It was more like the silence before the storm, but the poor apprentice didn't know that. She blinked her sea green eyes, looking up at the dark night sky as she sat on the outside of the camp. It was so beautiful, the night sky. There were so many stars that looked exactly the same, but yet they all looked so different. Different sizes, shapes, distances from earth. It was like art in her eyes.
Her heart began racing. It started off slow, but it quickly got faster and faster. After a while, it felt like it was going to burst out of her small feline chest. She breathed heavily, not because she needed to, but because that was her body's natural reaction to her fast heart beat. The faster her heart beat got, the worse it was. Now she was having trouble breathing. What is this? Buzzcutpaw thought, trying to catch her breath. She couldn't. Air was going inside her, but not enough. Too long had gone by and she felt like she was dying.
The stars above her began morphing together. They did so until they formed in the shape of a cat. A big cat, at that. It had no detail, it was just a giant cat made of light. It grew bigger and bigger until it exploded and then it's ashes turned to shadows that fell from the sky like snow. She knew this could not be real, and she was right. It wasn't real, but it looked real. It felt real. It wasn't long before there were hundreds of cats surrounding her, all made of the falling shadow pieces. Stop breathing! The voices of the cats yelled. Don't struggle for air, it'll only make it worse. They said, getting closer to her.
As they got closer it was harder to gasp for air. Their voices got louder and louder, and then suddenly she couldn't see or hear anything. Everything was silent and black. She didn't even feel it when her body fell to the ground. Laying there, she was unconscious. A few minutes of nothing passed before the she-cat finally opened her eyes again. Nothing was there but the normal territory that she had lived in since she joined SkullClan. Everything was normal.
Of course, only the sight part was normal. Ringing in her mind, she continued to hear the voices of the hundred cats. At this point, she couldn't even tell what they were saying. She screamed, and could hear herself, but could not process what she had just done. In fact, she could not process anything that was going on. All her mind heard was the whispers of the shadow cat figures.
She screamed louder, and louder. She continued screaming. Finally, when her throat hurt enough, she stopped. Her eyes began pouring out tears and she shut her eyes. he lowered herself to the ground and put her paws on her ears as if would help. It wasn't going away.
