Blaze made his way through unfamiliar territory, weaving in and out of bushes and plants. He froze, catching the scent of mouse. He licked his lips in anticipation, but froze in panic when he realized that there was also an overwhelming smell of an unfamiliar cat. Through impulse he launched himself up the nearest tree, and watched from leaf covered branches above to see who was near.

Piercing yellow eyes darted back and forth, looking through the cover of leaves that hid Blaze's body. He knew he smelt cat, they had to be very close the scent was recent if not just put there. With precision, he leaped to another branch and balanced precariously before leaping into another tree that was very close. Trying not to make too much noise with the sound of claws on bark, he hoisted himself back into the tree and sniffed. The mouse he smelt was killed, whoever was near had to of still been close.

The sun peeked through the leaves, making his red-orange pelt glow like the flames of the forest. Blaze couldn't decide where he should go, but he had a feeling that if he was discovered he wouldn't have a very nice welcome.

Blaze flicked his ears in surprise when he heard faint voices ahead of him, not expecting to hear them so close but knowing it was always a possibility. He slid carefully down his branch and across a few more, pausing every time he thought he heard something else. The sun continued to break through the leaves at random areas, and he was careful to avoid it knowing he could easily be spotted if his pelt was caught in it.

    Jinx

    Age: 18 Moons

    Gender: Female

    Rank: Healer

Personality: Jinx is a very stubborn and proud she-cat, who doesn't appreciate being pushed around or told what to do. She is very skilled with medicine, and enjoys helping others when they deserve it. Shes never really agreed with the group that shes been with, but has made a few close allies that she doesn't think would survive if she left.

Jinx sat at the entrance of the place the group she was part of called home. As Shatterpool passed by she dipped her head in greeting, swishing her tail back and forth. It was a beautiful day, she should take advantage of it by hunting. With a quick stretch forward, she made her way forward and decided to pass by the lake.

Squaring his shoulders, Blaze kept the appearance that he was calm. Truthfully, he was anxious and wary of these strange cats. He did not know them, and he did not feel like getting into disagreements. "Greetings.." he mewed, slashing his tail and keeping his eyes on the she-cat in the tree with him. She looked to be about his age, and well fed. He determined that he could probably take her in a fight but knew it wouldn't be easy. The second cat however, he couldn't get a good look at and only knew that they too were female. The wind blew, and the leaves around them danced letting in the sun. Fiery pelt blazing, Blaze gazed back and waited for what would come next.

The healer swished her tail, acknowledging her new companion. "I'm going to hunt for some food, and possibly gather herbs as well if I find any worthwhile." she replied, steadying her pace as she weaved in and out of brush. The sun was high, and she was hoping there would be a few voles or even squirrels out and about. The cooling breeze from the lake sounded very refreshing right now as well, and she longed to feel it with the sun glaring on her pelt. Sometimes she wished she had a shorter coat, but knew there was nothing to be done about it.

Jinx remembered that her trainee would probably be awake now, and hungry. She wondered if he would have the same idea, heading toward the lake because prey would want to cool off as well. She decided to wait and relax, if her trainee came by she would watch and assess him. One thing she despised about the group she was part of was that trainees were not guaranteed an actual mentor, it was not required. Shes seen many moons of starved trainees who could not properly hunt fort themselves because no one seemed to want to teach them. She didn't want to be like that, and took every opportunity she could to teach Jericho. It also wasn't that much of a hassle, her student seemed very promising as a healer as well. She sighed, sitting back and enjoying a strong breeze.

Jinx spied on her Trainee from afar, watching his hunting technique and skill. He had developed pretty well, and she purred her approval when he caught the prey. She appeared from her hiding place. "[i][b]Well done Jericho" she said, padding up next to him. She gave his head a quick lick in approval. Though she wasn't allowed to have kits, she always wanted some. Some part of the Healer treated this trainee as if he were her own kit, but she couldn't help it.

Blaze leaped from the branch he was sitting on, standing his full height and looking down on the cat that he couldn't previously see. She seemed confused, but she was pretty. He wondered why it happened to be females that he encountered, he always had a soft spot for them. He hoped this wouldn't lead to a fight, he never enjoyed hurting women,
