    Hello everyone.

I'm not quite sure what you call it, but it's a code for when you put in a link and it changes into a small word you can type, and click the link without it looking messy. It looks really nice, could anybody help me out?

I didn't like the way he was looking at me, staring me down like that. Who did he think he was? Some sort of King. I looked away, unable to rebound the intenseness in his gaze. It was irritating. I should have just killed him there and then to get it over with. He was really getting on my nerves. I took a deep breath, watching the shot in front of us. Why was he irritating me like that? "I'd watch it if I were you. I mean, I'm going to kill you anyway, but I can make it as long and painful as I like. Also," I turned to face him, a fresh, confident smirk plastered on my face, "maybe I've have a change of heart. I can be friendly too."

I leaned forwards and pushed the shot towards him with a scowl. "I don't drink. Haven't I told you that before? How dumb are you?" I said with a glare. There wasn't any chance I was getting myself drunk around him. I knew that he was powerful, more than the others. And with the threats? How pathetic. My mouth turned downwards in disgust. "You really should meet yourself some time, you know. If hunters are bad enough, just check out how irritating you are."

PS: New account. Apologies for the later reply. I'll probably be more active from now on as it is now the summer holidays.

[font=comic sans ms]I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "You seem to have me all figured out now don't you? Now that your little speech has finished, I'd start begging because if that's the best you've got," I grinned, "it's not enough." I watched him drown his shot and sighed. Did vampires even get drunk? "Look Alex, or whatever you said your name was." Alaric, she knew. But it was funny. "I'm not stupid and I am going to kill you. I shouldn't have helped you last night, but I was both drunk and tired so don't think that's going to help you tonight. Got it?"

I crossed my arms over my chest. He was challenging me, alright. He wanted me to make the first move but I couldn't do it here. It was too busy. "If we weren't interrupted yesterday, I would have killed you easily. Don't think I'm some sort of coward like you, I can't kill you here. I don't want to scar some poor soul for life. And the Police are almost as annoying as you to deal with." I rolled my eyes at the thought. Police people were all stupid - too many questions.

    PS: A band? How exciting!

    [font=comic sans ms]
My eyebrows raised. It would be a little strange anyone else inviting them to their apartment, but for the purpose of killing this vampire, it would be a better location - they didn't want to get interrupted like last time. I wasn't sure though, there he would have the advantage. He would know where everything was and what was to stop him from killing me along the way. He had promised, but could it be trusted? He had obeyed it yesterday, though. But he didn't seem as aggressive as he was yesterday too. I grinned back at him.

"Getting a bit heavy for a second date, don't you think?" I said sarcastically, wondering if it would annoy him. It was always funny getting on the nerves of a vampire. I stood and slipped my arm around his, clearly showing disgust.

    PS: No worries.

[font=comic sans ms]"Well you know how much I hate to disappoint, but the next date will be your funeral," I retorted, my other hand fleeing to my bag - to the weapon. I didn't trust him in the slightest, word or no word. I expected him to be disgusted at the joke as well, but he seemed to only flip it back on me. His intention worked, I felt very uncomfortable and just as certain that he was going to try and kill me again. Well, I could play along still.

My body tensed and the strange prickling on my skin buzzed a little, as it did yesterday. I paid it no notice, why should I? He'd be dead soon and I'd never have to watch his stupid moves again. His mouth brushed gently against my ear. I resisted the urge to cringe backwards, the prickling getting faster than ever. Instead, I started to walk forwards. "We better get started then, because I don't see any charm here."

[font=comic sans ms]I smirked and simply said: "Sounds like a deal to me. But why do you only have a mattress?" It seemed a bit weird. Nothing else in his small, pathetic life? Sounded like a vampire though, at least. "And how old are you anyway?" He might have already told me but I couldn't be bothered about it. The cornering thing would be a piece of cake, if I even agreed to my side of the bargain. I could back up on it at anytime. His words earlier haunted me, about the whole not wanting a disadvantage thing. I supposed he was right about it, really. But was that such a bad thing? At least I gave my victims a chance that they never could really have.

And the touching thing was irritating me. I smiled up at him sweetly. "Is this how you take all your young girls home? Because I'm not getting anything. Especially when all you have is a mattress?"

[font=comic sans ms]I raised my eyebrows. I didn't really mean to ask him any questions, why would I care? He would be dead soon enough? Maybe it was just waiting time. His arm was starting to annoy me as well, but we were almost there so I would let it pass a moment longer. I memorized the path behind us. I would leave quickly and get some coffee. Boy I needed it. The life of a Hunter was harder than it sounded. I watched him curiously from the corners of my eyes. Seven hundred was pretty old, as far as vampires went. I grinned. "In seven hundred years no hunter has managed to kill you?" I scoffed, modestly of course. "I'm flattered. Maybe I'll get some fame off this."

I rolled my eyes as he said he was persuasive. "Mind controlling innocent, young ladies? Not exactly persuasive is it?"

[font=comic sans ms]"I was joking," I said dryly. Was he actually being secret about the whole bringing girls home? It was weird, not even for a vampire. Then again, what else would he do all day? He didn't have much of a job like she did and was obvious there was nothing else to do in his apartment all day. It was a bit of a dump, everything tossed about, this and that - yet barely any furniture or décor at all. My hand slipped into my bag, bringing out the wooden-interior knife. I held it out, not attacking just yet, but threateningly in case he tried anything stupid. It bothered me that he was taking this so lightly.

"A bounty higher than the one I already have?" I grinned. "This must be Christmas." It was stupid to want to be known so widely as a vampire hunter, but it showed that my work was recognized and feared. But I was careful. I never stayed in one place too long and I never made the habit of following after the same people. I held out my knife, ready to start. "I'm ready, loser."

[font=comic sans ms]"Deal," I said dryly, pulling a hand over my face in feign yawning. "Although, it's going to be ever so boring after I kill you. Who else am I to annoy all day?" I pulled the knife forwards, up close to me. I would rather die than become a vampire - it was what I had spent most of my life fighting against and I could never hurt another human in the way they did. No way would I ever let anyone turn me into a vampire, not willingly anyway. It was a cruel fate, but I didn't allow myself to think about losing, so I smirked a clean expression.

I had to pin him down? Easy. Piece of cake. Enough talking and thinking about it, I gripped my knife firmly and lunged forwards suddenly eager to get it over with. I'd get him now, fast, but he expected it. Then it would be incredibly in my favor.

[font=comic sans ms]I mentally cursed - I was relying too hard on it really, on the attack. I should have been more prepared. He moved fast, even for a vampire. Especially for a human. I glared at him, he had a thing for headlocks didn't he? And now my arms were hurting and I couldn't move. "Is that all you got?" I said with a grin, though I had to grit my teeth in the odd sense of pain. There was the stupid tingling again. It was buzzing up all along my skin.

    Why?

[font=comic sans ms]When he released me, I frowned at him and shuffled backwards against the wall, regaining my balance and breath. "What's going on?" I didn't understand. My skin was hurting, less now that he was away. What was he doing to me? I glared at him. "I thought you said you were going to play fair. Can you stop with whatever magic this is?"

But from his reaction it looked as if he was just as surprised. Almost as if he blamed me for it. I watched him cautiously. Perhaps he was just faking it, I barely knew the guy. But some small part of me was secretly relieved. The fight had stopped and now either of us was going to die.

[font=comic sans ms]I swore. He was started to scare me, if I got scared that was. I didn't get scared, not really. He was calm before, I hadn't seen him angry but now he seemed like a completely different person. Like the monster he was. I swallowed, gripping the knife. I'm glad I did because seconds later he lunged at me. And there I was in the corner, how stupid. It didn't look like he was even going to turn me if he won, he looked as if he really was going to kill me.

I kept my knife aimed forwards in front of me, firmly. Hopefully, from the right angle if he got anywhere too close for my liking the knife would go straight into his chest.

[font=comic sans ms]Almost at once, I saw his anger subdue - or whatever was possessing him. I didn't understand. How had he changed so fast? Why had he been so stupid as to walk right into my knife? My hands made fists as I watched him fall to his knees. A sense of something strange overcame me - an almost pain at the fact he was down and that I had done it. I felt ... Bad. I guess I would, wouldn't I? I had narrowly escaped death and we had agreed on something beforehand anyway? But I didn't really want him to die, not yet anyway. And I still had questions about the tingling.

I swallowed. He was down, he was dying. Anyone could see that. But he couldn't hurt me now. He wouldn't have anything to gain and he didn't have the strength. So I approached him, my skin feeling cold and my chest quivering. Had I just made a terrible mistake? "Alaric?"

[font=comic sans ms]It was too late. He had been poisoned. If the wound didn't kill him the poison will. Unless ... There had to be some other way. I didn't ... I struggled to contain my emotions. Of course I wanted him dead, I was a hunter. It was in my blood and in all of my being. It was everything I knew. That's what happened yesterday in the alley, and that was happening again in the apartment. I swallowed back, uncertain. What else was I to do? Leave him there saying my name - at least he had bothered to remember it. None of the others did. A strange part of me wanted him to live, it wanted him to be okay again.

Maybe my mistake wasn't too late to rectify.

I reached forwards, placing my hand around the knife. Vampire blood was spilling out. I sighed. "Try to keep still, this is going to hurt a lot." I wrapped my hand on the knife tight and tried to pull it out.

[font=comic sans ms]I bit my lip. I didn't cry, I wasn't ever going to cry. But I sure felt like this. What was wrong with me? Why should I care? My mind was screaming one thing and my body another. I was mostly tempted to slit his throat and end all the complaining ... But how could I? He met my eyes and apologized. Apologized. A vampire said that, not me. It was all the swaying my stupid self needed. The blood made me feel nauseous but there was no time for that. I used the knife to cut the fabric from the bottom of my dress. Then I wound it tightly and pressed it against the wound. Maybe it would help, I didn't know. I hadn't ever done this before.

"Shut up," I told him fiercely. "You're not dying. Now shut up and tell me how I can help you."

[font=comic sans ms]I moved quickly. I searched his pockets, all of them until I found the stupid phone. Why had he got me into this mess? I was going to kill him later for this alone. I grabbed the phone and struggled for this contact. Eric. Would he get there in ten minutes? Before he died? I dialed it down sharply, watching the arrows rotate as the call began. "Come on," I muttered. "Pick up, you idiot."

With my other hand I continued to press down on the wound, not that it made much of a difference. I wasn't sure if there was anyone listening on the other hand as it cackled, but I didn't have time to explain. "Eric, get here right now!" I yelled into the phone.

Drain him. I didn't understand. What did he mean?

[font=comic sans ms]"I ... Uh ..." I really hadn't managed to think this through. I had called a vampire, his friend no less, over. If Alaric didn't kill me, this one surely would. I cleared my throat. There was no time to be stupid. "I'm guessing you're Eric? Nice of you to show up, although next time, why don't you take longer?"

I put the phone down, annoyed. I was certain he wasn't even going to show since he hadn't bothered to even answer. Also, I didn't want to annoy him. He looked angry anyway. But he wouldn't kill me until he sorted his friend out first. Why had I gotten involved with this?

"Alaric," I said. "He's been stabbed with a wooden blade and got poisoned." I narrowed my eyes at him. "You need to drain out the poison from his blood before he dies."
