Alaska was racing the crow who flew above her head, muscles rippling under her already muscular body. Her heart raced with her legs, and her eyes would stare up at the sky. That's when it happened. She stopped abruptly, hearing a deafening crack and falling forward onto her chest and face. She felt something sharp cutting into her paw, crushing the bone and enabling her to move. It all came to her. The realization, the pain, the terror. She opened her jaws and let out a pitiful whimper.
