When she was an apprentice she was mentored by Rabbitheart who was very strict.By the time she became a warrior, She already knew all the moves.Of course, she hadn't done half of them.Mapleleap got her scar in a battle against a rogue that attacked her when she was hunting.The rogue got away, but was extremely hurt. She once had a dream from StarClan saying that the camp would be attacked by badgers.
