He stood and walked to the camp entrance, beckoning her with his tail. He dipped his head to the entrance guard, and stepped outside. Then he turned to face her, his amber eyes bright. "Where do you want to go?"

She looked at the ground, her eyes shut tight, thinking hard. She could remember one thing, but it was pretty fuzzy...

"I think.... I'm pretty sure I was in a forest.... And there was a cat...."

Suddenly she opened her eyes wide. The cat had attacked her, and knocked her out, and then she was here. But something had seemed weird about the cat...

    "It attacked me."

Hunter wondered if their father had really been gone for an hour, and Aspen pondered over their odd apology. Apologizing for being unknown? That was weird. She squeezed Hunter's hand.

"Oh, you don't need to apologize! It was our mistake," she smiled. "Do you know where he went?"

Path.... What path? Hunter thought, remembering how he and his friends had to basically create their own path to get here.

Aspen watched the terrified twins, and decided that enough was enough. She was going to find their father, that way they wouldn't be scared anymore! Hunter knew what she was thinking and shot her a look, but she simply let go of his hand.

She put her hand on Shay's shoulder and said, "Why don't we help him look? I'm sure we'll find it right away!!"

    She had always been different.

While the others had the generic tabby fur and amber eyes, she was jet black with piercing red eyes.

When the others socialized over a mouse, she ate alone, staring at the ground, wondering why she was different.

They called her names, like the demon cat, or red-eyed freak. Sure, it didn't seem like that big of a deal, but it was to her.

Then one day, it all changed.

She had been walking in the city streets, flinching when the occasional car drove by. Then, someone had pulled her aside. An orange cat with green eyes, he told her that he had been keeping an eye on her, and that he had a way that she would stop being invisible. He promised her that she would never be bullied again, and that instead of avoiding her, other cats would be begging for her help.

All she had to do, he said, was kill the leader of the group she lived with.

He was right. Cats always came to her now, asking her to assassinate him or her or them for various reasons. And she always did, because she didn't really have anything better to do and she seemed pretty skilled at it and her employers seemed to accept her. Plus, they usually offered her some kind of food as a reward.

She wasn't evil or anything, this was just her way of life. She didn't know anything different. Half the time, she didn't even know why she was killing. But she was never caught.

Now she was crouched on an apartment balcony, her black coat blending in with the shadows of the rest of the building and the night sky. Her red eyes tracked her next target, and she decided that she would take it out in one swift, quick blow. She leapt, and landed on the target's back. Before it could cry out, she thrust it's face into the dusty pavement, killed it with one quick bite, and successfully leapt away, hearing the body hit the ground.

What the assassin didn't know was that this time, somebody had witnessed her crime.

((OOC: I don't know what inspiration I had for writing this xD I think I've been watching too much Akame ga Kill lately))

((OOC: Sure!! That's a really great idea ^.^))

It was only a few days later, but she already had another target. A gray tom had come to her, demanding her to kill another tom cat. She couldn't even remember the reason he had given her, or the reward that he had offered. But now she ran through the dark city streets, her body never leaving the shadows. Smelling the target nearby, she leapt on top of a dumpster, her body concealed in shadow. And then she saw him.

    And he was different.

    Just like her.

She could tell by the way he looked at the ground when he walked, the way that his tail trailed in the dusty ground, the way that his whiskers drooped. He was an outcast, just like her.

And for the first time since she had taken up this business, she doubted what she was about to do. She shook her head; this was her job, she didn't have a choice.

With that in mind, she leapt, but at the last minute, something in her mind snapped. The flawless assassin jerked her body to the side, and instead of landing on top of her target, she slammed into his side. They tumbled on the ground for a second, and when they had finally stopped moving, she disentangled herself from him. Her head was throbbing, and her hind leg was sore, but she looked at her target, hoping that her red eyes didn't look too demonic.

((OOC: Is that okay? It was hard to write about him cause I don't really know anything about him xD))

Aspen stared at them, speechless for once. All she did was pat her shoulder! It was a sympathetic pat, an everything-is-going-to-be-okay pat, but these two were acting like she had sexually assaulted Shay or something.

    "S-sorry..." She stammered.

Hunter didn't take their actions so lightly. He could hear the anger in Inigo's voice, and immediately grabbed Aspen's arm. "Fine then, we'll be going now," he spat, and left the mansion, dragging Aspen with him.

Once outside, Aspen yanked herself away from him. She had gotten over her previous shock, and now her orange eyes were furious.

"What the hell was that?! I just wanted to help them!! You didn't have to get all pissy!! In fact-"

She was cut off when he suddenly grabbed her, pulling her close to him defensively. She was about to protest when he said, "It's too quiet." Then she realized what he was saying.

    What happened to their friends?

And then, they simultaneously noticed the bloody trail leading away from the mansion.

Behind them, the door to the mansion opened.

The two turned to face the twins, their eyes wide with terror. They knew this wasn't the twins doing; after all, they had been with them the entire time, right?

    But who could it be?

Aspen considered that it might be the spirit of the crazy old man, but that was impossible, right?

Whatever it was, all she knew was that her friends were probably dead, and that whatever killed them was probably hunting her and Hunter right now. Her only thought was to protect Hunter and the twins, even if she had only just met them.

She grabbed Hunter's arm and, against his will, bolted into the mansion.

"Yea, but first, lock the door. Someone, or something, is out there. We need to stay in here, and we can't let it in." She answered their question, shutting the door and searching for a key. Meanwhile, Hunter scanned the room for some sort of weapon he could use in the case that the murderer got in. He didn't know these perfect twins that well, but he did know one thing: he had to protect Aspen.

Silver stared at her for a second, dumbfounded. He didn't really know how to respond to that.

"Well, I'm not going to push you to be with me. It's just that... you're allowed to love more than one person in your life, right? I mean, think about it. You love your mate, and your siblings, and your parents, and your pups, your uncles, aunts... and so on. But at the same time, I understand that this is probably really big for you, and I don't want to stress you out. I'll let you think about it, alright? But if you ever need anything- and I mean anything- just come and find me, okay?"

He finished his speech by nudging her head comfortingly, and then he slowly got up and walked away.

He firmly believed every word of his speech, but he hoped he was doing the right thing. But, she would find him when she was ready, right? Also, the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. He really did care about her.

So he left. He thought that they both needed some space, but he would still have to face the pack eventually. But he would worry about that later.

He padded through the trees, heading for the river.

((OOC: Sorry xD you said social outcast so I just assumed he did))

"Sorry! I didn't see you there!!" She lied, practically quivering under those fierce eyes. She was an assassin!! Why was she the one who was scared all of a sudden??

She crept out of the shadows, breaking one of the most important rules in this business- never let your target see you. Shaking the dust off of her black fur, she faced him, trying to look as unthreatening as possible.

"I don't want to fight you, but if you attack me, I'm gonna stand my ground," she warned him, but she really didn't want to fight him. It was her job, but... something seemed different about him.

    His blue eyes intrigued her.

Once Aspen was certain that nothing was getting inside anytime soon, she leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. Hunter didn't find anything, but if it got too bad, maybe he could just throw a chair at the thing? He was running out of ideas.

Aspen looked up at the twins, and began to explain. "Like we said before, we didn't know that somebody lived here. To everyone in town, this is just a creepy old mansion. Some people even say that it's haunted. So, we came here with a few other people, and they dared us to come inside the mansion for half an hour. We did, and we met you guys. Then when Hunter dragged me out," she shot him a look, "we realized that our friends were gone. All we could find was a bloody trail. So we ran back in here, to protect ourselves and you guys, because whatever hurt our friends is probably looking for us, too. Any idea what it could be?"

((OOC: xD alright, good to know))

She was half tempted to spit back at him that she had killed more cats then he could count with that tiny brain of his, but she stopped herself. She had already given this much away, she couldn't tell him what her true intentions were, too. No matter how cocky this stupid cat was.

She wondered why she stopped herself in the first place.

"Who said anything about trying to kill you?" She called out, before stalking away, her tail held high in the air. She was done with this stupid tom, and she decided to tell her employer that she couldn't finish this job. She would think of an excuse on the way, she decided.

((OOC: Well this just got interesting xD))

It was a few days later. She had already explained to her frustrated employer that she wouldn't be able to go through with this job, and now she lay under an abandon porch. The pouring rain seeped through the wood.

This was the first job that she had failed. Ever.

Why couldn't she do it? He was just like the others, so why wasn't she strong enough?

She knew she could do it. She had taken out cats double his strength before, so why didn't she take out this one? Was it that she wasn't good enough?

She could hear the voices from her childhood now, screaming at her, telling her that she was different and useless and that she was a waste of space. She knew she was making a big deal out of nothing; everyone messes up, right? So why was she being so hard on herself?

At that moment, she needed to run. So she did- she bolted out from under the porch, her paws slipping and sliding in the mud, the rain making her coat stick to her slender body. She ran for a good while, running from all the emotion she had locked away for so long, when she slipped. She picked herself up, and felt the rain wash away the mud sticking to her body.

    Then she sensed it.

    Someone was here with her.

She looked around for a place to hide, but there was nothing- no overgrown weeds, no fallen trash cans, not even a shadow (stupid street lamps). She stood her ground, head held high, and called out.

"I know you're out there! Show yourself!"

    "Run," he had whispered.

Blood dripping from his smoky jaw, blue eyes set with determination, ignoring the chaos erupting around them.

Her body was weak, her green eyes wide, blood streaming from the several incisions in her pale silver tabby coat.

Her coat, which once glittered in the sunlight, now was dull. The pouring rain made it stick to her frail body.

The enemy was overwhelming, great big beasts surrounding them, malicious eyes narrowed and strong teeth sharp.

    "Run," he had whispered.

And so she ran, and didn't look back.

The last thing she heard was a scream.

She ran for days, she ran until she was too weak to stand. Then she collapsed, closing her green eyes, unable to keep them open for a second longer.

The last thing she saw was his welcoming blue eyes, his crooked smile, his smoky gray tail beckoning her to come to his side. So she did, and she didn't look back.

((OOC: Yea, I have no idea where I was going with this xD))
