"Do they really swim in the river?" Lightpaw asked, gazing at the rushing water. "And how do they even catch those fish?

Bet those cats couldn't catch rabbits though," boasted Lightpaw, wrinkling her nose at the thought of purposefully wetting her paws.
-
"No fair!" Sunfur mewed, and struggled to climb the tree.
-
Moonkit mewed with joy, and gave the deputy a respectful lick. She tingled from head to toe. She wished her mother could have been there, and been Skycloud instead of lonesome, rouge, Sky.
-
"How do you always think right?" Moonkit mewed in awe.
-
Windwhisper nodded. "Sure," she mewed, standing and stretching. "The fresh kill pile could use some more prey. Plus," she added with a sly grin. "Maybe we'll meet a nice tom out there."
-
Sunfur was not built for tree-climbing. His heavy stature made it difficult for him to climb. "Come on, come back down," he pleaded, pausing to catch his breath on a limb. "I'll give you a head start!"
-
Windwhisper came up behind him. "Cutting it kind of close, aren't you Jayfrost?" mewed the silvery she-cat. "We'll be fine, we should just get to Snowpaw."
-
Slowly, Sunfur made his way up the tall tree. He stopped, out of breath, on the branch next to Eaglefeather. He panted, and feigned exhaustion. Then, he snatched the mouse from her jaws. "Got it!" he purred triumphantly, his voice muffled through the mouse. "I----" His paws slipped on the branch. He scrabbled frantically for his grip, but to no avail. He plummeted down to the leafy ground.
-
Windwhisper laughed. "Come on. I have to get my mate home," she purred. She licked one of Ravenfur's wounds and walked with him and Jayfrost back to camp.
-
Lightpaw padded curiously behind her mentor. There were so many scents and sounds... it was amazing.
-
"Well done,"mewed Windwhisper.
-
Sunfur groaned on the floor
-
"Amazing!" mewed Lightpaw breathily.
-
Sunfur emitted a low groan. "I am not doing that again," he muttered. His voice grumbled, but his eyes twinkled. He grinned. "I got the mouse!"
-
"Thanks," Windwhisper mewed, taking a mouse for herself and giving one to Ravenfur,
-
"Only my dignity," he grumbled. trying to pull himself to his feet. In fact, his back felt sore, and his tail twisted, but it wasn't bad. He didn't want to worry Eaglefeather.
-
Windwhisper drew her tongue around her mouth. She sidled over to her mate, Ravenfur, and sat beside him. "Um, Ravenfur?" she mewed quietly. "I-I think I'm expecting kits." She glanced at the other warriors in the den, and hoped none had heard. She didn't want to tell anyone just yet, but Ravenfur deserved to know.
-
Dahlia walked steadily, carrying Mist in her jaws. She wanted to run, but her other two kits, Rain and Thunder, would not be able to keep up. When she had lived with the Housefolk (OOC: humans), there had been many cats. Out here, there were none. It was nothing but rippling waves of grass. Somewhere, she did scent other cats, but is was distant.
Sorrow weighed her heart like a stone. Her fourth kit, Smoke, had not even been a moon old, when the Housefolk had taken him away. She had run, alternating to carry Thunder, Mist and Rain, and take them somewhere they would not be stolen. -
"I'm fine," Sunfur purred, managing to get to his feet. "Oof. Next time I'll fall out of a smaller tree." His green eyes gleamed with amusement.
