Zero ran far away from the Shadowclan territory. She then saw a river. She loved the water so she decided to explore. A kind warrior saw her and asked her where she was from. Zero told him about where she lived, and he decided to take her to the leader. The leader approved and took her to the nursery.

Zero hid in the brambles, as her mother said. These strange cats had snuck up on them as they tried to gather herbs. She heard hisses and snarling. Then, a sound she reconized. Her mother was howling in pain. Zero stuck her head out of the shrubbery and saw her mother in a blood pool. "Mommy!" She whispered, she couldn't yell. The sorrow in her stomach was so overwhelming it was hard to speak. She ran and ran away from the stench.
