?"Sunrisepaw murmured loudly, and Dawnflight nodded to prove that this was true."We are going with a few other cats to investigate and maybe fight the fox,if we have to!"The young feline continued, her orbs narrowing as she started pacing once more.Sunrisepaw couldn't believe it! The ginger-and-brown she-cat bounced on her pads, but she was concerned for her mentor, who was significantly afraid of foxes. It wasn't news that Dawnflight's mate was killed just last season by a male fox. Those were harsh days...The apprentice shook her head to clear her thoughts, feelings slightly guilty that Dawnflight's mate had died because he had to protect the nursery, which had been containing Sunrisepaw.

ooc;you're pretty advanced to me! ^^

ic;Hailpaw emerged a moment later from Auroraclan's apprentice's den, yawning luxuriously with his jaws gaping wide from exhaustion.Tilting her head,Sunrisepaw purre at the look of her brother's slouching pose and tirid eyes. His green gaze locked with hers before she finally exploded with laughter, approaching her brother as his mentor;Truthfeather began to speak in low tones with Dawnflight."What?I couldn't sleep last night! All the rain has made my nest damp and wet!"Hailpaw cried out, narrowing his emerald optics at her seriously. Her smile widened on her maw as Hailpaw and her began to chat.

Their conversation was abruptly cut off when Dawnflight wildly thrust her head close to Sunrisepaw's ear, breathing slightly hard."It actually might not be foxes,Sunrisepaw. It could be those foxheart Pineclanners."The female mentor meowed, her breath smelling of thyme leaves for some reason.Flinching away,Sunrisepaw nodded briefly and Hailpaw trotted away from her to follow his mentor, who seemed to be leading the patrol.Exctiement still bubbled under her pelt, and Sunrisepaw leaned forward to taste whiffs of Pineclan scents. As they neared the border, the four cats began sniffing the air and border markings, and Dawnflight admitted that there was definately a fox nearby, just yesterday.

"The scent is stale, but fresh enough to be recent."Truthfeather confirmed, his blue eyes searching Dawnflight's bashfully, tucking his head in between his chest slightly.Sunrisepaw wondered if he liked her crazy mentor. However,Dawnflight didn't seem crazy. She seemed quite shy, too,as she shuffled her paws and nodded in response.Hailpaw glanced at her like,What's going on? and Sunrisepaw shrugged, padding forward so she was almost on the border to sniff out more scents.

    ooc;awesome! ^^

ic;His ears easily pricked at the plucking sound made not far from the border he was tearing marigold from, and he spat the herbs out, mentally hoping Quailheart would find those soon.Finding a possible intruder was more important fight now.His bright gaze flickered towards the Windclan and Shadowclan border, rustling sounds now echoing into his ears.He leaned forward as he managed to land on the thick snow. His pawsteps grew more clumsy and slow, his breaths billowing from his maw as the warm air hit his cheeks.Forcing his fur to stand up,he huddled his shoulders together before proceeding closer to the mingled scent of a feline.

Pebblestorm drew in a hiss, raising his bowed head to stare at the she-cat.His marbled pelt was spiked up like brambles, and he unsheathed his claws--which seemed to burn with rage.Still,he remembered to reamin calm, his golden oculars staring hard at the medicine cat."Is this what medicine cats do everyday, hmm? Trespass onto other clans' territories to steal herbs and berries? "His voice drifted loudly over the silent morning, and Pebblestorm sat on his rear calmly to wait for the feline's reaction. He remembered her from Gatherings, but she didn't seem like the type to take things from other clan's territories.Anyway,he didn't know berries grew here.Quailheart would be celebrating tonight.

Dawnflight purred softly, but she remained poised as she watched her apprentice taste the borders gingerly."Oh,Sunrisepaw...Please mark the borders again;we don't want that stinky pine smell to drift over, now do we?"The she-cat's tone was gentle, and Sunrisepaw was so surprised that she flinched and fell back on her haunches, while Hailpaw stifled a laugh.Glaring at her littermate, the small, dainty she-cat raised her muzzle to hmph! and lifted her tail to re-mark their side of the border.Accidentally though,as she wobbled on her striped legs,Hailpaw tripped clumsily over his tail, and collided with his sister. He was the first to hurry to get up,his fur spiked up as he bent his head down to apologize.

Sunrisepaw grunted, flinching as she realized she was on the Pineclan's side of the border. An icky scent filled her nostrils, and she hissed at the repulsive forest smell. She preferred Auroraclan's scent best, but honestly?Pineclan had to work on better smelling-scents.She dragged herself upwards, shaking off pine needles that had clung to her tabby pelt."GET BACK NOW!"Truthfeather called to her,his voice ringing in her ears.Sunrisepaw nodded, and scrambled over the border as her mentor began licking her in frantic strokes, almost like a mother."I'm fine,Dawnflight!Honestly, you'd think you were having kits again."SUnrisepaw meowed, her expression annoyed as she pulled away.

ooc;be advanced, and have a picture.I created this thread specifically for the cat as my avatar. Thanks!

ic;Cloverfrost welcomed his new name, bathing in the sunshine of praise on glory. His clanmates were so proud of having a new warrior in their midst, and the black tom enjoyed his moment of pride. His amber gaze settled on his mother, and he crouched-delibrately avoiding her cold, green gaze as she raked her green glare on him.The amber-eyed Bloodclanner had succeeded in killing his father, but at a price. The black-furred tom raised his muzzle to the sky once more, savouring the bloodthirsty cheers that echoed in his ears.Love was weak--as Scourge had once said. And Cloverfrost swore to never fall in love.As his father had come with his mother form a forest clan,Cloverfrost was stuck with this stupid name. Why not Frost?Or Clover?

The amber eyes he possessed scanned the cats of Bloodclan before he leaped down form the pile of trash, and sat at the back of the clan's crowd."Since he is now one of our warriors,"Scourge moewed mockingly, and a chuckle of amusement rippled through the crowd."Cloverfrost will now catch as many rats or prey he can find for the clan."Scourge's small body leapt away from the trash pile as he finished, and disappeared with Bone into his den.Cloverfrost sighed heavily. He'd better get started, anyhow. The Twolegplace annoyed him,but Cloverfrost had to get used to it.He followed the stench of trash and Twoleg crowfood, hoping to find rats.As he left the camp, the sky began to grow darker, and the black-furred tom shifted as his collar of dog teeth pricked his fur a little.

ooc;thanks for joining.i thought nobody would join because it sounds so boring! *_*

ic;Duskpetal eyed the newcomer with interest, her claws flexing against the stubborn rock as she left small gouges of claw-marks in the rock. Her white fur bristled against a warm breeze, but the impact gave her tingles up her spine. Her blue oculars scanned the rest of the clearing, her spine stiffened as she straightened her back to see her secret stashes of catmint piles hidden everywhere.Although it was impossible to see,Duskpetal felt the presence of the catmint, and scooted a little farther down the rock,so she wouldn't be too affected.

Cometfrost's dark gaze rested on Blizzard, his maw parted to inhal her scent.Slightly aromatic and sweet, the scent drew a sharp intake of a gasp from the long-legged tom.He ducked his head in embarrassment though, because she seemed so small compared to his muscular, lean body.Crouching,he curled up against the willow tree, catching himself as he resisted a purr of contentment. His sister Duskpetal had arranged such lovely nests for the cats coming. When had his trickster of a sister become so kind and thoughtful? The quiet tom tucked his paws under his chest, but his oculars had trouble ripping away from the pretty she-cat who had just arrived.

Pebblestorm didn't seem to be taken aback by the she-cat's snappy retorts, and answered frostily back,"Oh yes,you shall never trespass as long as you shall live. One day or another, you'll be caught with a paw in a clan's territory--whether or not it's Shadowclan's."The warrior's gaze softened slightly, but his gaze remained hard as he surveyed the she-cat turn to leave. He purred under his breath in an appreciative manner as he studied her pelt and interesting eyes.He pretended not to notice, but the marbled tom was enchanted by the color and intelligence that radiated from them. However,as soon as Frostheart plunged into the snow--the tom's first instinct was to help her,but decided against it,and burst into loud laughter.Amused purrs broke out from his maw,and he smirked against his will. She wasn't in Shadowclan territory, and it didn't hurt to laugh after her sharp meow of defiance.SHe had acted so calm about it,yet, she was as clumsy as he was in snow!

Not that he would admit it,but Pebblestorm took his chances. The marbled cat rose from his hanches, and crouched so he could watch her better."Not so great are you, huh?"His sharp amber gaze was sparking with amusement, and his smirk was drifting back onto his maw.

Even though Hailpaw was the same age as her,Sunrisepaw watched with frustration as he loomed over her and snarled at the Pineclanners. Her dark-furred brother used his muscular body to protect her,and she was forced to duck underneath his belly to see what was going on.Even if the cats were outnumbered,Auroraclan's warriros never gave up.Sunrisepaw's tabby fur fluffed up in defiance as Dawnflight stepped forward, her blue gaze raking the patrol."Sorry.We were sniffing out a fox scent when our apprentice tripped. We would never steal prey."The she-cat meowed evenly, but her eyes rested on the gray apprentice for awhile, her dappled fur rising with silent anger.Sunrisepaw nodded in agreement from her spot behind Hailpaw, and peeked out as she locked gazes with Stormpaw, her bright gaze sparking with mischief. The playfulness disappeared in her eyes when she surveyed the apprentice, and noticed that he was also slightly bigger than her.Come on!Why am I so small?

Duskpetal's annoyed expression glared at her littermate from afar, and the lean feline flinched under the smaller she-cat's glowering.Cometfrost hurridly got up,stretching luxuriously as he flexed his muscles and claws. His hooked claws gouged the earth as he nervously plucked his way towards Blizzard, feeling out of place and awkward while nearing the pretty female fae.The black-and-silver striped tabby dipped his head at Blizzard, sitting on his haunches so he wouldn't tower over her."Um..Greetings.I'm Cometfrost."He meowed formally, but his paws itches anxiously, and he longed just to creepy back to his willow tree, and only stare at the she-cat from a distance.Somehow,he felt a little more courageous, out in the open. The black-furred tom detected a faint trace of catmint, but it seemed to be stale,so he ignored it--but gee,the scent was urging him to push his luck with Blizzard.

Dawnflight dipped her head."Very well."And with that, the she-cat turned briefly, leading her patrol away as they left into the sweet-smelling territory of Auroraclan.

Sunrisepaw and Hailpaw matched each other's pawsteps, and the tabby glanced back, but her maw was parted into a smile as she dipped her head at Stormpaw, excitement stil bubbling under her pelt. She didn't know why,but somehow she really felt like the gray apprentice could be a nice friend.Sunrisepaw turned away, and Hailpaw began to bump her over and over with his shoulder.

The young feline regarded the she-cat after a moment of silent hesitation, and he parted his maw to speak to her."I know all about respect, medicine cat!"The warrior answered, blinking rapidly in case his body decided to force him to cry.He wanted to plunge into darkness after he had spoken, because words began to flood out of Pebblestorm's cavern of a mouth."I don't have respect from others--and it's obvious you don't either."He bit bact a snarl to go with his harsh words, too, but he wasn't an idiot. He had heard gossip at the Gatherings that one of the medicine cats had mix-matched eyes that were so unusual, even his 'well-respected' leader confirmed that he had trouble taking her seriously.

Pebblestorm longed to tell the medicine cat about the herbs he had found right on another border, but he'd be betraying his clan--and would be banned,no doubt.Although he felt a little sorry for the rebellious she-cat,Pebblestorm turned his muzzle so he wouldn't have to witness her react.Anyway, what kind of medicine cat fell onto her herbs? It was her fault, and the marbled tom was convinced he had done nothing wrong--but protect Shadowclan's land.

"Blizzard..."The dark-furred tom echoed softly, anxiousness coming off of his body like tidal waves. He lifted his muzzle, and nodded gentleman-like,purring so he'd sound friendly. His gaze lingered on er for awhile before he meowed,"Pleased to meet you,Blizzard."The amber-eyed former Thunderclanner told her, slightly dreamy as he studied her beautiful complexion.

The laughter died from the tom's eyes, and he paused from his smirking. He arched his back, the cool wind enveloping his body as he did. Lifting his muzzle, he watched as his only source of entertainment disappeared into the strange fog that was beginning to blanket the land. It seemed to be heading towards Shadowclan, but Pebblestorm stood motionless by the border, his maw parted as he inhaled the still-fresh scent of the medicine cat. It had been a long time since a cat had treated him equally--even if she was a rival. Licking a paw, he wiped it carefully around his left ear. The Shadowclanner raised from his comfortably position, tenderly testing each hind leg as he stretched each limb in turn, swiveling his ears so they turned towards the last place the medicine cat had been seen.

The warrior blinked his amber oculars at a rustle in the bushes, and he instantly crouched, his mouth watering as he crept forward expertly. Suddenly, a frog leaped out of the shrubs that covered a swamp from his view. The frog landed squarely on his face, and embarrassment flooded his pelt as he recovered from the shock. Ceruleanstar, Frogfeather and Oneleaf emerged just as the frog leaped away from the marbled cat's face, right into Ceruleanstar's outstretched claws. After it had been killed, the frog lay limp in Ceruleanstar's jaws, and he dropped it to express his smugness."I've never seen a frog attack a warrior before."He meowed. His mate, Oneleaf purred agreeably and rubbed her muzzle contently against the tom's shoulder."You caught it at least."Her soothing voice calmed Pebblestorm's anger, and the marbled tom glanced at her longingly. He had wanted her as a mate, but she seemed to have liked Ceruleanstar better.Another thing his brother could brag about.
