QUIET, CALM, PEACEFUL. ISN'T IT HATEFUL ?

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock, although not experiencing any aches or pains yet, was beginning to to find his mind wandering as he plowed onwards, dirt sailing past his head. He kept thinking back to how easy this would be if he were a dog, with larger paws and a stockier build. He probably wouldn't first because he was a mere apprentice, but he did have energy and, yes, youth on his side. Not to mention his intellect, but he didn't see how much good that would do him in a dirt hole.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock, settling into a groove, almost didn't stop when he encountered his first obstacle. It was round, hard and large enough to make him need to completely change his course completely. The boulder had been buried smack bam in the middle, and, biting back a curse, he burrowed around it.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]It was only after he managed to move around the boulder that Sherlock stopped for breath, feline brow furrowing in irritation. This had been a pretty stupid idea. Cats weren't supposed to be underground. Cats belonged up where there was air and sky and open spaces, not in the damp, dark, and frankly rather gross earth. But he couldn't just turn back now, could he? After his breif pause the apprentice got back down to business, hoping the rock hadn't thrown him off course.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Now it was clearly visible on his face that Sherlock was more then excited. His pale eyes were wide and bright, and he eagerly began his examination of the body, seeming to forget all about the eyes in the ice. "Thank you, Baron. It's wonderful." 'Wonderful' was a very strange way to describe the smushed serval body, but in his eyes it was one of the best things he had ever laid eyes on. He had always had a fascination with bodies and what they looked like inside, and today was mostly just going to be a dissection of the feline form. Noticing the others observing for the first time, he asked "If you're squeamish I don't advise you stick around."

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock did his best to look enthused for the new Paladins, but his what just wasn't very good. He managed an odd smile and a mumbled congrats. However his mind was currently on other things, like dead bodies and frozen eyeballs. Somewhere inside he did feel happy for them, though. He also felt bad for Crow - there were quite a few other Paladins who were far less active then he was.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock suddenly began to feel enclosed. The faint light from the opening of his tunnel was now blocked by the boulder, and his pupils were completely dilated in an attempt to let in light. However there was almost none to let in - he could barely see the paws in front of his face. Shaking some of the dirt from his messy fur, he did his best to keep digging, optics squinted against the soil he was sending flying.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock shrugged, trailing after Baron and watched Maisie struggle up onto his back. He had done that once as well, when he was younger, but he didn't really intend on ever doing it again. Unless, you know, he needed to.

    [justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia][ perhaps Sherlock can accidentally tunnel into Maisie ? ]

Sherlock kept digging, now feeling rather frustrated that he had joined this competition. It was stupid, pointless, and probably dangerous. He could be dissecting a squirrel right now, and what was he doing instead? Probably condemning himself to suffocation. If his tunnel collapsed there'd be almost no way to find him, let alone save him before his lungs were filled with dirt.

Sherlock was now digging blindly, completely unable to see a single thing in the darkness. His paws were leading him now, following an instinct that he had no control over. So he was sort of unsurprised when he found that the dirt gave way beneath his paws and he tumbled into some other tunnel. His mouth filled with soil and he irritably spat it out, blissfully unaware that Maisie was probably about to step on him.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]"I'll just.. observe," came the British voice of Sherlock. He was too small and currently too untrained enough to assist much in catching deer or anything, but perhaps he could learn something from it.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Getting to his paws, Sherlock wondered if it was against the rules to use someone else's tunnel. He could hear a cat in front of him - perhaps Mosaic? - digging their tunnel smoothly. They hadn't noticed his entry. He took two steps in her general direction, brushing against the side walls to find his way. This was probably a terrible idea, but it would give him a moment to relax and maybe catch his breath.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Stumbling over his own paws in the dark, Sherlock let out a small meow. "Oh, hello Mosaic. I was just, I'm, popping by for a visit?" His excuse had an upward infliction at the end, almost as if he were asking himself that question rather then offering Maisie a reason. Well, she probably wouldn't mind. Some apprentices would probably get antsy and upset in a situation like this, and she would hopefully just use that as a legitimate reason.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]"Spot of tea?" was Sherlock's slightly dumbfounded reply, frowning as he wondered if she was somehow making fun of his British accent. "The only thing down here to eat is dirt, and I don't think I'll be partaking in that." The tom sat down, tipping his head as he did so.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]When bored, one could always turn to Sherlock. He could entertain you in some form, even if it was by grossly observing him cutting up a squirrel's liver. He was easily bored, and often did his best to fascinate himself with the creatures on Blizzardclan territory, or, more often, the creatures' insides. He had had one heck of a good time with Baron's slightly mushed serval body, and it's organs and other inner workings were preserved in glass bottles buried in the snow. He had even successfully managed to take out the brain, an accomplishment that he was very proud of indeed.

At this point in time he was moving the now empty form of the serval, a scene that wasn't very pretty, seeing as he had cut out it's guts and brain. However he didn't seem to mind as he carried it in his maw, waving his tail in silent greeting to Maisie.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock shrugged, a gesture that was made invisible by the blackness of the tunnel. "Yes, I suppose I will. Thank you for your conversation, ma'm." And with that the apprentice began a new tunnel right there on the side, squeezing through an opening the size of a rabbit hole.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Particularly pleased that someone had taken interest in his doings, Sherlock responded quickly and matter of factly. "I was going to try and skin the body so I can get a better look at it's muscles." He had never been able to get at anything like that on prey because of how small they all were, but the serval was large enough that he could probably do something with it.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Although Sherlock constantly didn't know what to do with himself, that didn't exactly make him good company. He enjoyed dead bodies, was rude, insensitive, and had a constantly growing ego. Not to mention he really didn't care what others thought if him, and if they didn't like him, then fine. It wasn't his fault he was a high functioning sociopath.

Today he was just sitting, tail curled across his paws and blue green gaze far off and distant. He was thinking deeply, a dangerous activity for him that should probably be interrupted as soon as possible.

[justify][fancypost bgcolor= ; bordercolor= ; borderwidth= 0px; width: 200px;][font=georgia]Sherlock decided to zone out while he dug, to perhaps distract himself from the annoying specks of dirt flying at him and the uncomfortable darkness. He kept thinking of all the fun stuff he had above ground, the body parts preserved in little glass jars beneath the snow. When he was done here, he would be able to go back to them and never think about digging again. Ah, that would be pleasent.
