[font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]a cry replaced the eerie silence that followed olivepaw's death. bastillekit wriggled towards the lifeless form of his mother, searching for warmth. instead his touch found a disturbing coldness that was rapidly growing stronger with each moment. letting out another yelp, the kitten squirmed backwards and bumped into a large, warm form. little did he know that this form was his new mother, his single mother at that. well, it was warm and bastille was too tired to become paranoid because of it. as he snuggling up to redpaw, a purr resounding against the mournful aura of the scene, letting the group know that a life was making up for the recent death.

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]bastillekit was curled up beside a tree, his large light eyes constantly moving from side to side to warn him of any potential predators. bas was always very paranoid that someone was watching him, or that he would be pounced on at any second. this is why the copy paper white kitten was always uncomfortable around strangers and only truly trusted his mother, redolive, his uncle, outbackpaw, and his sort of aunt whitepaw. those three had always been there for him and had never shown signs of possessing a drive to hurt him. bastille's whiskers twitched and he blinked a few times before his train of thought resumed its journey. the two moon old kitten had never wondered why his mother was single. he just thought that it was normal to have a single mother. he didn't let his mind linger on the idea of whether or not someone else had previously been in the picture. he just thought it was perfectly normal. she always seemed a little off, though, like there was a lingering sadness in the back of her mind. all of his guardians actually seemed a little off at times. outtie and his mommy always seemed vaguely depressed and whitepaw always seemed a little confused all the time. it didn't bother the kitten, though. he loved them a lot and that was all that mattered to him.

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]bastille's eyes would almost impossibly widen as his clanmates crowded around him. there were so mamy strangers. where was his mommy? his uncle? neither of the two were present in the evergrowing sea of possible predators. bas felt his heartbeat grow in strength and tears began to pool into his optics. "where's my mommy?" he would not talk to these strange people without redolive by his side. the red tabby was his protector. "i need mommy, please." the kitten tried to stay calm and casual as he spoke, just in case the crowd turned on him if he happened to speak in a panicked manner. his form soon began to melt into invisibility, but bas didn't notice until he looked down at his paws. oh, thank goodness for that! bastillekit did not have a clue what had happened to his paws, but if they were gone then surely the people couldn't see him!

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]bastillekit meekly followed his uncle, a twisted expression of halfheartedly hidden fear on his features. bas noticed that this stranger did not look all that threatening, but they were bigger and stronger than himself, and that scared him out of his wits. the wolf could hurt the kitten and his uncle, and that is why his wide unblinking blue eyes were fixed upon the pup in a cautious manner. he was always on alert, always suspicious of hidden motives. some might say that he was a bit paranoid. even though he knew that the small wolf could attack, he also knew that outbackpaw could take him. he was big and strong, and bas looked up to him, literally and figuratively. the pup, however, could possibly injure his secondary caretaker, and the vanilla ice cream cone white kit did not want that at all.

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]bastillekit watched in utter horror as his uncle was bitten by a fox from afar. his wide wintery blue visionaries blinked a few times while he tried to figure out what to do. he wanted to save outbackpaw, but the foxes could possibly bite him as well. oh well, it was his uncle, and he would save the cream tabby from the impending doom that the foxes were forcing upon him. trying to shake his fears away, bastillekit rose from his sitting position and charged into battle. his mouth drawn into a thin line, bas could feel himself pale under his fur and a wave of anxiety overtook his senses. he could feel his chest begin to tighten in time with the oncoming storm of fear, but he was already in the deep end. raising a small paw, the kitten aimed to smack the attacking fox as hard as he possibly could and hopefully send it flying off of his uncle.

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]bastillekit waddled over to stand behind his uncle, occasionally peering out to observe the strangers. hopefully they weren't bloodthirsty. bas raised his paw to wave at lunakit, his cousin, then quickly disappeared into the safe confines of outback's shadow once more. his chest constricted with anxiety, and he hoped that his uncle could take the strangers if they turned on him. maybe the cream tabby could. he was strong and muscular, unlike bas, who was small and scrawny. the kitten looked even smaller in the wake of outtie's shadow.

[justify][font=georgia][size=7pt][color=#FA5882]"ba-bastillekit." it was a weak, anxiety ridden whisper that had filled the void of silence which engulfed the group after pluto let his previous words escape his lips. he shuffled his small paws in the dirt nervously and waited for a response. people usually thought his name was unique, and his mom always said that it was a lovely name for a boy. he admired his mom a lot even though she smoked occasionally.
