Hawke took a deep breath of the fresh forest air, he heard a yelp, a yelp of pure pain and fright. He took off running, his paws pounding on the forest floor, toward the desperate sound, as he ran a smell became sharper, hunters! Hawke skidded to a halt into a nearby clump of nettles. He stayed down, his belly on the ground. Some nettles tugged at his dirty pelt as he crept closer to the edge of the plant. Stupid nettles! My pelt must be a disaster! He shook his head, This is far to important to e worrying about my appearance!. Another breath revealed the same hunter's stench but some wolf was mixed in. This must be the wolf I heard earlier! He thought. Hawke brushed away some nettles with his snout and the mysterious wolf came into view. She's beautiful! He realized, studying her silver pelt, And I'm a mess!.

Hawke saw the she-wolf look in his direction but he knew she hadn't seen him. He opened his mouth in search of the hunters but they had finally given up the chase. He padded cautiously out of the undergrowth and sighed in relief at the already stale scent of hunters. Hawke thundered over to the she-wolf, "Are you alright!?"
