I'm Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian... A few others I can't remember .-.
A few surnames in my family history are Demersseman, Iverson (you can't get more f*cking Norge than that o.o), Diamond, a bunch of unpronounceable Eastern European ones, and ESPECIALLY Rask. -
Yeah, Scandinavians can mostly understand each language, but some words and grammar is different, and it makes the other sound drunk xD
It's also similar how a Spaniard can understand a Mexican, but the speech will sound a bit more informal, and how I can understand most Ukrainians. -
I think I'm also a bit German..I have some blood relatives with "sch"

It's not as hard as you think! First I learn a bunch of words, then I learn some basic grammar. Next I watch some cartoons in the language because
why not cartoons are funit uses simpler vocabulary and you're usually able to pick up new words. It also helps ALOT to spend some time in the country and go to a language school there. It's also fun to travel and hear people speak fluently!
