Tadeshi sat on the tile floor in the dark. They had no electricity and the floor was cold. Her back was against the door, and her face was damp with tears. It always happened. She always lost anyone she tried to obtain. Every single time. She tried to give up her attachment on her first love, but it always lingered in her mind. Now with this fascination on a new person, she had lost again to someone else. The other one reminded her of herself. Elison. They even looked the same, acted the same, had an obsession. At least an inch. I didn't have the habit of chewing them, so they stayed long. I ran them over my teeth between my lips and sighed, my amber eyes grazing over Maya as her movement almost unsettled me in the dark of the room. I moved my elbows from my lap as she laid her head down singing my name. I took my hands from my mouth and brushed them on my shirt, moving my legs to make it more appropriate due to my skirt. I laid one hand on her chest (not her boobs lol) and one on her hair, slowly rubbing down.
"I love you too." I replied.

Tadeshi scratched her arm and turned her head to the side. It was still too dark to see. With a huff, she placed her hand on the marble counter and pulled herself to her feet. There was no way she could let Elison do something so idiotic as to become a magical girl. She'd drag Maya into it and another innocent soul couldn't be forced to lose any humanity they have due to the damn contacts. "I'll never let that happen." She put her hand on the knob.

My amber eyes were wide with fear. I brought my legs to my chest and pulled them close to me with my arms. My bangs fell into my eyes and I stared up at Maya. She walked to the door and said that she would check it out, but I was scared for her. Without wanting to stand in fear of both of us being visible, I stayed against the wall and moved my legs down before crawling after her, flinching once the door opened.

"What the hell was that?" The bathroom door swung open and out came Tadeshi quickly speeding into the room, her dark figure looming in front of me. I shrieked at the sound and pressed back against the wall with my back. She looked from the floor to Maya. "What are yo-" She sped up behind Maya and swung her arm around the side shutting the door in the process. "We're supposed to be in hiding." She snapped. "Don't be calling out or welcoming what could be out there.." She rubbed her temple.

"You have to be careful." She said in a softer voice, seeing how her approach had frightened the girl. "I just don't want anything bad to happen.. There's nothing out there you can trust. Everything is eventually just going to betra-.." She looked between the girls and smiled. "Nothing ever lasts."
Tadeshi knew that little fuck was outside waiting. She knew it wanted them. She knew it was going to tear this entire thing apart. Everything she has been trying to defend and protect. Maya was the new goal. She had lost Madoka, but she knew that she would see her soon. Eventually. She wouldn't let anyone else have the same fate as her. She didn't want anyone else to be with Madoka. "No one." She snapped her gaze up and rushed to the door, throwing it open and slamming it behind her racing into the dark of the night.

I stared for a long long time, before Maya broke me from my fearful trance. I was so shocked by Tadeshi's words that I could barely comprehend. What the hell was she even talking about? Betrayal? Not to trust anything? Tadeshi had been treated like royalty by Scarlett. What had happened to hurt her so badly? Nothing ever lasts.. What could have happened? "Betray you? Maya.. I don't think I could ever do that." I replied furrowing my brows. "You won't be tray me either, right Maya? I'm scared too... I don't want to lose you.." I was already falling apart as it seemed. I couldn't lose her on top of everything else I've given up.

My knees hit the table every time I try to move and I eventually pull myself back up and sigh before leaning on my elbows against the table. It's early in the afternoon so it's going to take a while for the customers to start rolling in, but Scarlett still placed me out here to take tickets. "Hatsuyo-san!" I yell, cringing slightly at the Japanese honorifics I was expected to use. She popped out from the tent moments later. "Elison what is it? I'm watching the performers." She replied cooly. "Trade me?" She stared at me and rolled her eyes before shooing me off the chair. "She's going to be pissed." I chuckled and strolled into the tent. Scarlett, my aunt, had gone out for groceries. It had been a few days since the performers had eaten, so me and Hatsuyo-chan had to literally beg her to get something. For once, she listened. I was only fifteen while Hatsuyo was going to be seventeen soon so she left her in charge, again. I was glad she trusted me enough to take her place.

Gliding into Scarlett's office, I grabbed a half eaten sandwich and started to finish it off, plopping down into her chair. Overall, the circus was silent. I had never exactly been inside the performer's area since I wasn't allowed, but I knew they had their own area. I wonder.. This had been the first time I had been permitted inside my Hatsuyo.. With the sandwich in hand, I went behind the forbidden curtain, only to practically choke at the sight. There was a large wall, almost plastic looking, that formed into a sort of box around the performers. Soundproof, I imagined. A large place for a key to be entered was in the center of the door. I hurried back to the office and fished around in drawers before finding said key and returning to the door. Slipping the brass key inside, I opened the door and was greeted with screams and sobs from the caged performers. [/fancypost]

I had come to the realization as to why I was never allowed in here. The steps back I hadn't realized that I had taken were retraced as I came farther into the horrid, horrid room. The floor was dirt. It was littered with cages and trash. Blood. Hair. Disgusting. Some areas were burned with some sort of acid as it seemed, and peels of rotting fruit and flowers were spread across the floor. The scariest thing of it all was the faces. All the faces that looked to me as I walked into the room. I shut the door behind me on command by accident and a mere habit as my fear instinct took over. I grew a bit hostile as eyes met mine. Dim, hungry eyes. Dirty pale faces stared at me from the bars. Skinny children in dirty ripped clothing lay broken in their cages. I cried.

I was mortified. Scarlett had told me this was a haven for people like us. People who were different. She said she gave them a place in this world by letting them show their talents in a safe place. With every step I took, the more the lie gave in. The lie she told me. I looked to all the children who were trapped her, and continued to cry. All the shouting had stopped with my opening of the door, and I felt exposed. "H-hello." I announced. "I-I know all of you, b-but you don't know me. I'm Elison." My voice shook with each word. I didn't want to add that I was related to Scarlett or that I was even associated with her, I just wanted to help. "I-I'm just like all of you.. I-"

"Bull shit! Look at you, you pampered bitch! How can you say you're anything like us?" Then the room exploded into a riot. Almost everyone was screaming and hitting things. Yelling profanities and such. "Stop." I whispered. "EVERYONE STOP!" I sent a blast of air against all the cages and collapsed witht he force. "Please. I don't want to be your enemy." I swept my eyes across the crowd. "I-I..." I threw the sandwich into one of the cages, that of a girl with silver hair. "I want to help!" I rushed from the room and into the supply closet of where we kept food for ourselves. Throwing everything into bags, I rushed back into the room and carefully unlocked each door with closed eyes and an open mind. "Please, feed yourselves! I have medicine! I can treat wounds. I want to help!"

Everyone began to rush out of the cages to the bags I had brought, but then the door slammed open.[/fancypost]

I, still on the floor, looked up at my aunt. "I would like to mainly know, what the hell you think you're doing." My eyes widened. For once, she truly terrified me. I was used to her yelling, but now I was looking up to her cold brown eyes which burned with nothing but hatred. She jerked me up by my arm before I jerked it back.
