Emberheart got up, stretching feeling rested for once. The sleep had returned him to his normal fun and sociable self. He noticed Rippleflame wake up and smiled flicking his tail in a greeting. He exited the den, letting the sticks around the entrance brush back his fur as if it were a comb since his height allowed him to do so. As he exited the den, he hardly payed attention and rammed right into a soft furry wall named Willowbreeze. He fell back on his haunches with wide eyes as he looked at her in surprise.
"Well, I certainly didn't see you there! Sorry Willowbreeze!" he apologized with a small chuckle, "And Goodmorning as well."
His eyes were warm and friendly as he spoke to her in his chipper tone of voice.

Emberheart grinned, his perked ears displaying his good mood.
"As good as any morning spent off duty!" he said happily. Since he was a protector the days he had off were the days he loved most. At times he regretted his job, wishing to be a normal warrior so he could form a normal bond. Even if he planned to he couldn't though, because the two protector-in-training were still too young and there would be nobody to replace him. He flicked his ear, clearing his mind of his rueful thoughts and smiled once more at Willowbreeze.
"How about yours? Even though you just woke up." he said, chuckling.

Smokefur smiled.
"Nice to meet you as well! I just became a warrior, a bit less than a moon ago, I'm 13 moons now," he said, "How long ago did you leave? I might've been just a kit then because I don't remember you. Or maybe I wasn't even born yet!"
He wasn't usually such a spaz but the newcomer had sparked his interest as well as the other three and he was just bubbling with questions and words. He was still young which gave him an excuse though. He scrutinized Jaypaw closely.
"You look tough, I bet you could be a warrior right now! I'm sure Reedstar will give you your name soon. Unless you want to be Jaypaw forever," he babbled, "Ha! What an odd thought, a warrior then an elder with an apprentice name!"
He chuckled slightly and then refocused his eyes on Jaypaw and Frostedwhisper. Suddenly his ears burned pink with embarrassment at his kit-like antics.
"Aha, sorry, guess I was thinking too much," he mumbled, ears twitching in embarrassment.

Tawnybriar sighed, irritated that it had taken longer than she wanted for everyone to get to the training hollow. She turned to face the apprentices and flicked her tail for Foxheart to join her where she was standing. Se thought carefully about a good move for both apprentices to learn. Since Lionpaw was still young, he was quite small, which could come as both an advantage and disadvantage.
"Foxheart, I hope you don't mind but I'm going to take control of this session," she said to her fellow warrior in a no nonsense tone, even if he did mind, she didn't care. Speaking to the apprentices she said, "Okay, i know I already taught you this Beepaw but it's always good to review and it'll help Lionpaw practice. Lionpaw, since you're smaller than most of your opponents, you will have an advantage at certain angles. If you leap onto their back and dig in your claws to get a good hold, that puts you in a perfect position, away from the enemy's claws. From this angle you can inflict a lot of damage. This move is called the leap and hold, for obvious reasons. Now practice it one Beepaw, remember no inflicting real wound but do use your claws lightly so you don't fall off."
She stopped speaking and waited to watch them practice.
OOC: This was the move that Tawnypaw, Bramblepaw, Featherpaw, Ashpaw and Stormpaw used to kill Bone in the big battle against Bloodclan after he killed Whitestorm.

Specklefoot nodded curtly, lashing her tail at Nightstride's lack of attention. She stalked up to Willowbreeze, who was talking to Emberheart. She scrutinized Emberheart coolly for a moment before turning her back on him, she didn't like the thought that she shared a father with him, especially since her father wanted nothing to do with her. She resented both Emberheart and Tawnybriar. Looking at Willowbreeze, she smiled.
"Nightstride wants me to lead a border patrol and to take you, Skyfeather and someone else since Foxheart is out training," she said, "I'll go get Skyfeather, could you choose someone else for the patrol?"
Without waiting for an answer, the young warrior scurried away, wanting to get away from Emberheart as soon as possible. She went up to Skyfeather.
"Nightstride wants you to accompany me on a border patrol," she said.

Emberheart flicked his ear sadly as Specklefoot regarded him coldly. He had always wanted to connect with his younger siblings but she treated him so coldly and Smokefur was always off somewhere talking to someone. His father had told him and his sister that they were related sometime before he died. He had been angry but had soon forgiven his dad, Tawnybriar on the other hand acted about the same way as Specklefoot. He shrugged though, listening to what the young warrior had to say. He longed to go on a patrol but he knew he couldn't leave camp, even though he was off duty.

"Oh! So I was only two moons old when you left!" he said with a chuckle, "Just a tiny kit, no wonder we never knew eachother."
His ears swiveled when he heard his sister telling Willowbreeze to find another cat for a patrol.
"Well I'll talk to you later, I'm going to go join a patrol hopefully!" he said. He turned and went to Willowbreeze.
"Can I go? I've been waiting for some patrol to be formed all morning!" he said. That was when he noticed Emberheart. Awkwardly he looked away, not quite sure what to say.
"It's too bad you can't go. I know I sure wouldn't give up my freedom to be a protector. Though I really do appreciate what you guys do!" he said awkwardly to his suspected older brother. He turned his attention back to Willowbreeze expectantly.

Specklefoot stiffened as she heard she'd be a new mentor to the new cats. It's bad enough they're here at all! And now Reedstar ads insult too injury by making me train the kittypet of all cats! she thought angrily. As the meeting split she stared at her new apprentice, furious. She knew that she would bee in trouble with Reedstar if she rejected him our treated him badly though, so she took a deep breathe to hide her fury. She stalked toward Sunpaw, scrutinizing him cooly. She glared at Rosesplash merely because of her bad mood.
"Sunpaw," she said, her voice colder than ice, "I am Specklefoot, your new mentor. You're not exactly what I hoped for my first apprentice but I suppose I'll have to make do. Try not to disappoint me."
She regarded him coolly for a second more. Well, I suppose I should take him out then. She flicked her trail motioning for him to follow.
"I'm going show you the territory, keep up," she ordered. She stopped out of camp, waiting for the young tom.

As a recap more specific to your characters, Specklefoot told you that Nightstride assigned you to a border patrol but then Reedstar announced that he was letting Daniel and Xavier join. Specklefoot was made a mentor so she was angry and ditched the patrol to show her new apprentice the territory. Emberheart is talking to Clawberry now. It made him realize just how much he missed being a warrior. Being a Protector made him always too tired, too busy or too grumpy to talk to. Emberheart snapped out of his reverie as Clawberry nudged him. He shook his head to clear it as she spoke. He glanced at Willowbreeze as Clawberry spoke, his ears unwittingly burning red in a blush. She is pretty magnificent isn't she? he thought. Then he sighed flicked his ear.
"I'll never have a mate," he said wistfully, "So it doesn't matter what I think."
Being a protector meant that he had little time for a social life which was why he only had one friend. He was normally a very happy, outgoing cat but he always had to focus on this or that all at once.

~Jaypaw, Goldenpoppy's ex-LeafClan brother has come back to the Clan after his mate and kits were killed. He has joined the Clan once again, but he has to work to get his warrior's name, therefore he is the oldest apprentice.
~Maplefur has given birth to three kits, Hawkkit, Sootkit, and Otterkit
~Frostedwhisper will be having her kits soon.
~Frostedwhisper and Jaypaw are talking.
~Mintfeather, the old medicine cat has passed on and now Sagespirit is the new medicine cat.

Emberheart grinned at Willowbreeze, walking beside her towards the other two cats in the patrol. When she mentioned her brother he remembered back to their fight. The entire clan had heard about it, Reedstar wasn't even leader yet, at least he didn't think so. He could tell that the shecat was upset by thoughts about her brother so He decided change the subject. Smiling fondly he remembered being an apprentice well.
"I understand that. Tawnybriar just looked at everything as if she were an elder looking over a piece of prey they were brought by an apprentice," He said with a chuckle. His own sister was too serious for his tastes sometimes but she hardly had friends because of her attitude nor did she ever really want any, so he stuck around her and kept her company when she needed it. He flicked his ear, moving the thoughts away. When they finally approached the other two, he listened curiously to what they were talking about. Understanding their conversation, he interjected.
"I'd have to say my favorite thing is the forest in leaf-fall. Its chilly, but not cold. The prey are scurrying about to collect food, so they're fat and distracted. But what I love most off all are the trees at sunhigh. The way the leaves turn yellow and orange make it seems as if the world's on fire. It's magnificent," he said. As he spoke of the leaves, his eyes gained a dreamy sort of look to them and a small grin graced his features.
