Yato looked down at his phone indecisively. He COULD call Hiyori, and he felt stupid for not thinking of it before, but then again...was now a good time? Since Hiyori had built him that shrine, that wonderful little shrine, Yato found himself a tad more concerned with domestics, for Hiyori's sake in the very least. Before, he wouldn't have hesitated for a second, just flip open the phone and start calling, but for once, Yato didn't want to be a bother. Was he...no...he couldn't be...turning a little more human, could he? Well, apparently not, because as soon as Yukine mentioned the donut idea, those blue eyes shifted from hesitation to greed, and Yato was dialing away.

The upperclassman had been keen to study Hiyori's movements, the way her eyes flitted uncomfortably, her polite smiles, her finger-tracing. She was just interesting to...observe. Fujisaki was well aware that she was a much shyer girl than the ones he'd ever dated, and that made every one of her idiosyncrasies so appealing. Point-blank, she was cute and different, and Fujisaki liked that. It took the boy a moment to answer her question, simply because he was busy watching her. "Never tried it before." Finally, his gaze moved to his own menu, searching for the tempura. Cheap price...only 100 yen? "If you want it, order it," he told her, tossing his menu to the side. Realizing his action may have appeared...not so gentlemanly, he smiled back at her. The warmer she felt inside, the better. Have to let her know that I'm a cool guy, that she doesn't have to be shy.

(Oh cool! Did you meet him/her online or..? And, how do you think I'm doing? Am I capturing the characters alright?)

Just as Fujisaki was about to answer her, Hiyori's phone rang. At first, the interruption annoyed him, but of course Hiyori couldn't help it. The boy held up his hand to signal, "Go ahead." Just a phone call, and I'm sure it's just her mom checking up. Then he heard Hiyori say the name, "Yato." A boy's name...was that her brother, perhaps? She'd mentioned having a brother once, but what was he doing calling her at...Fujisaki checked his watch...9 p.m.? It was a tad concerning, but then again, there were a few other things about Hiyori which concerned Fujisaki. He'd learned about her sleeping spells from her friend Yama, and she'd seemed very troubled at Capypaland, of all places, yet he'd never found out what for. Yet, everyone had their quirks.

Relief washed over Yato's heart at the sound of Hiyori's voice, relief he hadn't even known he needed. "Hiyori!" he cheerfully answered. "So glad you picked up!" He glanced over at his regalia as he continued, rubbing his nails cooly against his tracksuit. "Poor Yukine here was worried sick about you not showing up today. Just wouldn't stop nagging me to call you to see you were alright," this, of course, was complete CRAP. "But of course, I knew you probably had better to do than worry about us, but I finally gave in. So..." his tone shifted to concern. "What are you up to?"

Although the hit really didn't hurt Yato at all, he still had to make some deal out of it by yelping and jumping backward upon "impact." Once he'd sorted himself, he shouted, "Show a little respect, you punk!" Though, he had no right to expect Yukine to meet his demand, as there was nothing to respect about the god at the moment. However, something broke Yato's ignorant behavior...it was what Hiyori had said...something about a "date." A date??? "Hang on a second," Yato chuckled into the phone, unable to believe that HIYORI was on a DATE. Probably just a joke! "Did you say you were on a date?"

The commotion on the other end of the line was enough for Fujisaki to hear from where he was sitting, and his concern only grew. So, there are two guys desperate to know how my date's doing... His gaze was one of suspicion as he stared across at Hiyori. Surely she didn't have...others. She was a shy girl, after all... Then it hit the boy. Was this why she ran from me that one time in the hall? Because she felt guilty about when I kissed her and she had others? Is this why she was sad at Capypaland? Things were getting a little out of hand.

Yato glanced at Yukine, a glimmer of shock in his eyes. Okay...this is okay! But what could he say? He had no clue, because he didn't know what he himself felt towards the situation yet. "Nothing," he answered the girl, rubbing his nose reflectively. "Just doesn't seem like you. And the whole thing with...your body...I haven't fixed it yet." One may have thought what he meant by this was that Hiyori could collapse in her food any given moment, that Yato wouldn't want her to make herself an embarrassment, but the truth was...that was the thing that was keeping them together, right? Sounded to him like she was moving on despite her "handicap." Yato couldn't help but be a little possessive of the girl. "Is he safe?"

Fujisaki just waited patiently, but thankfully, the waiter came to the table. Hopefully that would get Hiyori to hang up.

(Sorry I dragged this out. I promise, the main plot still is Yukine's thing)
