    [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; width:450px; line-height:50%; text-align:justify][sup]Isaac walked in without a date. He'd been tempted to ask Jocelyn if she wanted to go to him but wasn't sure if that'd go down well. The deputy smiled softly and sighed, seated himself by the alcohol, an unlit cigarette hanging from his lip. The bipolar alcoholic rested his head against the wall and closed his eyes, slowly nodding his head to the music. Riot had sure as hell done a good job of this prom.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; width:450px; line-height:50%; text-align:justify][sup]frowning suddenly as he noticed the pinkish hue of her cheeks, he panicked and cleared his throat. well, great. had he said something wrong? he'd just been as honest as he could be with her, and that was what you were supposed to do with your betrothed, right? he had never been honest with lee. all he'd done was lie and say he was fine when actually he was resembling a violent hurricane beneath his matted fur, dirty skin and tired muscles.

    honesty was a trait that isaac didn't quite understand. once upon a time, he had been honest, selfless, kind, brave and intelligent. he'd lost every last one of those traits in the space of ten months — now he was a selfish, rude liar who could only be described as a cynical coward. cowardice was something isaac knew well. he was too scared to try and help thousandlies as she slowly slipped away in his arms and he was too afraid to commit to this marriage. but at the same time, isaac was terrified to dare to decline the offer of a targaryen.

    listening to jocelyn speak was like listening to himself back when he was all those good things. she was so truthful and open-minded.. all the things isaac wasn't. "jocelyn.. i want to go through with this. i mean, it's not like i can turn back now anyway. i've committed to it. it's the first thing i've dared to commit to in a long time, so i'm not gonna drop out. not now." he said.

    now that was a brave thing to say and do. he wasn't afraid anymore. if he was afraid all the time, he wouldn't get anywhere. jocelyn would just avoid him. he wanted to get close to her because he didn't just want this to be a one-off. he wanted this to actually turn into something that one day he might be able to call love.

    For anyone else, the sound of birds crying would be normal. To Isaac, it was just an add-on to the frustration he was already feeling. The whole arranged marriage thing was bothering him, even though he was pretty much head-over-heels with his wife to-be. It was just the idea of being the person in control of an alliance that really stressed him out.

    Not to mention the fact that Mascaratears was back. Obviously he wasn't aware of her presence in Homewrecker — he just felt like she was still alive, somewhere, somehow. It was the same with Lee. Even though Isaac was one hundred percent sure that Lee was dead, he still felt like he was still watching over him. Plus Thousandlies wouldn't be pleased.

    [ we talked about making it
    i'm sorry that you never made it
    ]

    Isaac had gone on a hike back to WindClan's old territory by the mountains. He didn't know why he'd done it. It was kind of destroyed and decrepit now, but he had too many memories there to just let it decay alone. His cave was there, his throwing knife tree was there. More importantly, his stash of alcohol and cigarettes was there, always ready to be returned to when he ran out of his current stash back at their new home.

    [ and it pains me just to hear you have to say it ]

    He had a worn leather rucksack slung over his shoulder, emptied of everything that was inside it, save two unused cigarettes and a lighter in case he got desperate. There used to be three of them, but now one of them was hanging from his lip, burning away as Isaac inhaled the fumes.

    As he pulled up in his clearing, he set the bag on the ground and started to climb the tree he had thrown so many knives at in the past. There was a little hideaway between the branches where a satchel hung, filled with bottles of various alcohols and packs of cigarettes. Isaac grabbed the satchel and clambered back down with it in his jaws. Emptying the contents into his bigger backpack, he sighed and made sure that everything would fit.

    The sound of birdsong reached his ears once again, causing an even heavier, more exasperated sigh to leave his lips.

    [ you knew the game and played it
    it kills to know that you have been defeated
    ]

    He walked over to tree where three knives lay. Picking them up carefully, he shoved them in the rucksack as well and shook his fur out, exhaling sharply. He hauled the now extremely heavy bag over his back and trudged back to camp very, very slowly.

    Thoughts went over his head like every last inch of the white sky. What if he did something wrong at the wedding and Eurydice got mad at him? What if Jocelyn found out about his depression and tried to help him, so much so that it just made him feel ten times worse than he already did and fucked up his drinking problem even more?

    Each thought that came to him formed a chain. They all revolved around Jocelyn, Eurydice, alcohol, weddings, Lee, Maisie and— it was all too much. Isaac fell down around half a mile from WindClan's new camp in the abandoned city. He was just far away enough for a passing patrol to find him. His almost crazed gaze fell on a stray rock and some horrible, murderous intention washed over him. Nothing would go wrong if he didn't turn up for whatever reason, right?

    Right.

    [ i see the wires pulling while you're breathing
    you knew you had a reason, it killed you like diseases
    ]

    He reached for the rock and he stared at it for a few moments, studying its surface while he considered the consequences of doing what he was about to do. He may lose his position, but at least that'd be one less chore. People might give up on him and "put him down", putting him six feet under.

    But maybe it was better that way.

    Picking it up, Isaac squeezed his eyes shut as he braced himself for the heavy impact of the rock against his head. Raising it high, he let out a shaky breath and smashed it over his head, not even daring to cry out in pain.

    [align=right][ i can hear it in your voice while
    you're speaking, you can't be treated
    ]

    His limp body fell to the ground, the bloodstained rock rolling off to the side. Isaac's vision went fuzzy and a splitting pain entered his head. The lynx point struggled to breathe as his body relaxed and started slipping into the deepest sleep he'll ever experience and let one single word leave his lips.

    "Jo.. Joce— Jocelyn."

    Of course Isaac knew that the only reason she'd find out about his comatose state was through Lilystar, so he just hoped that she'd let Westeros know. She was the only one who knew about his alliance marriage, and that wasn't even because he wanted her to know. It was because she had to know. It was her clan, and her alliance to fulfill.

    Now that he reflected on it, he wasn't that worried about it.

    He had made a big mistake.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0pt; width:450px; line-height:50%; text-align:justify][sup]Isaac shuddered at the mention of the alliance with Westeros, clearing his throat. The deputy relaxed as he heard the absence of his name on the demoted list, blinking soft blue eyes. Well, that wasn't so bad.

    [fancypost borderwidth=1px; background: url(http://i.imgur.com/PNImyEI.gif); width:400px; height:140px; background-position: top][/fancypost]

    Listening to her intently, Isaac nodded gratefully at her proposal and shook his fur out, trying to look at least semi-presentable for the people of Westeros. No doubt he'd pass a few patrols on his walk with Jocelyn. "Have you got somewhere in mind? I.. I don't really know much about Westeros and its territory, so I probably won't be much help," he said, smiling softy.

    The WindClanner's ice blue eyes looked around the Throne Room. Lilystar's den wasn't nearly as grand as this. It was just a small room. He remembered her old den back at the mountain. That mountain had probably been his favourite place in the whole world. Isaac had lived in three places in the space of twenty-four months. The moors and the barn, the mountains and now this underground.. thing. He still wasn't sure if he liked their new home, but was sure he'd adjust to it no matter what in due time.

    Finally returning to the present, his eyes fell on Jocelyn once more. Beautiful, intelligent Jocelyn. He then looked at his paws. Dirty, foul-mouthed Isaac. To have two polar opposites in the same room was such a rare thing, especially when it was about an arranged marriage. Sighing, Isaac prepared himself for Jocelyn's suggestions.

    Isaac perked his ears and a hint of a smile graced his maw as spying was mentioned. "As the head spy here in WindClan, I'll let you go. Since there's no one else on the team, I might as well promote you to spy as well," he said, shrugging his shoulders towards Solitairepaw. The only people on the team were Jax and himself, so he needed to get more people recruited. "Also Jax, I was wondering if you wanted to step up as co-head?"

    Isaac shook his head, smiling softly at the two of them. "You pick, Soli." he said to her, clearing his throat afterwards.

    Nodding slowly as Solitairepaw and Jax planned everything out, he said, "Sounds good to me. Maybe while you're gone, I can find more people to put on the team?" Last time he had tried to do that, he'd only found one person. The deputy sniffed and rubbed his eye idly, clearing his throat for the third time.
