Black flecks danced across Chase's vision as he sensed Kairo spring. "No, no, no!" Chase struggled to yelp, even though his throat was constricted by the wiry rope. As Kairo's teeth sank into the man's arm, he yanked aggressively at the rope! "Git off meh dawg!" snarled the man, keeping his voice low. Still, his grip loosened on the rope and Chase pulled with the mightiness of an ensnared dog.
Little did the he-dogs see the two others creeping in the shadows of the ring. The ropes in their hands were much alike the wire strapped to Chase's neck.

Feeling the presence of Willowpaw's attention, Bengalstripe glanced back at the young apprentice. His tail swished in absent approval at the she-cat. He combed his tongue through his whiskers and returned his gaze to Silverbrooke, eyes pleading for a reply.

As the cow's eyes fell warily upon Olikpok's form, he quickly averted his eyes. Somehow, he felt that if the cow saw his chocolate eyes, she would be able to see the painful past behind them. Lowering his head, Olikpok switched his ears in earnest respect to the cow. "Oh. I'm sorry to hear." He managed, hoping his voice didn't sound as cowardly as he felt.

Sensing Dotty's disapproval, Olikpok glanced up. Although there pupils only touched for the whisk of a second, Olikpok saw the pain and offense in her eyes. As Oga tormented the cow, Olikpok swallowed thickly in light worry. He felt as though because he had found the abandoned fawn, that he held new responsibility over her. "Oga, don't stress....her out." He warned, realizing that he didn't know the cows name. "What, might I ask, do you call yourself?" He questioned, allowing his eyes to flicker painfully up to Dotty's face.

A scream threatened to burst out of the man's throat, but for some reason, his meaning was to keep quiet. Instead he groaned through clenched teeth and dropped the wired rope that ensnared Chase. With a gasp of delight, Chase tore into the man as well. All too late did he realize his mistake as the men from the shadows came forth, ropes prepared for lassoing. "Git dem'." glowered the man, pointing at the enraged canines that were snapping at his flesh.

Olikpok snorted with slight disapproval. He didn't mind the other deer, but he felt uncertain by their ever-expanding numbers. "Come on Oga." He grunted as he began to follow the other deer down the mountainside. "Felix, there is no time now for eating. We are already behind on our journey. We should have left by now." He explained lightly, tossing his head at the young bull.

Tern cocked her head lightly to the side, unsure if she should trust the strange he-dog. "How can I trust you?" she questioned at last, her voice a tad bitter. "Just two heartbeats ago you were prepared to tear out our throats, and now you bid us apologies?" Her voice remained a growl, although she allowed her wired muscles to loosen up slightly.

Olikpok bowed his head in thanks to Shimmer. Then, at her wish, stepped eagerly ahead of the group. Walking brazenly forward, he snorted, "Shimmer, you know...I've never been there either." He listened to the sounds of the herd's hooves clanking against the path before continuing. "I only know the way because my mother told me of it. She knew this trail extremely well. She practically gave me a map with her stories." He pulled his beige dappled lips into a smile, and flicked his ears in happy remembrance.

ooc: can I be her parents? also to add a little tang to her story, can I say that her father really doesn't want her to get a mate (you know to protect his little girl ;)) and is that okay?

    Flighthawk (I know it's a weird name)

Flighthawk crouched low to the earth, his eyes on the clueless robin just ahead of him. Swallowing back the purr that threatened to give him away, Flighthawk smoothed his left paw forwards. Flighthawk couldn't help the pained mewl that followed the movement. "Stupid badgers." He groaned to himself as he watched the robin fly away with hateful eyes. Returning his focus to the scarring wound on his shoulder, Flighthawk cursed the badger that had given him the gash again.

ooc: thanks! and it's fine I'm usually not as muse-ie as I am right now

Feeling the she-cats eyes on his back, Flighthawk glanced up. Seeing that it was Silverflame, Flighthawk forced the scowl on his face to vanish. "Good morning, Silverflame. Catching any prey?" He asked, straightening his figure. He shifted the weight from his left leg to his right, easing the throb of the badger slash.

Tern's eyes shot to Cougar's in question, but she still pulled her lips down over brazen fangs. Sniffing, she glowered, "If you honestly and truly believe that he is good...." Tern shifted her weight, easing the tension in her taught muscles. "Then, I trust you." She said finally, although she eyed the he-dog Ice with uncertainty.

    Brazenheart

Brazenheart trotted, head held low, through the forest. He wasn't supposed to be here, he knew. Not on this territory, not near these cats. But this tom would do anything to feel the throb of adrenaline pulsing through his veins. The sound of a bear cubs bark brought Brazenheart out of his trotting stupor. "Hmmm... this should be good." Brazenheart thought aloud to himself. He began pacing silently towards the sound of the cub.

"Good morning, my sunrise." Hazelfur purred, licking her kitten smoothly atop the head. "Are you and Sunkit planning on doing anything fun today?" The she-cat began to absently groom Dawnkit's neck and face.

Hazelfur flicked her tail in uncertain thought. She stared out into the dark green of the forest, seeing only the badgers and deathberries and rogues that crept through it. "I don't know, dearie." Hazelfur said, glancing down at her young kitten.

"At least there are some cats that can catch prey." Flighthawk said under his breath, his eyes traveling to the place where the robin had vanished. Then, returning his focus to the cats before him, Flighthawk greeted, "Hello, Stoneheart." Then to Silverflame he added, "May I join you? Hunting alone's not working out for me." He donned his eyes on Silverflame hopefully.
