"Wait-- maybe it was THE shadow," Reedflower said, recalling the dreams.

"Yes, all of them," Firestorm said, thinking about all the queens' new kits.
Ooc: according to warriors, the pregnancies only last 2 moons. How far along are all the queens?
I should be the least far along, and Willownight should be the most. I'm only 1 moon along.

"No! You can't!" Reedflower called after her.
She sighed.
Of course, she didn't listen,Reedflower thought. Reedflower then raced to ThunderClan as fast as she could, but only an elder was there.
"You've got to listen, elder! So Ripplerain's kits were stolen, and they think ThunderClan did it because I smelled ThunderClan and darkness! And now they're attacking!" Reedflower mewed quickly.
"My name is Seedfire," said the elder, dipping her head. "Did the darkness smell like crowfood and blood?"
"Why, yes," Reedflower replied.
"The dark forest! I told ThunderClan, but they didn't want to listen to me!"
"My clan didn't listen to me either. Where did ThunderClan go?"
"WindClan," the old she cat rasped.
"I'll go there right now. Thanks! May StarClan light your path, Seedfire!"

"Shadowkit, can you go get me a vole?" Firestorm said. "I'll give you some!"

"Thank you Shadowkit, I promise you'll get to play with my kits just as soon as they're old enough, and you'll never be left out with them, because you can teach all of them new games!" Firestorm mewed gratefully, her eyes meeting with Willownight's as she tore off both of the vole's hind legs for the kit, making a silent promise to always be there for Shadowkit.

"And Willownight, thank you too."

"It is my first time as well, I'm just as worried as she is. Plus, with three expecting queens AND a kit in the nursery in leaf bare, it's natural to worry, even if the medicine cat had seasons of experience. Here, you want some vole? I'm not very hungry, I shared a thrush with Foxclaw earlier." The younger queen meowed to Willownight.

"Wolfstar, I need to talk to you. Who will take my place as deputy?" Firestorm asked, sitting down and exposing her swollen belly to the leader. "And, who will mentor Emberpaw? I taught him how to hunt, and he's really good at hunting, but he still needs to improve on his fighting and tunneling. And I haven't done any night training with him! Can I help you select a temporary deputy and mentor for my temporary last decision as deputy?"

"You're welcome. You need milk -- for your kits. All of them," the kindhearted queen mewed, glancing at Shadowkit, who was happily tucked in at the black queen's swollen belly, sleeping.

"No, you're very helpful Shadowkit! When you become an apprentice, you'll be the elders' favorite! If there are any elders by then," the ThunderClan queen purred.

"Four more moons though! Be a carefree kit for as long as you can. You'll miss that when you're older," Firestorm said gently to the kit. "Hold on to your happiness."

"Okay," Firestorm called after him. "Have fun! I'll tell Willownight where you've gone when she wakes up!"
