!!! these are incredible ideas. I might twist around the latter and see what I could do with it; there's a lot to work with.

OOC @ Starry eyes Galaxia;; Eden had just come back with the elk with bramble, willow, and talon. just as they got back, willow found the new wolves were competing for their place in the pack.

No, but there also hasn't been much activity from many of our clanmates. I'm trying to see who shows a hand at actually being active, even if it's just a couple times a week, ya know? I haven't seen much of it. Silentleaf also decided that she was quitting our thread, but that's fine. I think right now Falconstar can take it upon himself to teach Russekit some things about the forest, and with the way I'm playing him and getting to know him, he might just want to claim Russetkit as his adopted kin.
-
He blinked, taken aback by the energy the kit had just released. A purr rumbled throughou his body, and he let out a hearty chuckle. "Alright then, we ought to be getting a move on." he began walking, but kept a slow pace. He knew he was significantly larger than her, and that her short legs (in comparison) may not be able to keep up the whole time. Or worse, that she may become tired before they even reached a quarter around their territory. He blinked at this thought, something that had not occured to him before. He did not know the size of his territory in comparison to other clans. Of course, like all the leaders before him, he had made his long trek to the moonstone. It was a few days distance, as his clan was further from the moonstone than all the other clans. Very few of those cats knew of Clan of Tooth and Claws' existence, and he wondered if any of them got the others to believe them. He remembered the stories of Skyclan; he knew they had existed. But like COTAC, they lived far away, and as far as he knew, they were located on the other side of the four clans that lived side by side. Both clans were too far away to be tested by the others, but also so far that their cats rarely made any contact.
He looked down at Russetkit, as they sat directly outside the entrance of their camp. He breathed in the familiar scents of the forest, and then he asked her: "What can you smell?"

OOC: sorry man! I got lost with the fighting I guess.
Willows' gaze grew hard as she watched the battles. She found they were getting to be too much for her, so she turned her head away. She picked up her paws, turned, and decided to walk away. She knew that Bramble would have loved to watch the fights- especially fights for acceptance. She knew it was his goal to one day be a beta, if not fight for the role of leader one day. He had a whole part of himself that loved and respected the art that is a wolf pack, so she wondered where he had been. She was almost positive he had been following her, but then again... she suddenly realized, that maybe this time, he hadn't been. This struck her as odd, as it was completely different from his usual schedule. Unable to find him, she went to her favorite spot (so far) in the soft snow, near the cabin.
Bramble had been watching the fight. He was just standing off to the side, waiting to see the results. He hadn't figured that in these types of battles, the ones for mere acceptance- that it could be a fight to the death. But the bite clearly aimed for the throat told him otherwise. This sickened him; he did not find it respectable. There was a good fight being put up, and clearly acceptance was something worth fighting for, to this wolf. He, too, stood up and decided to walk away. However, it was not the cabin, nor Willow he was headed for. He was going to go out for a walk, to think, to clear his head. Watching the battle had not given him the thrill he had imagined that it would, and he was now very confused on where he stood. (it's like wolf politics, LOL)
As he walked, a familiar scent caught him, and he stopped. He peered over upwind, to find an Eden. He didn't know why, or what was guiding him, but he walked over to her, and plopped down beside her. "So," he started, feeling a bit rough. "How'd you like it?"
-
He licked his lips, thinking about the cow they had taken down. "Fun, yeah." he thought about it all. He wasn't a hunter, he didn't understand how hunting was fun. He understood the fun in challenging himself to see if he can take something down, he understood the fun in something based around his strengths. "Willow is all about the hunting. There's something about it that brings out a whole new side of her. I'm familiar with it, only because we've hunted so much together before. I guess you have to do that type of thing when you're trying to survive." he then thought a little more. "I imagine you saw it?" he asked, and then continued. "Even in the heat of the moment, if you know her at all, it's hard to miss the ferocity and the aura that comes off of her." he knew that Willow wouldn't have cared him talking about her, so he continued. Otherwise, he may have fought for something to talk about. "The first time I saw it, I stopped mid-hunt. Not only did we lose our target, but she hurt herself. She had continued with the hunt, relying on me to do my part. I was surprised my fear-scent hadn't stopped her." he blinked, suddenly aware that he was referencing himself.
"I want to be strong, and she has taught me so much. But here, in the pack life, she doesn't teach me much but to reach out to others. She's not a social butterfly or anything, but she understands connections are important." he then breathed. He looked at Eden, searching for some give, some reaction to his words. He didn't know why, but he couldn't stop talking. Perhaps someone to talk to besides Willow was something he had needed for a while, and with Eden.. he didn't feel like his words would be held against him. "I don't know if what I really need is a connection, though. Like networking, the whole thing where you use who you know to get a higher rank and all. I think I want to use my strength, my brute force. I want it to be for who and what I am, not for how much someone likes me."
-
I'm definitely trying to recruit more players. I'm trying to modernize our bio, trying to get the word out, but it doesn't seem to be working that well.
-
Do you think players actually go there to look for a clan or do you think they go there to recruit?
-
His head tilted and he looked at her. His ears flicked. "No," he mumbled. "I don't have a clue what you mean." he decided to lay down, noticing that she had to look up such a drastic amount to look at him. Now, laying beside her, he was still so large, but his head was about next to hers. He shook his head. He watched his breath come out cloudy in the frosted air, thankful for his thick pelt.
(sorry for the short post...)

@Starry- you are accepted, and I would love for you to join our roleplay!
@May- I would like for you to re read our rules, and then edit your application. Otherwise it looks very good!!

Falconstar chuckled, and shook his head. "No, not too much. Today, there are lots of smells... but that is because of the season we are in." he looked around. Everything was green, and lush, and beautiful. Soon it would be leaf-fall, and then leaf-bare... and he didn't want to imagine leaf-bare. He hated the lack of prey, the lack of warmth... nothing good came with the season of cold, besides maybe the fun of the snow- and he hadn't experienced that since he was a young warrior.
"No, when as you grow old, you will also grow to love these smells, and miss them around the year." he began to keep walking around the forest, around the borders they had lain. Not unlike the four clans that lived alongside one another, Clan of Tooth and Claw still laid down scent markers, despite their lack of neighbors. As he walked, he explained to Russetkit the prey she might find out in the forest. At this time, the leader decided not to mention the predators and the horrors that came with them. He did not find this to be an appropriate time to breed fear. "Have you thought about the future?" he finally asked. He had to stop discussing the prey- his mouth was watering. He also figured he could ask her about herself, and find out about her dreams of becoming a warrior. Or at least, that is the answer he figured she would have.

Alright, you are accepted. If you are looking for rank as medicine cat, I'll just need a roleplay sample, or you can link me to a post on a thread and I can read that. :) With your other cat you can proceed into the roleplay!
-
OOC: anywhere you want. She can be going out to hunt with Shadowwalker, if we could get a response.
-
Alright, I will accept you as our medicine cat. As soon as possible I will add your cat to our rankings, but feel free to join the roleplay. :)
-
He blinked at her, his eyebrows raised. "A medicine cat?" he hadn't actually thought that this kit had wanted something besides becoming a warrior. He looked at her, feeling a strange sense of comfort at the fact that she wanted something so directly related to Starclan, not that any cat in the camp did not reside under Silverpelt, the seventh clan. He continued walking around the border, allowing Russetkit to examine more of the territory. "Well, I'll have to have a talk to our medicine cat." he admitted as he walked, avoiding roots and rocks. Around an area near a narrow part of the river, he stopped. "Would you like to help collect fresh bedding for our clanmates?" he asked. With his nose, he pointed to the moss growing on trees and roots.
ooc: sorry about the short post. Also, let's try to keep the posts that are just ooc to a minimum in the roleplay thread. we have a chat thread for that. and don't worry about it, chris, you've been plenty active. :)

Bramble closed his eyes, a wistful sigh pushing through his parted lips. He felt heavy, with thoughts of the battles still in the forefront of his mind. He looked at Eden. "Did you have to fight your way into this pack?" he murmured the question, not knowing if he actually wanted to know the answer. Thinking out loud, he continued. "I didn't. I wonder why." this struck him as odd, as it wasn't as if he wasn't new to this pack. Willow and himself could be classified as newcomers to the clan, with hardly any roots. The only way it was home, was because they had decided to stay. He rested his muzzle lightly on top of Eden's head, awaiting a response.

He hadn't heard Swallowfoot coming up behind them, and she was downwind so he hadn't scented her. He jumped slightly, and turned his head. After seeing her, her scent wafted to his nostrils. Not that he doubted Russetkits' ability to learn as a medicine cat apprentice, but he didn't want anyone else knowing about his conversation with Russetkit. He hadn't even discussed this with the medicine cat yet, and often times clans would like a sign from Starclan to be sure they're making the right decision. He wanted to make sure the role of medicine cat would be passed down to a cat with a strong connection to their ancestors. He nodded to Russetkit, "I'll be to help you in just a moment." he walked just out of earshot of Russetkit, and looked to Swallowfoot. He let his tail rest on her maw. "I would prefer you not discuss this with any of our clanmates until I speak with Sparrowstep. I will not let Russetkit get her hopes up if it so happens that Sparrowstep says she is not fit for the role." he voice was stern, but there was no hiding that he was only trying to be diplomatic. He hoped he did not give away his desire for Russetkit to become apprentice to Sparrowstep.
-
Bramble had sat there long, feeling the wind ruffle his fur and leave a top coat of frost he was ready to break. "I would love to sit here and continue talking about all of this," he told her. "But if I'm cold, I know you're cold, and we won't be of any use to anyone sick." he didn't want to think about what would happen if they did get sick. He didn't know how this pack treats wolves of no use, but he knew where he came from, if any wolf was "just another mouth to feed", then they'd be dead. There was no room for any care taking, besides the care taking of pups and the elderly. But even with elderly wolves, if they couldn't fight then they were doomed. He stood up, shaking his pelt, feeling his blood circulate. He began licking his shoulders, trying to warm himself up. He nudged Eden, suggesting she do the same.

Also tracking. If I have any questions about the clans, would you prefer I PM you or should I simply ask here?
