Gosh, my dog does that ALL THE TIME. She's a full bred Boston Terrier, Sophia and she loves to escape the house it's why we always have to have her on a leash when we bring her out. Most of the time the biggest reason she would try to escape was usually when she was in heat. Same goes for cats, male cats usually go out on the prowl if they smell another cat in heat, and cats in heat usually go off for it too. It's odd but it happens all the time with our dork. It's a possible reason why your cats missing, but don't worry they'll come back around nighttime or the next morning.
I've always wanted a cat but my mothers deathly allergic to them if she's even in the same room as one her face blows up.
BTW, if you wondering why on earth im on a subaccount on my old account. I was just being an old fart and being sad about all my old characters that died off wayyyy too soon.
