As she considered the question her head began to cock to the side, almost as if she were posing a question herself. It was a compelling thought - should children be punished as adults are. She supposed that the answer depended on what crime they had committed. "Things like murder should never be overlooked," she noted more to herself than to the others. "And youth is no excuse for complete ignorance." That was about the end of her theory on the matter.Faith did suppose that cubs should be given a bit more leeway simply because they were still learning moral values but some things could not be excused. Plus she had a subtle hatred for excuses - you either did it or you did not. Ignorance was potent and dangerous at any age but especially when instilled in the younger generation, for they were the future. "Is that sufficient?" she asked, then turning toward the newcomer answered: "Not exactly, but you are free to join in I believe."

Medicine was a brief interest of hers at one point, she remembered that much about the topic. She believed that the knowledge she retained was not nearly as vast as it once had been. However, that fancy had passed her by and she now felt hollow when she thought of the practice. Although she could not hear the other approach, she could smell herbs on the rain and that told her everything she needed to know. A medic. "We are all shadows," she noted to the female. "In a rain like this one." It was a bit cryptic but the message seemed clear enough to her: everything was obscured and foggy, including their intentions. To be short, Faith was curious as to what the other was doing out in this weather. Of course, the oddly phrased question could easily be asked of her as well. She wasn't one to simply stand out in a storm and yet here she was, completely soaked through. A faint smile crossed her lips as she considered this bit of irony.

A bitter smile made its way onto her expression and she found herself shrugging slightly. Should a child attempt to murder another - what would she do? Certainly she wouldn't stand by and allow such a thing to happen. "I don't believe in change," she said. "Everyone is on a set course." In some ways she believed that someone who murdered once would certainly relish the opportunity to do so again. "But I guess it all depends on remorse." She paused to allow these words to sink in and then she reconsidered the question. Would she willingly put a child to death for attempted murder? "An accident can be forgiven, but intentions are dangerous, no matter what age they're fostered at."

Since coming here she had attempted to retain judgement for when she knew these strangers a bit better. Unfortunately that was beginning to prove difficult - her mind lingered on the odd nature of the clan and its policy of acceptance. She wondered silently if it had ever backfired on them before, surely at some point they had taken someone dangerous into their midst. Someone who had managed to undermine their trust and take advantage of their friendliness. How kind could someone be before it came back to bite them?Faith sighed as she brushed the cynical thoughts to the back of her mind. She hated how dark she was becoming; it almost seemed like the shadows were beginning to consume her. The alabaster feline remembered being so happy at one point earlier in life. Now it seemed like that time would never actually return to being. She took a seat on the shore and gazed out at the sea, reflecting on how much she despised salt water. Yet it looked so beautiful.

Nothing ever got easier. She knew that was the truth without question. If she wanted to meld into this clan it would be necessary for her to push out of her comfort zone and that was a new territory for her. Faith didn't appreciate change, it was unpredictable and it could go anywhere without warning. To be short she was terrified of this entire experience - it was unknown and that alone was warrant for anxiety. Would they drive her out if she could not be tamed by their customs? Perhaps. As these thoughts circulated her mind, she felt a frown dragging down at the corners of her lips. She would seek comfort in someone but the idea of opening up was also frightening. Was there nothing that she could do without being overwhelmed by some sense of panic. She sighed lightly and forced a small smile across her lips.

They fed from the same flames it seemed, both dwelling on symbolism. However, Faith was not interested in poetry exactly, but she did have a fascination for things with deeper meaning. It was just another facet of herself she could not hope to explain to someone without the same trait. One either had it or they did not.So she found herself smiling involuntarily at this observation - she would have made another observation if one was available to her but she was quite finished. The petite feline nodded subtly as if this stranger had passed some sort of test. "Faith Departed," she introduced. "And you are?" She was somehow oblivious of the depression that lingered in her moniker - it seemed that most strangers reacted in the same manner when hearing her name. How strange, they would say. What a gloomy name.

She frowned, not sure who this Castiel character was and not particularly interested in finding out. It seemed that there was some conflict between the two - nothing she was thrilled to get involved in. Yet she found herself asking a simple question all the same: "Why?"

She had no actual attachments to the name, there was no large power in it. Just a facet of her personality for the convenience of conversation - but that was a lie and she knew it. Faith would have given just about anything to know her birth name, to be able to taste it on her tongue. "That's a lovely name," she noted absently. It had a serene quality to it, one that uplifted her spirit rather than dragging it down./mobile

The smile threw her off, further confusing her already puzzled state of mind. He had come at a rather convenient time though, that much could be said about him. As she recalled, he was once a merchant. Did that job entail traveling? It sounded like a possibility and she did her best to extend a smile toward him as well but it came out lopsided and somewhat sad. "Hello, is there something you need?" she asked quietly./mobile

The murmur almost went unnoticed but Faith managed to push away her thoughts in favor of words that weren't her own. She gazed at the alabaster wings in something akin to amazement and a smile made it's way onto her expression. Something about flight fascinated her - it was such a beautiful concept. To forget the mortal world in favor of the sky owned by divines. Sometimes she believed she wanted nothing more than to escape this monotony in favor of either sea or sky. Drowning or plummeting from the heavens - both riveted her in different ways. The pale figure turned her attention back to the other and responded with some cheer, "Oh, hello Malkyn."

Exploring posed an interesting question to her: she already did so much of it as she tried to figure herself out. In the end her curiosity won out and she crossed the distance between them so she was positioned right beside the cub. It seemed they were about equal in height but very differently sized. Faith supposed that should be expected considering she was a domestic feline and this other was a tigress in the making. She felt a tinge of jealousy at the share power of the other breed but it mattered not, Faith wasn't much for fighting anyway. Or perhaps she was and she just didn't remember. "I'll join you if you'll have me."

It seemed that he simply had bad luck, stumbling into her one what was otherwise an innocent enough walk. Now he would be forced to exchange casual conversation with an obvious misfit. She smiled ruefully, an expression that quietly said, I'm sorry. Her submissive behavior reflected poorly on her but it was engrained in her memories so she did her best to live up to it. "I see, I'm sorry to bother you then," she said. "But would you mind if I joined you?"

She strained her memory, trying to come up with an answer. Instead she could only gather segments of what she believed to be the cause of her rain loving ways. There was something about it that soothed her soul, soaked into her and made her pure again. "It all began in the rain," she responded. Her tone was even but inside she felt a deep frustration that made her want to cry out and weep. She remembered being so upset one dark evening and she remembered the rain touching her like a lover's kiss - but that was all. Then she had woken up here with only pieces of her life left. Who had the right to take something like that away from her? Who had the power? "Maybe it'll end in the rain too. And yourself?"

Glum. Hadn't that been one of the words used to describe her name at one point? Or was it gloomy? She felt herself tense up but she said nothing as she watched the exchange. This was but another unfamiliar face in the crowd; she had no need to question the girl. "Suppose that's better than nothing," she noted. Being down was apparently one of the worst emotions available but she couldn't say that for sure. When her own memories surfaced again - then maybe she would know. For now her pale blue visionaries were glued to the dirt below.
