I laughed and then went a little faster just so I was a few feet ahead of her. I looked back a little to see her and then looked back forward. I sighed and walked along the street. Our town was quite, and any knew spread super fast. Almost every one knew about me. I walked into the local grocery store and had a list of things my mom wanted me to get. We tried to keep going and pretend things are okay and for her sake I try ten times harder. But I know it's hard for her. I sometimes can hear her sobbing in her room when it's really late at night, she doesn't know I hear her and I wouldn't say anything to her either. My dad hasn't really done anything, he still goes as if nothing happened, though he's not home a lot due to work.
I went towards the milk and eggs section. I grabbed a half gallon and a thing of eggs then a thing of shredded cheese.
I got everything else on the list them went over to the casher. I gave him the money and walked out with the two bags.
I started down the street ray was pretty empty except for a few lady's sitting on a bench, talking about some cooking show? I carried them down the street and then took a left and walked another two blocks to our house. Today was Sunday and tomorrow would be the first day of the school year. It is now my senior year but I know I won't be able to be there all the time like other years of my high school. I will have to go to chemo and tests and all the other stuff I hate. I hadn't had any symptoms from the radiation yet but I knew my hair was sure to fall out sometime, I'll probably end up wearing beanies and other hats a lot then.
I opened the door and walked to the kitchen, putting the things on the counter. I put them away and then went back outside. I decided to make my last free day outside. I had been depressed after finding out this information. Which isn't normal for me, all my friends know me as being a happy guy always putting a smile on my face and now no one can even put one on mine...
