[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px][justify][size=8]The warmth radiating from the soft fur beckoned the young she-kit forward and into its depths, where she settled down with a content little meow, a soft sound that could barely be heard. She felt something rough and comforting lick her brown-tabbied fur, causing it to spike back in the opposite direction while the rest of it remained flat and slick. Without eyes or ears to guide her, the young she-kit could only rely on a sense of touch and a faint sense of smell.
Somehow, deep inside, she knew that the warm fur and the rough tongue meant something positive.

"Daddy! Look what I can do!" a she-kit's voice squeaked from behind the ivy tendrils that hung before the entrance to the Nursery. A few moments later, a small head popped out accompanied by a wide grin and a mischievous glint in the baby blues of her eyes. She scurried out of the den before turning around to face the entrance again, face scrunched in a look of concentration. Without a moment of hesitation, Junekit charged towards the tendrils, pushing off with as much strength as she could muster with her hind legs, throwing her front paws forward in order to catch one of the swinging tendrils.
However, she hadn't been expecting to miss. Though her paws managed to snag the tendril for a second, it slipped out of her grasp and had her crashing to the ground instead. She managed to splay her legs out in a star-like pattern, and though it dulled the impact, a jolt still went through her body when her paws slammed against the ground.
"Never mind," she grumbled, glaring at the ivy tendrils as they mockingly swished and swayed before her.
The anger very quickly turned into embarrassment as she peeked out of the Nursery, hoping her father hadn't seen the epic fail.

Junekit's look of embarrassment and slight discomfort turned into one of smugness. "Yeah!" she squeaked, blowing a raspberry at the hanging tendrils before giggling. Now that her daddy had showed them who's boss, there was no need to worry about them anymore. After all, Daddy was an important cat in the clan, or so she'd been told, and his word was super important. Honestly, though, Junekit wasn't sure how the clan hierarchy worked or what the word "hierarchy" even meant. She just knew that Daddy was big and strong and the best person in the world.
"Daddy, why do I have to stay in the Nursery all the time? It's so boring in here!" In the blink of an eye, the subject was thrown in a completely opposite direction, as was customary with most kits who had a short attention span and the need for excitement all the time.
-
"And warm," Junekit added, hunkering down into the nearest best as a breeze caused the ivy tendrils to flicker and nip at her skin. She let out a content little sigh, closing her eyes for a moment and savouring the warmth and the comforting smell her mother had left lingering in the Nursery. The moment of peace only lasted a few seconds, though. As her father leaned in close, Junekit's eyes snapped open.
"The forest?" she asked with wide eyes, bouncing up onto the tips of her toes. "Yes! Yay! Woohoo!" With a giddy smile on her face, she bounced around the perimeter of the Nursery. When she glanced back at her father and remembered his words, she stopped and cleared her throat in an attempt to look big and tough, exactly how she saw her father as. "I promise to be on my best behaviour," she replied in as professional of a voice as she could muster, all the while attempting to hide her big, fat grin.
-
As if on a secret mission that her life depended on, Junekit waited for a moment before cautiously following Tumultdusk, keeping her belly close to the ground and tail flicking excitedly in the air. She managed to keep silent while slithering out of the den, shooting the ivy tendrils a final glare and a soft raspberry, before bouncing up onto her paws and running to catch up with him. It was hard to contain the grin on her face as they neared the camp's exit, her body buzzing with excitement. "Thank you, Daddy," she breathed, butting her head against one of his legs while grinning up at him.

[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; width: 450px;][justify][size=8]can you make itYes, ma'am! I'll make it ASAP. c: Would it be okay if I assumed that Brielle was in the Nursery and that Junekit could, I dunno, stumble in for a nap and curl up beside her?
-
Junekit technically wasn't old enough to be a part of a meeting, but she poked her head out of the Nursery anyway when she heard her father's voice.
-
Wide-eyed, Junekit stumbled into the Nursery. Her eyelids felt as though they were made of lead, that if she blinked for even a second they would stumble and close. As much as she wanted to sleep, Junekit had to find her mother first. She couldn't sleep next to just anyone; as extroverted as she was, the little she-kit was shy around those that she didn't know. "Mommy?" she squeaked, stumbling around the Nursery in search of Brielle.
When the answer didn't come right away, panic wound itself tight around her words. "M-Mommy?"
-
"It's so boring in here!" Junekit groaned, flopping onto her back with an overly dramatic sigh and a glare at the ceiling. "Why do you have to be so boring?" she asked the den, as if expecting the inanimate object to answer her. She knew it wouldn't, but it would've been nice to have a reason for staying besides her own safety. She couldn't wait until she was a trainee and able to leave the stupid place and go on adventures and live a life of excitement and thrills. Another sigh escaped maw, which was set into a hard line.
A few moments later, her frown turned into a quick smile when she saw a figure by the ivy tendrils. "Hi!" she squeaked, rolling onto her paws and bouncing into a standing position. Finally!
-
The beach was the one spot that her father hadn't taken her to. She knew that she would regret sneaking out later, but the Nursery was too boring and the outside too exciting to ignore. So, with a quick glance around the camp and behind her shoulder, Junekit darted across the camp and slipped out, breathing a sigh of relief when no one came charging after her. Feeling a little less nervous and a little more excitement, the she-kit skipped towards the golden glow of the sand and the tantalizing scent of water in the air. When she arrived, she was surprised to see another figure there who appeared to be talking to the birds and imitating their sounds.
A giggle erupted from her chest. "Caw! Caw!" she squeaked, mimicking what the other cat was doing while her eyes moved to watch the dark figures in the sky.
-
"Mommy!" Junekit cried in delight, rushing over to slam her paws around Brielle's leg and grip it in a fierce hug. "I missed you," she murmured quietly into the ragdoll's fur, closing her eyes and breathing in the comforting scent that clung to her mother's pelt. After a few moments like that, Junekit pulled herself away and looked up at her. "I'm tired," she announced with a yawn, smacking her lips together while her eyes slowly slid shut only to be forced open a few seconds later. She yawned again, staring at Brielle sleepily.
-
Junekit had absolutely no idea what a Viceroys was (or had been now), so it honestly didn't affect her at all. She merely watched her father as he spoke to the clan, wondering why he looked so sad.
-
When Junekit realized who it was, the she-kit's smile brightened even further. "Ami!" she cooed in delight, scampering over to her half-sibling with wobbly legs. She flopped down beside the apprentice, gazing up at her adoringly with her blue eyes. It was so nice to have older siblings since sometimes Daddy or Mommy were too busy to entertain her; Ami had come in just the nick of time, as Junekit had been on the verge of possibly wrecking a nest and making a fort out of it, or doing something that would've landed her in trouble.
"Absolutely nothing! I'm so bored," she groaned, rolling over onto her back and staring up at the ceiling with a huff. "I bet you've been doing fun apprentice stuff, huh? I can't wait until I'm an apprentice and can do whatever I want," Junekit grumbled bitterly, feeling a twinge of envy and jealousy towards her half-sister.
-
Junekit let out a squeal of delight as her mother raised her from the ground and placed her on her back. She dug her little claws into Brielle's pelt, clinging for dear life as she giggled at her mother's comment. "I was waiting for you, Mommy! I like taking naps with you," she purred, snuggling into her mother's pelt and breathing in her comforting scent, Brielle's muscles rippling beneath the little she-kit as she padded towards the cavern and flopped down. A soft yawn escaped her tiny maw. "Boring," she murmured, allowing her eyes to slide shut for a moment. "I wanna be an apprentice now."
