I sat alone in my small, cozy house along Sunset Beach, waiting for Sam and Harrison to pick me up for the party. It was 5 O'clock, and the party was due to start in about an hour. Ever since I could remember, the parties at Peter's house always started right at sundown, and then the drinking and the partying began. I was seventeen when I started going to the parties, and I remembered how I drank anyways, knowing my parents wouldn't care. there was a honk outside, and I hard loud music and Sam's beckoning laugh. I slipped on my brand new supra shoes that my parents had just bought for me a week ago for my birthday and raced out the door, grabbing my keys and bolting the door shut behind me. As I raced out to the red convertible, I noticed that there was a girl with dyed red hair sitting in the back seat, her face turned away from me. I jumped into the car, pounding fists with Sam who was sitting in the passenger's seat.

"Hey," I said, almost being drowned out by the loud music. "Who'd you guys pick up over here?"

"We brought you a friend, Drew," Harrison said, his hands on the steering wheel. I could see a playful smirk on his face. "Figured you needed the company!"

The girl turned her head to look at me, and I was simply blown away by her beauty. I smiled and nodded my head in greeting.

"Let's go, man, we're going to be late!" I was practically jumping up and down at the door, my shoes were on my feet and i had my wallet in my pocket. I grabbed a shoe and chucked it at James, who was currently sitting on the couch, chatting with his girlfriend. He held up his index finger, completely blowing me off for the umpteenth time. The shoe hit his shoulder and he jumped off the couch, picked up the shoe and chucked it right back at me. I dodged to blow and continued to wait at the door, my arms crossed. I looked at my watch impatiently. Quarter to seven. Fantastic.

I was going to be late for Hedley's concert.

A car honked its horn outside the door. I threw my hands above my head.

"Ill meet you outside, " I said, "The taxi's leaving."

I grabbed my jacket and walked outside, the cool mid-summer air seemed to cool my hot temper. I couldn't believe that James was blowing be off for is girlfriend. Again. I jumped in the cab right as the door opened and James ran out, stumbling along trying to tie his shoes and run at the same time, the phone still pressed to his ear. I shook my head and stared out the window, and waited for the drive to the concert to be over.

Finally, we arrived at the concert, and the line-ups were already extremely long. By the time we got through the doors, the pre-show had already commenced.

"You go get the seats," James said, turning around. "I'll get the drinks." I nodded and walked off in the direction of section 18.

I got there and took my seat right as Hedley was being introduced. The crowd was cheering, and almost everybody was on their feet. I found my seat and stood there, watching my favourite band emerge onto the stage. Beside me was a girl with brown hair, but she didn't seem quite so excited.

I felt somewhat entranced by her presence, as if she was drawing me in. I felt curious, I wanted to know her better, so I made an effort to make small talk. I had a strange feeling about her, and I really wanted to figure out why.
