"I can't believe those twolegs made the path for these monsters," Foxpaw growled, changing the subject. "So this is Shadow Clan's border?"

"What?" She asked curiously.
All she could smell was her clanmates since they were only a few foxlengths from the camp. She also wasn't the best warrior. She never thought she'd actually become one after her training was finished. It used to seem unimaginable. She couldn't bring harm to a fly. -
Foxfur sighed. It seemed impossible that any cat could take them in an instant, right from under a queen's nose. Also, if the clan's assumptions were true and kits were being stolen, none of the warriors could've possibly done it. Still, at the same time, the cats in the clearing would've seen an intruder, surely.
She shook her head. This was madness.
"If it would be any help, I could go on a mission to search for them. Want to come with me?" -
"Their scent markers smell foul. Its like a dead rat filled with maggots," Foxpaw scoffed, but she inhaled deeply. She wanted to learn from it and be able to identify a Shadowclan cat if she ever came across one.
Just then, a monster sped past noisly, and she jumped back. All she wanted to do was get away from these things. Also, she was anxious to learn about the other clans in the forest.
"What's next?" She asked. -
"Unfortunately yes. Tigerkit and Wolfkit," Foxfur sighed. "I was just asking Snowcrystal if she wanted to go on a search party to find that nasty snake heart who has been stealing Thunderclan kits. Care to join?"
-
"Okay!" Foxpaw said enthusiastically, raising her tail. She then began to bound fowards, taking the lead even though she barely knew where she was going.
-
"I knew that, I just want you to know," Foxpaw chuckled slightly, and then began to follow Rustclaw in the opposite direction.
"I only went that way because I saw something shiny and was attracted to it like a fish. That is my defense." -
Foxpaw laughed slightly.
"Yes. I believe my mother told me that when I was a rouge. Probably some fable though." -
"Good idea," Foxfur meowed in agreement.
Then, without hesitation, she padded in to the nursery and flicked her tail for them to follow.
The floor seemed damp from the recent snow storm that had hit all the clans, and that was all she could smell when she first entered. She then began to look around. -
"A pawprint?" Foxfur asked unbelievingly as she made her way over.
Sure enough, there it was. A faint, muddy pawprint, and as she sniffed around, she noticed a track of them, heaviest with mud starting at the small crack on the side of the nursery. But how would the theif get through? He had dug a tunnel for himself!
"The mouse brain literally didn't seem to cover their tracks. I think they dug a hole over there and that's why their paws were muddy, but the trail wouldn't be visble out there in the grass. Let's keep looking just in case we missed something," she suggested. -
Foxpaw immediantly followed after. She was so glad that Rustclaw hadn't rejected anything she brought up from the past, and easily answerred her questions, even if she was secretly regretting getting a mouse brained apprentice.
The chirping of birds interupted her train of thought and she stopped for a moment to look up. They seemed so content up there, as if nothing could harm them. She licked her lips and lashed her tail.
"When are you going to teach me to hunt?" She asked. "I mean, not today of course." -
Foxpaw looked up evily at the birds again, thinking to herself. Soon, soon.
"Okay," she chimed, going back to her cheery attitude. "Sounds good." -
"Windclan?" Foxfur asked. It seemed so absurd.
"Are you sure? Why would they steal Thunderclan kits?" -
Foxpaw followed after, sniffing the air for more scents.
-
"I see why they call it Fourtrees," Foxfur nodded, looking up at the trees, and then she noticed a huge rock in the center.
"Is that the Great Rock?" -
"I'm not sure what you're talking about. What happened on the eclipse?" Foxfur asked. Her tail twitched. What event had she missed?
-
"Fine. Boerd I guess. Nothing has really been happening lately," Nightfeather sighed, "How are you? You took quite the hit to ice back there. You ok?"
-
"Oh.....," she said, embarassed. She had left the clan for quite a few moons in search of her rouge mother. She couldn't believe she wasn't here to defend her clan! Nobody had told her.
"So what are we going to do? We can't just waltz on to their territory." -
"Guys, you're really thinking that we can walk through their territory unnoticed?" Foxfur scoffed. "Unless you want to get your throats ripped out, we need to disguise our scent at least."
She then laid down and rolled in the mud.
"You don't have to, but I don't like to see my friends get hurt." -
"Ok. Who gets invited here during the gatherings? Id really like to see it when there's actually something going on."
Foxpaw couldn't imagine so many cats visiting here at all, especially if they're all from different clans. There must be lots of tension and strife.
