    [font=georgia][color=white]I swallowed, forcing the saliva past the lump in my throat. I walked over to Hope and plopped down beside her. I wrapped my arm around her back and slowly pulled her into me. Flashes from my dark past happened before my eyes. Many thoughts flew in front of my eyes as I remembered them all- my mother laying dead and my younger sisters crying. I tried to comfort them. My father and grandfather died. Comforting my sisters. A random man who pissed me off a little too much. Comforting his daughter. My Toby's mother. Comforting Toby. I was never any good at comforting people. But it wasn't for lack of trying. I could love with my brokenness. I had to- there are no other options. But I always try to help others from theirs.

I mean, I've done it before, but with people who didn't mean too much. It was more for me than Greenie and the other girls I'd had one night stands with.
