Swiftpaw slowly creeped along the ground and pounced after the mouse. It escaped. He scowled and pounced again, this time killing the plump mouse.

Swiftpaw perked his ears and set the mouse next to the tree. He slowly glided against the ground and pounced on a vole, swiftly killing it with a bite to the neck. The apprentice let out a purr a pride and carried his two catchings back to the clearing.

[color=white]"And to you as well," the apprentice purred as he set down his catches. "If you want, you can give that vole to Goldenstar. We can eat after the elders and queens are fed."

"If you want to you can find Goldenstar in her den under highrock. I'll go feed the queens and I'll meet you here so we can both feed the elders. Agreed?" Swiftpaw explained flicking his tail to each of the dens.

[align=center][color=white]Swiftpaw nodded and took his mouse to the queen's den. He squeezed through the brambles and dropped of the mouse to the one queen. Swiftpaw squeezed out and returned to his vole, waiting for Palepaw.

"I know Ivypaw wanted to come to see if she could find some herbs they needed. So, you, me, Ivypaw, and we can take Foxtooth as well." Swiftpelt named all who was coming on the patrol.

"Well now you're part of Thousandclan. And no one is left out. Even new apprentices." Swiftpaw purred and turned his gaze to Palepaw. Swiftpaw smiled and flicked his tail. "It's getting dark. Would you like to go make your bed in the apprentices den?"

Swiftpaw promised, padding to the medicine den. He slid inside and picked up and bundle of fresh green moss.

Swiftpaw shaped the moss into a comfortable bed and shook the pieces of moss from his paw. "There." Swiftpaw purred and sat on his bed, behind the new one. "I can see you're exhausted," Swiftpaw purred and gave a warm smile.

Swiftpelt nodded and padded to the medicine den. He soon returned with the medicine cat apprentice; Ivypaw. "Everyone ready to go?" Swiftpelt asked his patrol.

[align=center][color=white]Swiftpaw twitched his ear and lifted his head. Dawn light gleamed through the open patches of the apprentice den. He lifted his head and softly got up, sliding out of the den. He shook pieces of moss from his pelt. Swiftpaw yawned and stretched his fore paws forward.

Swiftpaw nodded as he listened to the cats listed. He waved his tail in excitement. Discovering new land was a large opportunity for Swiftpaw! For him to learn new skills and expand his clan's territory.
