Name : Shizuko Shion
Age: 16
Appearance : Long dark hair, covering her left eye. She has a plaster-thing over her left eye (see picture). The eye that isn't covered is a shiny purple, which usually has a slightly worried expression on it. She has a small figure
Personality : Incredibly timid, and has no confidence. Even though she is shy, she opens up to those who make an effort to be her friend, and she acts just like any other person when she is alone with these friends. Her hobby's are drawing and singing, but she would never show these off to anyone. She is also icredibly good at running, with both good stamina and speed. Her eye is covered because she has hetro-chromia (I think that's what it's called) and her other eye is a deep crimson. She is very self-conscious about this, and has never told anyone about it, and people don't ask. Oh, and just an FYI, her first name means Quiet :3
History : She has always loved keeping to herself, so she has never had many friends. She becomes very attached to the friends she does make. One time, someone took her bandage off and made fun of her for it, meaning she had to move schools to destiny soul, where everyone treated her kindly
Physical Talent : Fast Runner
Crush : I'll think about it xD

Yuffie's POV
Why did I have to get paired with the shyest girl in the class?!
The two dark haired girls were walking down the narrow hall, carrying two buckets of paint each. They were paired together for their art project, but how was this fair?! Shizuko was the quietest girl in the class... no, scrap that. The quietest girl in the school! How was I meant to brainstorm with a girl that struggles to breath around me!Despite the negative thoughts, Yuffie put on her best grin. She was determined to get Shion to open up!
"Hey, uh Shion?" Yuffie asked, in an up-beat tone.
"Shizuko" She breathed backYuffie's smile quivered a bit. This was way too awkward
"S-Sorry, Shizuko, Do you have any idea's for the project?"
"No.."
"Well, it has to be about mysteries, so maybe we can do 'What does the other half of Shion's face look like?'"Yuffie giggled. Of course she was joking and meant no harm, but Shizuko stopped dead in her track, and dropped her paint bucket, splattering paint all over both of the girls and the corridoor.
"Sorry! Was that insensitive?! I didn't know, i'm sorry!"
Goddammit me, why have you gotta say something like that!
"...It's okay. It's my fault"
While Yuffie was busy apologising, the girls didn't notice their sensei behind them.
"DETENTIOOON!"
-
All the way to the basement, Yuffie couldn't stop apologising. Even though Shizuko said it was okay, and even gave a slight smile, Yuffie still couldn't help but feel bad. Shizuko was honestly glad that Yuffie was making an effort to be kind. Most people were scared off by her shyness or the hidden side of her face.
Yuffie was walking backwards so she could keep apologising to Shizuko. She even refused to turn around when they reached the basement, and she just felt around for the door knob until she managed to open it.
The two girls we're walking down the stairs, and Yuffie was still apologising while looking at Shizuko.
"I can't explain how bad I feel! I really didn't mean to-"
"Yuffie, watch out!"
Yuffie stopped. She could feel her back press into something...
-
"SHIZUKO!!!"
Yuffie saw Shizuko fall on the, and she was quickly being dragged down into the unknown abyss.
"Yuffie-!"
"Don't worry Shion, i'm coming in after you!"Of course Yuffie feared whatever was down there, but she couldn't just let Shizuko fall to her death, at least not by herself. And, it was her fault that this whole thing happened. She refused to be the only one to live, if what whatever was down there was harmful. She would protect Shion, and the other girls too, because this was her fault.
She grabbed Shizuko's waist, making sure that when the ground met them, Shizuko wouldn't be harmed, and the contact would hit Yuffie only.
-
A loud thump awoke Shizuko. She had no idea where she was. In front of her, sat a bewildered looking Rikku and beside her was a confused Seiko. Before Shizuko had a chance to ask where she was, she felt movement beneath her..
"Hey Shion, you didn't get hurt did you? Ehehe.."
Startled, Shizuko, jumped up.
"Y-Yuffie..! Are you okay..?"
Yuffie put on her usual grin as she stood up.
"No big deal, but you didn't get hurt did you, Shion?"
Shizuko timidly shook her head, and Yuffie let out a sigh of relief. Yuffie took a look around. She saw the two faces who earlier had been falling into what seemed like a never ending darkness. She was so happy no one had been hurt. Towering over her was a huge building which looked like a high school. Suddenly, a voice made her jump
"Hey there, lovebirds! Welcome to the AfterLife War front! I'm Yuri"
-
On the way to Yuri's so-called base, everyone was silent. Shizuko was still blushing from the whole 'Love Birds' incident. She gave Yuffie a look as if to say "SAY SOMETHING!". Yuffie understood what she meant, and gave a smile and a wink.
"Hey Seiko, we're not actually Lovers you know, so you can get the dirty rumours that you're inevitably gonna start out of you're head!"
Yuffie giggled, and Shizuko let out a sigh of relief. Yuffie grinned at Shizuko.
"Don't worry Shion, I got your back"
-
Yuffie was in awe.
"Woooaaaahh... Awesome! Hahaha, she looks like team rocket!"
Yuffie put her hands on her hips, and started laughing. Meanwhile, Shizuko was actually concerned for the well being of Rikku. She quietly walked up to Yuri.
"Will she be okay? U-um... wouldn't that kill a person"
Yuri stared back, as if Shizuko just said something Taboo.
"Wait, you guys don't know?"
Everyone stopped laughing, and turned to Yuri.
"What don't we know?" Yuffie asked. She crossed her arms. "Is there something you're not telling us?"
Yuri sighed, and put her hand to her head "Why do I gotta always be the one to deliver the bad news? Listen, you guys are in the afterlife, meaning you're dead"
-
"Yo, Yurippe, are these the new rookies?"
A guy with blue hair stepped forward, and placed an elbow on Yuri's shoulder. He looked at the 4 girls with a doubtful express.
"They don't look very... able. Especially the one with the purple... eye. What's behind your hair, anyway?"
Shizuko was shocked that someone had talked about her like that. Tears started welling up in her visable eye. Yuffie stepped in front of Shizuko.
"YOU WANNA START SOMETHING MATE?"
He stepped up to Yuffie, and looked down on her.
"Sure thing, Rookie!"
Yuffie gave her signature grin
"Come on then!"
The blue haired man threw a punch.
-
Shizuka was suprised at the sudden contact on her shoulders. It made her blush a little. She wanted to thank Rikku for the support, but she didn't have the guts.
Meanwhile, the blue haired guy kept throwing punches. However, Yuffie has had many years practise with this situation. This was like any other lesson for her. Yuffie caught and blocked the punches with no effort. Yuffie smiled.
"You don't mess with Shion"
Yuffie threw a powerful punch at Blue, which knocked him on the floor. Yuffie let out a giggle.
"Checkmate" she said, slyly.
-
Yuffie giggled.
"Heheh, when we get back, we'll have a one on one!" She said playfully. Looking down at the man she just punched, she put her hands behind her head, and gave a smile."I think I might of over done it a bit.... Nahhh, no one talks to Shion like that on my watch! By the way, Rikku, thanks for looking after her"
She put her fist infront of her, offering a fist-bump.
"I owe ya one!" She said with a wink.
Meanwhile, Shizuko was watching the girl Seiko had claimed to look like a doll. Seiko definitely had a point. Her skin was pale, and it looked like even small contact with the Sun's rays would damage t greatly. Her eyes seemed to be an artificial colour: a striking pale yellow. She also appeared to be greatly disconnected from everyone. While everyone in the room was whooping and cheering as the fight went on, she just stood there, watching...
Yuri turned to see who Seiko was talking about.
"Oh that, she's Ange- I mean, this here's Kanade." She put her arm around the pale girl jokingly.
"We kind of have a history, let's just say" -
Yuri put her feet on the desk and leaned back.
"Our goal is a simple one... We aim to meet God!"
Yuffie jaw dropped open.
"I thought you said it's a simple one!?! Why and how are you even gonna do that?!?"
Yuri's expression suddenly turned sad, and every one else in the room turned silent.
"We...We didn't exactly have great lives when we were alive. And we all died in traumatic ways. We want to know why he would make us live like that, and then die in an even worse way."
No one dared to breath. Shizuko took a glance at everyone in the room. Yuffie had a pitiful and guilty look on her face, and it was obvious that she felt bad about asking such a sensitive question in a direct way. Shizuko couldn't stand seeing anyone one in that way, but it was even worse seeing the person who was trying to protect her looking so... depresed.
-
Yuri's eyes closed.
"That's what we figured too, but we'll never know..."
Suddenly, her eyes opened with a burning passion.
"Unless we meet him! That's why we gotta do it, and do it soon!"
Suddenly, everyone in uniform started cheering and throwing there fists in the air, as if the mention of their previous lives hadn't been mentioned. Yuffie put on a forced smile, and Shizuko noticed it instantly.
"H-hey... Yuffie?" She whispered, pushing hair onto the left side of her face.
Yuffie put enthusiasm into her voice, she didn't want to worry Shion any more than she already has. "Don't worry about me, Shion." She put her arm around Shizuko's shoulders playfully. "I'm great!"
Yuffie was filled with doubts and regrets though. That's the second time she's screwed up today, and she was determined to be more careful with her words. At the same time though, she was tempted to ask about this Kanade, who haden't said a word and barely moved since the girls had entered the room. Who... or what exactly is she?
-
Naomi woke up to her empty house. Even though it has been years since she lost her family, she missed waking up to the happy chatting of her family around the table. She missed eating breakfast next to her loving Mother, and she missed getting a fist bump from her older brother when she left the door.
Now, she was used to getting up, grabbing an apple, and leaving the door.
When she stepped out of the door, the street fell quiet, and only whispers could be heard.
Naomi walked briskly to her destination: The Headquarters. Partly because she was late, but mostly because she couldn't stand the glaring and whispering strangers.
When Naomi had reached the yard, she saw her comrades. She gave them a blank look.
"Naomi Taylor here" She said with no emotion, as she walked up to the commander, "Flexkid, reporting for duty."
-
Yuri stood up aggressively from her chair.
"Moving on... Is just another way of saying giving up. And I do not intend to give up!"
Yuffie admired the girl's passion, but she had to agree with Seiko. If they moved on, they would be at peace. What's the point of fighting for something that might just lead to disappointment? What if God didn't really have an answer? What if God didn't even exist?
As tempted as Yuffie was to ask these questions, she couldn't risk saying anything that would sour the air even more. While Yuffie was contemplating these things, Shizuko was focused on the silver haired girl, Kanade. Was Yuri just about to call her Angel?
Curiosity was eaiting away at her mind, so Shizuko went up to the girl.
"H-hello, I'm Shizuko..."
Her voice was quiet and shaky; she instantly regretted talking to the girl.
"U-uh... You're... Kanade right?""Yes. I am. Why do you ask?"
Shizuko was startled at the reply. She expected a timid voice, but instead cam a quiet but direct tone. Her piercing red eyes were examining her face, as if she was a machine.
"J-J-Just wondering!"
Shizuko was filled with embarrassment. She hid behind Yuffie, hoping that Kanade would take her gaze off of her.
-
Everyone stood up and made their way to the canteen . All except Yuffie, as she pulled back Shizuko.
"Shizuko... What did that girl say to you?" Yuffie asked with a monotone voice, and a unusually serious face.
The change in personality shocked Shizuko slightly. What happened to "Shion"? And where was her signature grin? Shizuko also couldn't help but notice her pale skin had turned an even more striking shade of white.
"U-uh... Nothing much really..."
Shizuko tried to go to the canteen once more, but was again pulled back by Yuffie.
"Come on Shizuko, i'm not buying it. You wouldn't hide behind me or shake if it was "Nothing much". At least tell me what she was like. You're obviously scared, so just tell me."
It was obvious that Yuffie was just concerned, but this wasn't like her at all...
She always saw Yuffie in class, because she sat in front of her. And when she did see her, Yuffie was always smiling that classic smile of hers, even when she was by herself. She seemed to be an optimist, and a fighter. Shizuko always envied that. But who was Yuffie now? Was this another side to her? Or was this... her real self?
Shizuko shook of the thought. She was obviously thinking too much into this. All Yuffie did was ask what the girl was like. But still... she seemed so... different.
"Well... She looked like she has no emotion... like a-a sort of machine in a way. P-please don't be worried... Y-you know i'm just shy"
Yuffie's face softened.
"Ugh, I worry too much. But I still don't trust that girl, she's definitely trouble ... Sorry Shion. Let's catch up with the others"
Shizuko was more than glad that Yuffie was back to her old self, but something was still bothering her...
As they we're walking, Shizuko turned to Yuffie.
"Um... Are you ill? You look... pale"
Yuffie seemed a bit startled at first just smiled back.
"Don't worry about me"
The two carried on walking in silence
-
Yuffie and Shizuko finally caught up with the others in the canteen, and sat down at the end of the table, totally cut off from everyone else.
Though Yuffie seemed like she had returned to her normal self, Shizuko still couldn't get her head around what had just happened to Yuffie. Where did this new person come from? Her thoughts were disrupted by a voice.
"HEY. SHION. WHERE'D YA GO?"
Startled, Shizuko showed a slight blush
"Sorry, Yuffie... Are we getting food now?"
"Duuh, we ARE in a canteen!"
Shizuko forced a smile.
"Yeah, heheh, I guess."
Yuffie showed a huge smile, looking at Shizuko with glimmering eyes.
"Okay, i'll save our seats while you go ahead, Shion" Yuffie winked and held up her thumb "Don't leave me waiting to long."
Shizuko's smile genuinely brightened, as she walked over to the line of students.
Yuffie's smile soon faded. Guilt again rose inside her, and she was mentally cursing herself. She cursed herself for shouting at Shizuko. She cursed herself for making her worry. But most of all, she cursed herself for showing that she was ill. Truth is, she felt like passing out, but she couldn't' show this to Shizuko. Her job, was to make sure Shion didn't worry, not to to the complete opposite. And anyway, Yuffie has been like this her whole life; it'll soon pass. Yuffie was sure.

Ayato sat at the back of his art class, doodling on a sheet of paper that was once his homework.
He admired the quick doodle that he had been working on for the last 15 minutes. It was a simple chibi character of his own creation. He wished that he could be marked on fun sketches like these but instead he had to create masterpieces to live up to his teacher's expectations. His work had to say something. It had to be colourful, creative... And loud.
He always blamed his lack of creativity and skill with a paintbrush on his shy nature. He could never really release his imagination, due to his insecurity. What if the students laughed? What if the teacher gave him a low mark? What would his parents say?
Right now. for Ayato, he was content with C's and B's.
--------------------------------------
After the lesson had ended, Ayato had to let his built up emotions out some how. He had been thinking too in Art, and had gotten himself into a panicked state. There was only one thing that could help him calm down after an awful day at school.
Piano.
It's soothing melody always relaxed Ayato. It reminded him of his Mother giving him lessons from a young age. Creating music was always one of Ayato's favourite hobby's, and Piano was his favourite indtrument to play and to hear. It was one of Ayato's only talents, but he wouldn't trade it for the world.
He made his way to the music department located in a different building of the school, and he went in the room that was barely used. Everyone is more interested in Electric guitars and drums to ever play the piano, which Ayato was thankful for. He was never interrupted.
Ayato sat on the solid stool behind the piano. He took a deep breath, and played away.
He was playing one of the first songs he ever remembered learning called "Simple and Clean".
A weight was lifted. Ayato felt at ease again. He didn't intend to stop playing for hours.
-
Ayato was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't realise the girl enter the room. He continued playing with passion while thinking about... everything. From art to family, Ayato's thoughts we're all over the place. He didn't mind though. When he played the piano, he felt like a success. Nothing else mattered, except him and the sweet melody that he created.
Then he realised... Was that humming? Ayato snapped back into consciousness and looked around the room.
Well, he certainly wasn't expecting to see what he saw.
A pretty girl stood there, watching in awe as he played the piece. Ayato admired her dark hair full of volume, which contrasted, yet complimented her teal eyes. She was just... Adorable.
Ayato panicked, and stopped playing immediately. He sunk his head down, hiding any redness that was plastered on his face. Ayato just couldn't handle being around girls, but it was even worse that she had heard his music.
The silence was too much. Ayato built up the courage to try and start a conversation.
"Uh- Do you... uhm... Need something from in here?"
-
Ayato dared a glance at the dark haired girl. Wait... was she blushing? As he was looking at the girl, he could feel his face heat up, forcing him to hide his face under his hair.
Ayato! SAY SOMETHING!! The growing silence between them was growing unbelievably awkward.
Okay Ayato, JUST RELAX. She complimented you, so thank her! Then, introduce yourself! She seemed to recognise the song, so you guys might even become friends! It's all about making that first step!
"U-uhm... Th-thank you..." Ayato managed in a soft voice. "It's a piece my Mother taught me when I was young... I.. uh... think it's a really nice melody.."
Keep going Ayato! Introduce yourself! You can do this!
Ayato stood up and faced the girl. His cheeks felt like fire, and he was sure the girl would notice. Consequently, this made him blush even more. She was going to think he was such a freak!
"I'm... uh... Tachibana... Ayato Tachibana"
