nothing burns like the cold. His eyes flicked briefly back to the wolf as the creature slipped off before he turned to look at the others gathering. Araceli, he remembered, as the ambassador to Westeros. He was not close enough to catch her scent, as otherwise, he would've pointed her out as the attacker that night, fortunately. Finally, the leader appeared and the Westerosi monarch lifted his head slightly before he began. "I'm here inquiring as to why one of your Clan attacked one of the inhabitants of Westeros under my protection," Tsubodai growled. The fact that the Sanctum was choosing to allow a filthy Cartellian in their ranks could come later.

nothing burns like the cold. Seeing the ColouredClanner off, Tsubodai supposed that this was a good topic to bring up during their little meeting. The Westeros monarch let out a small mhmm before turning to head back to the castle.

nothing burns like the cold. There was still a few who hadn't arrived, but Tsubodai wasn't waiting all day for them to show up. The Targaryen king cleared his throat. "First of all, alliances," he began. "We've given some of our current allies chances to show that they are committed to the alliance and we have an offer of alliance on the table from ColouredClan. Lady Bolton, you are most qualified to speak about our current allies--what news do you have, good or bad, on their statuses?"

nothing burns like the cold. Tsubodai gauged her words quietly, his flat gaze expressionless. "Then you and Mara shall be the new heads of House Tully," he finally stated with a nod. Reviving houses, hmmm--he would most likely need an official order informing the custodians of Riverrun what was happening. "I shall have a royal decree drawn up granting you the Tully name."

nothing burns like the cold. "The gardeners won't be happy that you're ruining the flowers," Tsubodai stated blandly as he approached. It was the tone of mere observation than any real interest or humor in his voice. Perhaps, his remark could be interpreted to the fact that he wasn't exactly too happy with her freezing the flowers. It was the height of summer and unnatural frost could easily kill them. Like many of the previous monarchs, Tsubodai took care to keep up appearances and that extended to the surroundings. After all, he couldn't be leading guests through a garden of dead, frost-killed flowers.
So what reason did she have for ruining the gardens? The black lion had been taking a walk through the area to find some quiet when the figure of the wolf had attracted his attention. Now, there was that question in his mind and Tsubodai saw no reason not to ask. "Is there a particular reason why you're trying to kill the flowers?" -
nothing burns like the cold. House Darling was the first non-native house of Westeros in a long time and of course she might not be used to such sumptuous surroundings. Tsubodai had lived in BloodClan for a part of his youth and he was familiar with the Darling family from his time there. BloodClan was not the place to grow up if one was looking for opulent surroundings--since he knew her to be a Darling, he assumed that she had grown up there. The Targaryen monarch let out a small affirmative grunt of agreement towards her first statements before his attention was drawn to the flowers.
"Westeros boasts longer summers than most other places," the black lion returned. "I suppose it does something to the plantlife here." He padded closer to glance over the variety of blooms she had collected. "Are you enjoying Oldtown and Westeros?" -
yep as stated above!!

nothing burns like the cold. He usually always held meetings at this time and date, so the inhabitants of Westeros were generally wiser in anticipating them. Tsubodai didn't waste time waiting for longer--there was an ample crowd already. "Westeros, please offer a welcome to those new and returning members who have arrived in the past week. In terms of other news, BlizzardClan has invited us to a Blind Date event they are hosting." He probably wasn't going to go--blind dates were for plebeians. "Llyr is hosting swimming lessons and Lord Darling has a meeting set up for those of his region. In addition, Lady Alfeynnah is offering a tour of her lands."

nothing burns like the cold. A visitor. They had a lot of those these days, but today, it was different because it was Lady Mallister who was here. The jet colored lion approached quietly, coming to stand by his son and daughter. Since Khaalida had asked the question, Tsubodai gave a small nod of acknowledgment and did not talk, instead waiting for Jaelynn to answer. He was mildly curious what reason his daughter was here, considering the fact she had just taken hold of Riverrun--surely she was busy with her newly acquired lands? However, it wasn't about that now and his flat gaze shifted back towards Lady Mallister, wondering what she was here for.
-
nothing burns like the cold. It was obvious that the Sanctum leader had no idea that this had happened and probably did not order it. However, Tsubodai was not content with that. "The smell was familiar--it was a Sanctum member who had come to Westeros before," the dragon answered. "Leopold is healing right now. He survived." He had a sneaking suspicion that perhaps, the attacker was only gauging how easy it was to infiltrate Westeros when they had come. "I'm also curious why you have a Cartellian in your Clan. I'm sure you're well aware of their sex trafficking operation."
-
nothing burns like the cold. The Sanctum and the Rift. Though he did like Cyrus, Tsubodai wouldn't let his personal views get in the way. The king let out a small hum before concluding, "Then the Rift and the Sanctum will be dropped to neutrals." People seemed to be more divided on the issue of who to add as an ally. Tsubodai was content with the war on the Cartel, since they had moral reasoning as well as their own political ones. Dragging Westeros into other wars that meant nothing to him was not what he wanted. "If anyone else has an opinion about ColouredClan, speak up."
His eyes turned towards his daughter as she spoke about the Cartel. "Hopefully Xael is less of an idiot that Caera. I would expect a child not to apologize and do nothing about their disgusting acts," Tsubodai remarked.
-
nothing burns like the cold. So quick to the point. Tsubodai had a feeling that Lady Mallister was ambitious with announcing her return and the like, putting the name out there so quickly, and this only confirmed his suspicions. Another one of her points caught his attention first, though. Was there tension in the past? Tsubodai did not recall a time when there were tensions with his house--he considered them a nonentity brought to power by pretender kings who kept his seat warm on the Iron Throne. Perhaps she was overestimating her importance.
But to the marriage proposal. Tsubodai curtly responded, "I shall talk with my family and hope to arrange for a suitable match." The Sanctuary was a good group to get closer with, considering their resurgence, and he had plenty of daughters to pick from. -
nothing burns like the cold. Tsubodai was pleased that this one seemed more intelligent than some of the others he had met. Though he never shared his opinions on the general populace out loud, most of them were quite lacking in the brain department, it seemed to him, even among the nobility. It made him all the more appreciative of the fact that he was good at picking out talent from the rabble to be his advisers.
"Perhaps," he agreed with a small nod. Tsu was also pleased that she was enjoying it here, from what she said. "If you are in ever need of anything, just say." However, as the talk went to history, the black lion raised a brow. He wasn't too much of a reader or a frequenter of libraries, but he had to admit they had their use. The only history he was interested in was the history that had a use to him--the golden lineage of the Targaryen dynasty and all that happened involving them. "I would expect that," he offered with a small amount of humor in his voice. "Westeros has a long history and we are a very literate society. There is plenty of time for you to learn." -
nothing burns like the cold. "A military planner without work," he echoed. There was a dry twist of amusement in his voice before he continued, "We are at war with the Cartel. Surely you could war against them instead of warring against flowers? The Cartel have violated Westerosi neutrality and were building a sex trafficking ring. Surely those are worse crimes than whatever these poor flowers committed." Not to mention, the Cartel could actually try and fight back, unlike the flowers, despite the fact that it wasn't much of a fight they had been putting up. Tsubodai would've thought that their leader would sue for peace soon enough or show some remorse for what she allowed to happen by now. But what did he expect from a foolish child?
How pleasant of her to offer to recompense for her wanton act of destruction. Tsubodai shrugged. "What's done is done." As she inquired of the reason he was here and how his lands were doing, he answered, "I was hoping to enjoy the peace and quiet of my gardens. And yes, the Red Keep is doing well." -
nothing burns like the cold. Tsubodai would give the unfortunate news first. "Kinleigh Stark has stepped down from her position. I wish her the best in whatever endeavors she takes on. Shoutouts to Lady Alfeynnah, Lord Varick, Lady Katarina, Lady Khaalida, Lady Jaelynn, and Llyr. Westeros appreciates your hard work." But now, promotions, what everyone seemed to be waiting for. "I would like to promote Josephine to Chevalier and Queenie and Amethyst to nobles." They were all deserving of their new ranks, in Tsubodai's thoughts. "This meeting is dismissed, unless anyone else has other announcements or any newcomers or guests would like to introduce themselves."
-
nothing burns like the cold. "Thank you for the invitation," Tsubodai offered as he approached Ximen. Another form? The BloodClanner seemed to enjoy body hopping. But SunClanners skinning and eating others now? Well, they had come a long, long way. But back to the business at hand--the black dragon gave a small smile and dipped his head. "I'll be sure to come."
-
nothing burns like the cold. "Thinking of something?" The inquiry came from the lean black lion that came to the area, his gaze curious. Tsubodai knew this to be a general gathering place that was frequented by many, so considering the fact that there were plenty of newcomers and guests in the past week, he needed to come to this place more to acquaint himself with them.
