[justify]Eliza sat there, busily scribbling away at paperwork as usual. Since the day she had become independent, she had worked feverishly to become stronger and stronger. Being free was a difficult task, but one that she maintained proudly... With a little bit of help from her brothers, Alfred and Mattie, of course. She hardly had any time to think about the past, what with the many wars she had been entangled in lately. "Dudette. Like seriously. This is a meeting. Chill out a bit, huh? Take a break and relax." her brother, Alfred, cheerily suggested, patting her on the back while she rolled her eyes. She set her pen down on the table and raised an eyebrow,"Fine, fine. You're right." she sighed, looking in front of her and, of course, accidentally making eye contact with Arthur. She seldom talked to England anymore, and when she did, it was generally to talk business or politics.

[justify]Eliza looked away before she could see his smile, and instead directed her attention over to Alfred. "Just so much to do what with the war and all." she grumbled, well aware that her brother was too lazy to do his own work and that she had to do it for him. "And so little help." the female nation yawned sleepily and stood up,"I'm going to go get some tea real quick before the meeting starts. I'll be back in a second." If there was one thing that Eliza got from Arthur, it was her love for tea. She could live off of the stuff and, for the most part, did. She walked out of the room and headed down the hall.
-
[justify]When Eliza got back, it was with a cup of the same exact tea that Arthur had. She sat back in her seat with a long sigh and then looked over at Alfred,"Are you gonna start this meeting or no?" she asked her brother, to which he nodded and stood up,"Yep! Hey dudes..." he continued speaking, giving various statistics about the current wars. Victories, losses, and all of that good junk. Eliza found herself zoning out and ended up looking at Arthur. "Can't we discuss anything pleasant at these things for a change?" she mouthed, rolling her eyes. She was sick of war and everything about it.
-
[justify]Eliza folded her arms over her chest as Arthur spoke up. "A new country?" she asked without thinking. Her dark eyes glowed with interest.

[justify]Eliza smirked,"Awe, that little squirt who declared himself a micronation?" she asked, crossing her arms and leaning back in her uncomfortable chair. She'd heard of it once or twice, but had more important things to do than look into the situation. More important things such as the war that she, America, and a few others were in against Germany and several others, who she refused to so much as cast a glance at. Anyways, she couldn't help but to appreciate how Arthur had changed the subject away from war when she'd complained about it, although why he was helping her out was beyond her.

[justify]Unistan found herself becoming a little bit scared. Crap! What if he got angry at her? What if he thought her ignorant for so much as asking? She realized in that instant that she would have to stop considering the what-ifs unless she wanted to totally chicken out. She wasn't raised to be a weakling or a coward. She was raised to confront her problems head on, no hesitation! "How are jou zhis morning? Did jou sleep vell enough?" she asked, deciding to slip into an easy conversation before bringing out her real purpose in confronting him. She had a German accent as well, though hers was much less prominent than those of Germany and Prussia, and sometimes disappeared altogether.
-
[justify]"That's adorable. I wish the kid the best of luck, I guess." Eliza remarked politely. She knew better than to engage in any kind of actual conversation with England. Their relationship, in her mind, had to remain strictly business-related, otherwise, she had this irrational fear of being taken over again even though her army that was practically equal to that of the Americans'. Unfortunately for her, directly after the meeting, she had a plane waiting to lift her off into enemy territory so that she could fight alongside her soldiers somewhere in the midst of Germany. It sucked, but that's the life of a country for you.
-
[justify]"Ouch. Maybe I just wanted to have a nice little chat, Germany." Unistan replied, shaking her head in a mockingly scornful manner. She guessed that she should have known better than to go for the tactic that she had used, but whatever. Just as she always did when something was causing her anxiety, Louisa began twirling a strand of her raven black hair around her index finger before speaking again.
"Seeing as how you're in no mood for that, though, I guess I should just get to my point. See, I've been thinking lately. I've been doing a lot of research, and have realized something. Vell, a few zhings, actually, but the main point is zhis." Time seemed to hold it's breath in the small pause that she took before speaking,"I would save nearly thirty percent of my overall annual salary if I were independent, and my poverty rate would go down seven-fold. Not to mention the fact that your soldiers are always hanging around due to the recently passed acts of safety, and, ironically, more crime has been zheir doing zhen zhat of actual criminals since they apparently believe that laws don't apply to them when they're out of their home country." She stopped speaking, face blood red.
"I'm just, uh... Just going to cut to the chase since you're probably sick of my rambling."
"I came to ask... I came to request that we break our ties. Permanently." -
[justify]It was in Unistan's nature to be embarrassed and retreat into a shell after such a harsh put-down... But with all of the courage that she had worked up in asking such a question, she wasn't about to give up. She turned around and looked up at him,"I'm not weak, Germany." she coolly remarked. Okay. So her military wasn't exactly as strong as that of her superior, but she was kinda-sorta getting there. She didn't believe for one second what he said about the whole 'after a few meetings' things. In fact, she knew that it was total rubbish. "Besides... I have a few nations who would assist me without hesitation. I could do it! And you're ignoring what I said-" she walked around to stand in front of him, her arms crossed over her chest.,"-about money. At this rate, unless you do something to get your soldiers the hell out and lower the tax-rates on everything, my economy will be crippled beyond repair."
-
[justify]Unistan repressed the overwhelming urge to make a smart-aleck remark about expecting military help from him. That was one issue out of the way, but there were numerous others than needed fixing as well. "What about money, then?" she demanded crossly. She was stubbornly pursuing this particular project of hers, determined for it to end how she wanted it to... How exactly it was that she wanted it to end is an enigma in itself, but she figured that she would know when the argument finally came to an end. "I practically charge these people for breathing, all so that a third of it can contribute to you. Have you seen my poverty rate lately? It's skyrocketed up almost thirty-five percent front ten years ago. My citizens are starving to death, and it's all because I can't afford to lower the prices of anything!"
Ooc: In case you were confused, her human name is Louisa. She is not the state of Louisiana. x3

Ic: Unistan stood there for a moment, watching incredulously as Germany stormed away. "At least try to come to some kind of agreement with me!" she exclaimed, stomping after him in a huff."I'm trying to do everything that I need to in order to make sure that Unistanians can live comfortably, Germany, and you're really making it difficult! I promise you that I won't last long without a lot more leniency on your part." She was obviously getting pretty heated over this argument, and her original proposition of independence was looking more tempting than ever. So tantalizing, in fact, that she was considering things that she would once have never considered. Last resort situations.

[justify]Once the meeting had come to an end, Eliza walked out of the building to the black car that she had waiting to drive her off to the airport. She couldn't help but to notice Arthur getting into his car over in the next parking lane and, before she could even think about what she was doing, the young nation was jogging over to him. "Hey, Arthur! Wait just one moment!" she called, pausing beside his car and looking into the window. "Can I have a word with you? It will only be a moment, I promise."
-
[justify]Unistan glared at him,"Oh, I'll bet jou do." she muttered, having gone beyond the point of just simple anger. It wouldn't have even been this bad had he at least tried to meet her somewhere in the middle, but he was practically ignoring her. She spun around and began storming off in the direction of her bedroom, loudly exclaiming as she went,"It's perfectly fine! I know zhat my vell-being is far less important zhan zhe meeting of zhe great and poverful Germany and a stinking Italian! I'll probably be dead from starvation by zhe time you get back, jou jerk!" Yeah, she was exaggerating, but only by a little bit. She had been losing quite some weight lately, and it had been worrying her for far too long. She was sure to slam her door really hard for good measure, and then began stomping angrily through her bedroom, kicking and slapping anything in her sight around. When Louisa had temper tantrums... They could get a bit out of hand, but she usually only had them in private, which was for the best.
-
[justify]Eliza breathed a sigh of relief before beginning,"Starting today, I'm going to be gone for a long time. In enemy territory, and, um, I just wanted you to know that, if anything happens to me, that..." she paused a moment, staring down at the cracked pavement beneath her feet and then back up at the Englishman. "Just... You know. Thanks." she shrugged. She felt the need, for the first time ever, to thank him. For raising her into the country that she was. "For everything. I wouldn't be here today if if weren't for you, you know?" s
-
[justify]This got Eliza to smirk. She leaned against the car that was behind her and laughed, "Oh, but Arthur. I prefer things to be dangerous. It adds a bit of spice to my painfully dull life." She looked back to see the black car still waiting for her, the driver likely becoming impatient. With a sigh, she turned back to him,"Seriously though. I have to be going, otherwise my driver may have my head on a stick. You be safe too, alright?" She frowned a moment, looked around to make sure that nobody was in hearing ranger, and then murmured,"I hear that those dirty Germans are heading your way."

Ooc: Unistan, also known as Louisa, is a country who has lived with Germany her entire life. Of course, she's unaware of the fact that Ludwig has feelings for her, and goes to him, asking for independence since she is ruled by and lives with him. He declines which only leads to anger, and this anger leads to war. Will the two countries be reunited out of love, or will anger take over their hearts and cause destruction?
Ic: Louisa sat at the kitchen counter, dressed in a black tanktop and some green cargo pants. Her black hair was up in a ponytail, showing that she had just got done with her morning training session. She was watching Ludwig, who was seated over at his desk in the next room. It was time, she knew, to approach him about the one thing that had been bothering her for so long: she wanted to be a free, independent nation of her own. "Ludwig...?" she began at last, walking into the office with an uncertain expression on her pale face.

[justify]Ic: Mariya sat in the corner of her cell in a rusty old chair. Her chin was lifted and she had a defiant glare in her reddish-brown eyes. Outside of the barred window, the sun was setting in the sky. "This cell is so medieval, don't you think?" she complained to whoever it was sitting guard at this point.
Ooc: The North Pole is an Prisoner of War to the Italians in World War III since it was thought that she was working with her brother, Russia. She refused to speak about his plans though, claiming to have no clue about any of it. When Romano is posted as her guard one night, the two of them strike up a conversation and find that they have more in common than they'd thought.
