Chance shot into a gallop, rivaling Aladdin. storm flattened herself to her mares back, attempting to become more aerodynamic. Chance lifted her head, breathing in the cool wind. they approached the stales and pulled to a stop with only a little bit of skidding. stormy hopped off and hugged her beautiful mare.

Legend looked at her with wide eyes. "I think he wants you as a mate and is now upset since you're already in heat." He responded, gazing at her sympathetically.

Frost cantered down the hill to rift and fussed over him like a mother hen. "Are you ok? Do you need water? Here, let me groom you." In response rift shrugged her off and muttered angrily. Frost stood, stock still; utterly shocked. What had she done to deserve this.

Kat continued cleaning before everything was to her standards. She went to flints stall and slipped a nameplate engraved with his name in its place. She sighed and walked down the rows of stalls to where flint was in his pasture. As she walked out into the bright light she whistled and flint came running. Smiling, Kat opened the gate and let him out, clipping a leather lead rope to his halter. She walked him into the stables. As they entered the doorway flint tossed his head and pranced like a race horse, he snorted and let out short whinny.

Maverick whinnied and pawed at the ground. He would bolt at the slightest hint the wolves might move in.

Fire snorted and raised her head, looming over the wolves. She felt a growl rise in her throat. "We got to move" she hissed at the two mares, her eyes flashing with a steely determination.

Oasis breathed the cool night air. He was free. He was wild. And no one would change that. He galloped across the desert with out slowing once. He paused briefly and looked up seeing the light pink color of dawn. He scanned the horizon and scented the air. He detected the faint trace of moisture in the air. He galloped dead ahead until he found a small oasis. He watched the water warily, it was crystal clear and smelled fresh. He waded in knee deep to drink. It was satisfying, cool and crisp that quenched his thirst. I hope their getting along all right he thought worriedly then brushed it away as if it were a cobweb. He continued on until it was daylight.

"Thanks. I might need a rematch. " she replied and took chance over to the wash racks. Stormy whistled through giving chance a bath. At one point chance shook her pelt, spraying soapy water every where. Stormy laughed despite being absolutely covered in soap and water. "Thank you. That's totally what I needed." She told chance sarcastically, who bobbed her head and whinnied.

Storm turned around bursting with laughter. "Apparently she thought I wasn't clean enough. this is her standard of clean." Stormy replied, gesturing to her whole body with a smile. Chance turned and nuzzled her hair, leaving it tangled with horse spit and soap. Storm giggled and hugged her mare, forgetting for that one instant that her horse happened to be coated with soap. "Awwwww, gosh dang it." Stormy said, stomping her foot in mock irritation. She continued giving chance her bath and by the time she was finished she was absolutely covered from head to toe in soap, water, horse hair and horse spit courtesy of chance.

Kat led him in circles to let him calm down. He saw other horses about to leave and wanted to go with them. She paused, thinking. "But you were already worked a little today." She said half to herself, half to flint. Flint snorted and tossed his head pushing towards the riders on their horses. Kat was lost in her own thought. "Fine. " she said at last. "You win. We'll go with them" she told her stubborn horse. Kat ran into the tack room and slipped a western bridle over flints head and jumped on his slippery back. She trotted him over to the other riders "h-hi. Can I join you?" She asked, not wanting to intrude.

Oasis continued on, traveling at night and following the constellations he had been taught. Climbing a steep sand dune he looked out in the desert and almost gasped with shock. There was a treeline several miles away! That must be the end of the desert. He wondered if the others had found their own way out and began walking towards it, hoping desperately it wasn't a mirage.

Wild fire spun around on her heels and galloped at a break neck speed, her limbs stretching out to their full length.

Maverick shot out of there like a runaway locomotive and couldn't be stopped. He stretched his neck out taking in big gulps of air from his powerful lungs.

"Yes! How did I not think of that?" Stormy giggled. Taking her hands she smeared them across her face, leaving white foam all over her face. She giggled and continued leading chance to her stall. Once they were there she let chance walk in and took an old name plate from her pocket, slipping it in its slot. "There you go" she murmured to chance who nickered in response. She turned to Jess, "wanna help me with my other mare sillouette?" She asked.

"I...I'm Kat" she responded, adjusting her balance on flints back. It was slippery without a saddle but was comforting and warm. She interlaced her fingers in flints jet black mane and fingered his leather reins. Flint tossed his head and played with his bit, ready to be off.

Galaxy watched the whole episode then shrugged his shoulders and watched the herd through wide, calm eyes. He tossed his head and pranced. His hoofs sending a shower of dirt around him, it created a red cloud that formed around him. He breathed a deep breath in his powerful lungs and began walking to a near by stream.
