OOC. Cool :) Just thought I would check :)

There was already something within her that told the cub that Blue was definitely someone who she should stick closely to, it was almost as if he was a big brother and her only a small toddler. Quite certainly, because of the husky's act of kindness, a strong friendship was forming. It had become clear that neither he nor Firebeat had much in the way of family of there own and both seemed to be quite open toward her. She didn't know it yet but maybe this was the start of something between the the three of them. Time would tell but currently Flute felt the protective paw of the canine come over her and she shuffled under it, almost so that she was sitting just under his chest with his warm black and white fur blanketing her. It was so warm and cozy it was impossible not feel safe, relaxed even. Ever so gently she snuggled her head bottom of his chin, purring softly and quietly in thanks and almost sisterly affection.

The darkness swallowed her up but at least it was better then being out in the open and venerable like she was before. Out there she was open to any kind of attack, that she knew too well. that was why she had dragged herself in here and refused to come out even when the tabby tried to take her by the scruff, that just induced a great deal of yelping that were aimed to deter the the apprentice from 'attacking' (as she thought it) her any more. But then something happened before her very eyes. The tabby disappeared and was reappeared as a leopardess. That just scared the living daylights out of Flute who had never experienced any powers at all. Quickly she backed away further into the branches, hissing as she went. But something of a more soothing tone became apparent in the older HawkClaner's voice and things didn't seem as scary for a moment. Very slowly she inched a little more forward and looked upon a face no too dissimilar to her own. Though unnerved by the phenomenon it was still rather intriguing.

The young cub was not exactly accustomed to letting her creative side come out. In fact she really doubted if she had one. Or at least she would do if she knew what one was. Art and beauty were not something that she practiced often or had any experience of because before coming into ht clan there had been either no time or no way of doing it. Nature's beauty she knew of, anyone and everybody could see the flwers when they walked the paths of the forest or made their way along the back from time to time but things of splendor made by intelligent beings such as themselves, Flute was not familiar with. That was why when Blue seemed to get excited over the announcement she puzzled as to why, yet she trotted along behind him and cuddled close to him when stopping amongst the crowd.

Flute padded up behind Blue, eagerly trying to keep up with the one who had become sort of like an adoptive big brother to her before realizing that this gathering was set to be a big one with quite a number of clans members already breaking the silence of the beach and creating a band of characters upon the silvery sands. It was quite unnerving, just like any crowd for the young cub. That was why she almost always made sure that she was not even a menter away from Blue who was a great comfort to her at times like this. Nevertheless she looked around the great open expanse and found a little inner peace how beautifully untrodden the shore line looked as it was just after high tide so the sands were still smooth. The area that they stood on now was not so perfect now that they had been disturbed by their little group but this gave way to the finding of secrets. It showed its self first when she was sitting down close to the husky and her foot scraped along the surface of the sand so that a layer was taken off and reveled underneath a spiraling sort of shell. After a little bit of digging she plucked it out and it seemed as if it was bigger then she first though. In fact she had found a conch, a perfectly salmon pink and ivory white conch. A small smile appeared on the youngsters face who looked to Blue for a moment to see if he had seen but then a thought struck her. He had been so kind to her, maybe he would like it? Carefully, as if scared it would break with the slightest touch she nudged it over the small distance to in front of the canines paws before tapping at his shoulder to alert him to the gift.

What the hell had she signed herself up for? Really? Well...She hadn't exectly signed up but got caughtin the rush to and was counted anyway but she was 2 moons old, too young to have a mate of any sort. Even if she was, currently there was not much in the way of friendship in her life, how the hell was she meant to talk to another and expect to 'fall in love' with them or vis versa before she felt the need to escape the loop and run far far away into the unknown in fear of something or other. That was what made her tremble. That was what told her to sprint away now and hide so that there would be no need to interact with her pairing. But yet there was another feeling that told her to go on. She would get told off if she didn't and then kicked from the clan. Then where would she be? Very slowly she made her way across the beach, looking toward the blanket that had been set out in order to try and see who was there. It was only when the cub was close it was possible to tell that her partner was in fact the tabby she had met first on the boarder not two days ago and something relaxed with in her. At least it wasn't a stranger and the tabby come leopardess had been kind upon their meeting but would she be so much now? Maybe not, annoyance and anger that it was just her might spark a different reaction but it was too late to turn back now. Why too late.

It still surprised her that he should be so kind and gwntle with him even when there was no real reason to be, she had not done anything for him really, why should he do anything for her? But still he was always a few steps in front and if he wasnt he would always make sure she was near for him to see her and that was what really kept her sane amoungst all the new people and big crowds, knowing that her adoptive big brother was near by. It was a strange feeling that told her to be close to him at first, insinct pushed her toward him. Maybe being so desprite for someone, anyone who could bring her out of the depths of loneliness but ashe had show his worth first, he was the one that she had gravitated to. Soft purs warmed her throat as she rubbed her little pink nose upon his shoulder affectionatly and in thanks for likeing her gift. It was really the least that she could do for him, maybe in time she might repay him for his kindness.

Flute couldnt help but notice that the femme come leopardess was still here. She thought her dodge under the bushes might have annoyed her so much that she would either try and get at her from under here or at very least stop wasting her time to go do something more of ause then chacing after her. Though this theory had never been tested out before now, it didnt seem to be going the way that she had expected it to but maybe that was a good thing. A little intriged she listerned carefully to the other leopardess just because it was interesting to find out a little about people lives even the when the people themselves scared the hell out of her but hat was nearly everyone, there was no change there. The adult spoke of what she had done, why she had changed and though still terrified it was calming to know a little more about the 'power' even if it was still very little. As for hea4ing about her expirence joining the clan, it didnt really seem all that differant from her own, only thatshe had nearly died from her wounds gathered before entering. Other then that there was the fear, the angxoty but also she spoke of her sisters and howthey had calmed her and she herself thought of Blue. Her adoptive big brother. This was one of the rare occasions when she was not snapping at his heal, he was in the den taking a rest but not wanting to wake him she had gone exploring. He might be worrying about her, she thought, he seemed have developed a habit of keeping an eye on her all the time. Maybe he might get a little scared if she was not there. Slowly the cub seemed to move a little forward out of the bramble barbs, just to look down the bush covered slope to the camp to see if she could see the huskey running around after her. There was no sign yet so she relaxed herself and lay her head down her paws, looking to the other snow loeopard with a little more ease in her heart.

Guilt felt like a massively heavy bolder and it hung in her heart as such, forcing it down into the depths of her body. The look that the tabby gave upon seeing her approching was just so painful because the cub knrw that she had been expecting someone that could at least be of an age when a date would be normal but 2 moons old was not so. There were probally many other reason why the tabby should have just stormed off there and then without a word but at least she attempted at making this work bt greeting her though it still felt so wrong, she expected this would be the perfect first dare for those who were a match but the two of them certainly were not. It almost made her want to cry, the preasure. She had always thought it was because of lots of peope or new people that she felt so inward but these two had met before and she was trembling with fear. Oh why could she not be with Blue? Her brother? Not on a date but just playing, doing something other then this. Why the hell had she let herself be dragged into this in the first place? Why was she even here? These taunts that she enflicted upon herself just made her eyes roll with small cub sized tears as she nodded to the apprentice but stayed a number of feet away from the blanket. The awkwardness just felt so crushing and she didnt know what to do.

Young Flute was almost panicking out of her wits. She had spent most of the morning, after the gathering on the beach, up in the trees by the boarder with Steropaw and was just coming back down in search of her big brother when at first he was no where to be seen, well, not by her anyway. For a hour or two the cub had been running around and around the camp, calling out for Blue but there had been no anwser, not even when she went to the nursery den where she had left him or at least thought she did. It had nearly gotten to the point when she was to conclude that he had gone forever, maybe in his anger at her leaving him he decided that he didn't want a little sister any more so ran away to some far away place when she could not find him. Her world crumbled, her little heart broke and her mind refused to function. What would she do now without her brother? For a few minutes she moped around the rocks, crying and whining as if in mourning for the husky who she had come to love in the few day that she had been within the clan. A glimmer of hope set off a spark in her heart then a shining beckon bore light when from the other side of the rock, someone answered to his name. Being a little short she had to climb upon the rock and sure enough on the other side, the black and white canine sat with a crowd gathering around him with the conch she had gifted him around his neck. But n that moment, that didn't really matter. With a squeal of delight the snow leopard bounded down off the stone and immediately started to nuzzle at Blues side until she worked her way under his paw, just like she had been when they had been watching the beetle up by the den. All at once the warm, soft, downy fur of her brother engulfed her and she felt protected and safe once again. It took a few moments for her calm herself down and be reassured that he was there but once so the light caught of the shell and her eyes were turned to it. He had kept her gift! A look of surprise must have shot across her face in that moment but it was true, she could not believe it. Gently she tapped it with her paw, scared it might disappear like smoke at the slightest touch but it didn't, it was there. Just like the love for her brother, it was real, complete and beautiful.

Flute had been following Blue as best she could per usual, it was just instinct to do where ever her adoptive big brother went because he was big and strong and could do anything because he was Blue, her big brother! The cub genuinely believed that if the husky ever wanted to he could fly to the moon and back because he was the guardian there had ever been and that was the sort of thing that little ones believed when they were so young. She would follow him anywhere without a doubt or question as to why. That was why she had come over to the gathering, despite hearing the anger in the voice of the one they were approaching which scared her immensely. Angry was the root of violence, she knew that too well and though violence could steam from other branches, rage had given her the injuries, now thin scars that marked her back and ever present fear of everything. The youngster was terrified but still she went with the husky and curled up between his paws, trembling and whining with fear even when she had turned away and dug her head into the underside of Blue's belly.

Fear sort of changed its origin after a while from the other leopardess herself to the way that she was staring at her. She really didn't know what to make of her smile, what to do, it was always there but yet it sort seemed irreverent. Had she done something to deserve a smile? Was there something that she was missing? All questions she asked herself as she peered back at Steropaw, sometime looking up into her eyes from time to time as she ran her paws along the ground to see if there was anything she could make or if she was still staring and every time it seemed that the shape-shifting tabby was in fact still looking at her for some mystery reason. The cub just could not get her head around it.

There was little that needed to be said now, there was so much that could be said that would break that hard, thick ice that seemed to wrap itself around the situation and capture them both in a incubator where awkwardness breed and grew like wild fire. Only physical pain could possibly make the situation worse, even then, they would be lucky. Physical pain would at least take their mind of how bad this whole ordeal was for them both. They had no problem with each other, not really, it was just that they had not expected each other at all. Silently she nodded to the tabby who she couldn't even bare to look up at before turning on her heals and sprinting away back to the camp in order to find Blue.

In that moment Flute could ask for nothing more, everything was just fine and dandy with not a problem troubling her heart now. Why would there be? She had her big brother back now and that was all that mattered. After a few hours of terror it felt even better to curl up with him, laying between his big strong paws and pur happily as his nose came down to touch the crown of her head. And the best thing was? That was simple. The cub was learning about what love was and there had never been a better demonstration then now and she was a part of it. Affections were shared between them both, all gentle and tender but strong. If one was need proof, one only had to look at the shell around Blue's neck. A gift of sisterly love to her brother which he kept with him because it was from her. The cubs long tail came winding around the husky's neck as she was nudged closer and her head snuggled in as far as it could to the think fur on front. Softly purring, it was almost as if she were asleep between his paws.

Of course there would never be a time when Flute would not trust her big brother with her life but there would be times when even with that certainty and protections, fear just didn't want to relinquish its hold on her. There would also be moments in life when past experience came back to her in a horrible way, the sights and pain from her past too much to bare as if burst out from her memories in way that was almost as if she was there again. This was not an uncommon occurrence for Flute admittedly, there had been a number times when scared when she had been reminded of the terrors that had ultimately brought her to where she was now but to the best of her ability she had tried to hide these under the fear to be expected form such a young cub in the situations that it arose in. Now there was a little of that feeling, certainly she was warned by instinct of what had been before so the cub continued to nuzzle and quake and whine at her brother despite his calm, tender words as they blazed infernos in her head. As if to anchor her bother or to secure herself to him, her tail came around his back leg and held tightly upon it just like the dismay clasped onto her.

The snow leopard could feel that her brother was not only trying to protect her fears now but from those that surrounded them, all the strange, new people she knew little of and feared highly because of their density in numbers. Even though it was a simple and small crowd it was enough to unnerve her, that theroy had already been proven and she prayed that she didn't have to face it again. But Blue protected her, Blue always came to her rescue because he was the best big brother in the world. She felt how close he was pulling her, to the point when she was shielded from the rest of the group by his body which helped because it was almost like it was just them two. Tenderly she licked with her little pink tongue the underside of his chin because that was only where she could reach up to and purred against the soft of his front, slowly becoming more reassured that he was there to stay and that no harm would come to her, even if there was anger within her sights.

There was only one place on earth where Flute felt safe when she was not by Blue's side, that was, after the time when she had thought him to be dead or missing somewhere and her heart broke because he could not be found by the short snow leopard. That special place was within the nursery den, the small cavern in which she had been place when recovering from her injuries and where she had met the husky for the first time. It was not as snug and warm as hiding in amongst her brothers fur but the dark, enclosed space was comfy just to sleep and relax in. If one had been looking for as Blue was, it would be within the cove that she was to be found and where she came bounding out from as soon as he big brother called her. Even if in the best dream imaginable or the deepest nightmare, if Blue called she would always come. Across the camp came sprinting the cub who as soon as she was close enough, ducked under the huskys body and crawled between his paws, a small innocent smile show for only him given up as she poked her head out so it was just beneath his.
