Ah. Because of the not-so-grammatically correct spanish tripped off her tongue, it would make sense that most would believe that English was not her first language -- Well, it kind of was and wasn't. She just had two mothertongues and both of which she spoke equally atrociously. Kind of like her roleplayers mothertoungue-tri-lingual status but of course English being the best as xir used it most often, although xir actually knew her grammar. But the kitten didn't mind much, as she felt the ability to be understood and to understand was imperative and she had the latter down pat and the former most of the time. Depended on the person really.

Or perhaps it was her mention of her mother not being able to speak english that had tipped people off. That, she supposed, could be easily misunderstood if people only understood the not understanding part. Now she thought that, it was ironic. They understood not understanding, but nothing else. But then, you would need to be able to express your confusion t everyone so perhaps it wasn't much of a surprise.

No matter, she could introduce herself again. Or had they caught her reply to Botts? Ah, you never knew and it didn't hurt to be polite.

Idioma knew the pains of not being understood or searching for a word you knew you didn't know. But the fact the bunny didn't know the common tongue did confuse her slightly as people persisted in talking to it. If it didn't talk it was prey right? But then it was trying to so maybe it wasn't prey -- maybe it was something else entirely? How did that even make sense?

And so pointedly ignoring the questioning tone in the warriors voice when Harrierbeat tactfully went around trying to figure out why she would be out of camp - everyone else did it anyway.. kittens getting out she meant - the lilac sable and white youngster sat down watching the proceedings with blatant curiosity. Idioma looked up from the small rock she'd been rolling from paw to paw to see a much taller feline. "You look awful" were the less than tactful words from the young kitten. And interestingly they managed to come out perfectly fine when the girl was known for her odd and convoluted speech. She didn't know this female and it was likely that the older animal didn't know her. But children possessed that bold quality, a lack of thought on their words or rather the ability to say exactly what they were thinking. Sometimes the things that got said by such youngsters would be rude, or perhaps hilarious given the circumstances. In this case it was the truth and the kitten offered no embellishment on her statement other than to pad up and and sit down close to the fox with a musing look on her face.

Her outlook on the matter was simple. The fox needed more sleep and food. someone older might have wondered what her psychological state was, or if she needed medical help. Maybe if the fox had anorexia or what hardships she might have encountered to become like this. No, the kitten merely thought the fox needed some food because she looked pretty bad right now. And you always wanted to look good.

Kind of. Not your best all the time because no-one would ever realise when you wanted to make a particular impression. As it was the boyish female was not one for grooming herself. Her mother would make her do it each morning but by now the fawn and white semi-long fur was ruffled and just a bit dirty from when she managed to get herself dirty from playing one game or the other.

The kitten attempted to follow the fox's stare with no avail and instead gave a small huff and moved onto more interesting things than the fact the fox looked horrible. "You are on the verge of it? Beautiful? If you see that?"

At that, Idioma's ears grew hot with embarrassment as she looked away. Automatically assuming it was her speech that made the fox answer in such a manner, she stutteringly repeated herself. The fact she often got her words mixed up and out of order was a constant source of embarrassment and shame for her. Not everyone understood and those that did could not guarantee she wouldn't just come out with something so utterly different the meaning was entirely lost.

An apology, a swift short sorry that would never seem to transform, followed that. Yes, the kitten was easily flustered and now instead of gleefully being the higher status child in the exchange, she became just that moon old kitten again. Not the kitten who said something you didn't normally do if you were being polite.
