As the lithe kitten grew older, the days seemed to go by faster and faster. The mornings went and came as she watched the warriors return from the dawn patrols, and the afternoons flew by while she ran around with her siblings. Soon enough I'll be old enough to do what the other apprentices do!, she thought, sucking in a deep breath before releasing it.
Nobody--not even her mother--was around at the moment, so the brown tabby decided to wander into the medicine cat's den, letting her curiosity get the best of her. She'd been in there a few times, mostly when she had kittencough, but she never got to see what Timescale did during the day while she was in the nursery.
Peeking her head in, her mint green eyes scanned the den. She didn't have to look far to notice the medicine cat sitting in the corner. "Hi there, Timescale," she greeted, skipping right into the center of the room. "Whatcha doin'?"

The feline giggled, marching her way over to the medicine cat. "Just sitting here, eh? Mind if I 'just sit' with you?" she asked, smiling. The kitten was quite shy around others her age, but she felt completely comfortable around the high positions and her parents. She knew she could trust them.

Okay, so maybe trying to follow the apprentices out of camp wasn't a good idea. After remembering Photostar's warning, the brown tabby had frozen in place before dashing back to camp. Luckily, she wasn't caught by a high position, but her mother was extremely unhappy with her. Glitterkit had been banned from leaving the nursery unless it was to go to the medicine cat den--she knew she'd take that opportunity to bother Timescale.
Paws weaving through the moss on the nursery floor, Glitterkit tried to keep her mind off her punishment. Is it just me, or does time go slower when you're waiting for it to come?, she thought, shaking her tiny head.
The three-moon-old kitten usually sat around bored, but she also knew that she could leave if she wanted to. Now that she knew that she wasn't allowed to leave, she wanted to.
