As soon as the teacher stated the lecture I began taking notes. My notes were always pretty thorough, not that they needed to be, I knew most of what we were being taught already. I had over 100% in this class, but that was my grade in all of my classes, so it's not like that was a surprise.
About halfway into the class the teacher uttered the two words that sent a slight shudder down my spine: partner project. There were very few people in this classroom that I could tolerate long enough to be partners with, and no matter who I got I would probably be the one doing all the work. It was better for me to just do the project alone.
Names were listed off in pairs and finally I heard my name, "Asher Williams and Emily Carter." My breath caught in my throat as my eyes shifted to the gorgeous girl seated across the room, immediately I looked back down at my notes. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't attracted to her, but then again it was likely that all straight guys in this school thought she was beautiful. I could already feel the jealous glares of some of the guys sitting nearby.
-
I flinched as whispers and laughter spread around the room, by now I should be used to it, given how often it happened, but I still hated it. Thankfully, the bell rang and most everyone left. I began packing my bag when I heard the chair next to me pull out and someone sit in it. I nervously looked up from my pack and was surprised to see Emily.
"Emily, uh...h..hi." My voice wavered as I sat up, I hadn't really expected her to talk to me even though we were partners, at least not in such a friendly tone. After a moment of her looking at my notes she took my glasses. I almost tried to stop her, thinking she might brake them, but once I realized my glasses were in no danger I relaxed. A smirk escaped my lips when she asked me how she looked. "Quite blurry," I squinted as I spoke. "You're a pretty blur though." The words came out as a whisper.
-
The soft pink color that appeared in Emily's cheeks astounded me, surely she must get complements like that thousands of times in a day, she was too beautiful not to. Perhaps she was just embarrassed that a loser like me was telling her she was pretty.
I carefully took the invite and examined it, "I, um..." I hesitated, not completely sure what to say. Never in my life had I been to a real party, but I had a good feeling that most of the people who go to those parties would not be happy to see me there. Except Emily that is, she wanted me to be her plus one, it was possible she had ulterior motives, but I couldn't turn her down. "Sure thing, that'd be fun." I took her hand and shook it gently as her hand was soft and somehow felt fragile in My own.
A grin appeared on my face as she blew a kiss, Emily was much nicer than her friends. I watched her leave and then got up, with my bag in hand and made my way to my next class.
OOC: Should we time skip to the end of the school day/ another time if you want?
-
I sat in my car having a mental debate over whether I should actually go to this party or not. I was dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans, all ready to go, but I was too nervous to start the car. What if this was just some kind of prank, I mean why would a girl like that want me to go to a party with her? Or maybe I wasn't giving her enough credit, she had been very nice to me, and I did tell her I would be there, so I can't back out now. With a deep breath I put the key in the ignition and drove off the the address Emily had given me.
I could hear the pounding music as I walked up to the front door, for a moment I considered knocking, but it was doubtful that anyone would hear, so I opened the door and stepped in. Most people seemed too caught up in dancing and drinking to notice me, but those who did see me glared. I glanced around the room uncomfortably when a hand grabbed my shoulder. "I don't recall inviting you, loser, so why don't you shove off before I make you."
I turned to see a very large angry jock, "I..I....um."
-
That's fine, I'll be busy for a lot of tomorrow, so I probably won't post until later in the day.
-
Relief washed over me as Emily came over and sent the brute off with his tail between his legs. "Thanks." I smiled, a little shocked that she had defended me and claim that I would make this party better.
My smile wavered slightly as I looked down at my clothes, blushing at her comment, "l-laid?" Fashion was definitely not one of my strong suits, so I could kind of see where she was coming from. Though, it wasn't like a really cool outfit would improve my social status that much, everyone would still be able to see how dorky I was.
"So...uh, what do you want to do?" I questioned glancing around at the unfamiliar scene. There seemed to be a lot of drinking and dancing going on. Well, not quite dancing, grinding would be a better word for it, which made my cheeks go red again.
-
I stared down at the drink for a moment, considering that the only alcohol I ever had was a sip of wine, this was quite a leap. However, I would do just about anything Emily asked me to do because she was being so kind to me. So, with that I downed the drink, cringing slightly at the burning sensation that resulted. Immediately, I could feel a buzz that made me feel a little more comfortable. "Shopping? Okay, as long as I get to see more of your beautiful face that is fine by me." With my lowered inhibitions it was much easier to say what I was thinking.
Soon I was being lead onto the dance floor, I had no clue how to dance, but I wasn't as nervous as I would have been without Emily there. For once in my life I stopped thinking and just moved to the music, imitating what those near us were doing.
-
I kept dancing, feeling more confident with every shot I took. The burn slowly became more bearable. Though, I did have sense enough to slow down on the drinking, as it was my first time having an excessive amount of alcohol and I was feeling more and more tipsy by the minute. "This is fun, I'm really glad you invited me." My voice was barely loud enough to be heard over the pounding music. I grabbed Emily's hand gently and twirled her. "Why have you been so nice to me?"

Hey, this sounds like a great thread, mind if I join?
-
Great! Are you going to make the first post?
-
Hey would you be interested in starting this thread up again? Maybe from the beginning, or we could continue from where we were.
-
I agree with Rowlet, it sounds to me like he is interested. If you're into him just take the initiative to talk to him. Say hi, or ask him how he is. Some guys need a push in the right direction before they make their feelings clear.
-
This sounds like a great plot, I'm going to get started on a form but I probably won't be able to post until later today because I have to get some Christmas shopping done this morning.
-
Cool! Do you wanna continue of start over? I'm fine with either.
-
I just used your form, I hope that's alright.

"Would it be cliche of me to say that life is perfect?" Piper is just about one of the kindest people on this planet. She can be too trusting of people because she believes there is good in everyone. This trusting nature came from being very sheltered while she was growing up. Often times she seems very innocent to the ways of the world, which how she got the nickname "Baby". Her Dad owns his own company, so their family is quite well off. She got most everything she ever wanted as a kid, but thankfully did not become a spoiled brat because of it. She loves painting and would love to have that as a career, but her parents wanted her to have something to fall back on, which is why she also plans to major in journalism.

Piper smiled, taking in the bright sunshine and heat. She absolutely adored the warmth, as it gave her the opportunity to dawn one of the sundresses in her extensive collection, today's was white with a deep v-neck. The lovely weather also gave her an excuse to go out and spend some time drawing outside. She spent a little while looking for a perfect place to plop down and start working, when she finally came across the park. Immediately she went in, knowing it would be the ideal quiet spot, and made her way to a nearby bench. As soon as she had out a pencil and paper she became entranced in her own little world. It was only as she looked up to draw a tree that she noticed a girl sitting on another one of the benches. Piper would be lying if she said she didn't find the girl attractive, but recently so many of the girls she was attracted to had turned out to be straight, so she simply went back to drawing.

Thatcher Williams
A small grin appeared on Thatcher's face as he pulled into the driveway of the home that he hadn't seen in months. Finals had been brutal, and now he finally felt as though he could relax. For 14 weeks he didn't have to think about anything even remotely related to school, he could just hang out by the pool and catch up on lost sleep.
After a few more moments in the vehicle, Thatcher opened up the door and stepped out. Almost as soon as his foot touched the ground, he felt a pair of arms entangle him in a hug. "Welcome back Thatch! How was college?"
"Hey!" One of his arms wrapped around his younger sister, while the other shut the car door. "It was great, a lot of work, but a lot of fun too...a little too much fun sometimes." He smirked slightly as he released Sara from his grasp.
"You know mom and dad won't be happy if they hear that. You better hope your grades are good." She teased.
"Right, I'm definitely going to tell them that I was partying instead of studying every weekend. Sounds like a great idea." Thatcher replied, rolling his eyes. He turned around and made his way to the door, "I'm going to grab some water before I start unpacking." He didn't wait for a response before heading inside and making a b-line for the kitchen. Though, when he arrived, Thatcher almost immediately forgot his original purpose for heading there, due to the beautiful bikini-clad girl bent over to inspect his fridge. "Need help finding something?"
-

Thatcher Williams
"Ophelia, wow, I didn't even recognize you." Thatcher bit his lip as his eyes traveled up her body. Could this really be the same girl he'd lived next to for the last ten years? From the moment that Sara and Ophelia had become friends, he had seen her only as a second little sister. Usually, when he saw his sister's best friend, he simply saw her as the same seven year old he had met so many years ago, but something about seeing her in almost nothing was changing his mind. Suddenly, she was not just his sister's friend, she was sexy.
The question brought Thatcher back to reality, "Uh...yeah, it was great. A fair bit of work, but you meet a ton of new people and there are a lot of parties. Pretty much every weekend is a new adventure. You'll definitely enjoy it when you graduate." He smiled, making a very conscious effort to keep his focus on her eyes. "How's high school treating you?"

Thatcher shrugged slightly, not even quite sure of his own plans for the summer. "No big plans yet other than relaxing and swimming. I guess one of my buddies is throwing a welcome back party for me tonight, you and Sara are welcome to tag along." Inviting his sister and her best friend to a party was not something Thatcher had ever considered before, but the words had escaped his mouth before he put any thought into them. He wanted to see more of Ophelia, and there was no way he could get away with inviting her and not Sara.
After watching Ophelia suck down her lemonade for a moment he suddenly remembered why he had originally come to the kitchen in the first place. He made his way to the cabinets next to Ophelia and grabbed a glass, then he filled it with water and took a sip. Very quickly he became aware of how close he was standing to Ophelia, but he didn't mind being close to her so he just shot her a grin.

"Right, here ya go." Thatcher reached into his back pocket, grabbed his phone, and held it out, brushing her hand briefly as he gave it to her. The longer he stood next to her the harder it was for him to keep focused. The straw kept bringing his attention to her lips, then there was that bikini that fit her so perfectly. He had to fight off the urge to keep checking her out, but you can't put a straight guy in front of a girl wearing so little and not expect his eyes to wander...right? He just had to keep reminding himself that Ophelia was off limits.
"I think I might go hop in the pool," maybe that would help clear his mind, "you can leave my phone on the counter. I'll grab it when I get out." Thatcher finished off his water, turned around, and headed towards the glass sliding door. Once he was out he peeled his shirt off over his head and jumped into the refreshing water, thankful that he'd warn swim trunks instead of shorts today.
