hearing a voice, i blinked and looked over, nearly being tackled by a dog. cerberus tackled the dog before he got too close to me. the black wolf began to eat the dog, wolfing it down and snarling. i shivered and wiped the bloody swords on a small patch of grass before putting them in my backpack. urjurak whimpered and reached her head towards me. i grinned and crouched down, petting the large wolf's head softly. she was smaller than cerberus by an entire size, only about one times the size of a normal wolf, while cerberus was big enough to ride on. i pet the female wolf before cautiously picking her up. cerberus growled at the lion and the waving girl. i frowned and put urjurak down, putting the male wolf on a leash i found in a pet store. he snarled and bit, but i held the leash with my teeth and picked up the female wolf again. i jogged my way over to the red haired girl, dipping my head in thanks to the lioness. i approached the girl and grinned. "hi~" i greeted, my voice muffled by the leash. cerberus snarled and snapped and i kicked his leg. "stop it!" i commanded, setting urjurak down and yanking on the leash. he snarled and i crouched down, clamping my hands over his muzzle and forcing him to stop. "you listen and you listen good." i hissed quietly. "that lion saved your ass, this girl? she will be a good asset. she's allowing us into her territory. and this is a what? it's a store. store means dinner. but i don't smell any hotdogs so you better shut it." i snarled. he whimpered and laid his ears back, his tail falling between his legs. it made no sense, but i had stated my dominance over the beast. i stood back up and waved at the red headed girl. "hi!" i greeted again with a large smile.

i heard soft padding and i turned to see another girl coming forward, her hands on her dagger. i grinned and waved to her as well. cerberus growled and started for her, but i ended up tackling the wolf and sitting on him. urjurak whimpered and limped towards us, nuzzling my hair. i grinned and pet her head softly. "okay. the plan is..." i said to the two wolves. they stood at attention before sitting up straight, even the female wolf. "we go." i began, "and we eat some food, yeah? then we go!" i snapped, making urjurak's ears flatten. i smiled. "we go, back to the woods, then live out the rest of our days as... hermits!" i said happily. the two wolves wasted no time in beginning to howl in agreement. i grinned and howled with them. it may seem weird for a human boy to howl with wolves but... they were the only things that actually understood what was going through my head.

"stay here." i commanded, though she would go nowhere. i ran back up into the attic, grabbing all the dusty books and lugging them downstairs. i set them on the table in the kitchen and jerked my head to the room. i looked inside the store before standing up. cerberus immediately ran inside, not caring about the humans or animals anymore. the second he heard chicken, he had run inside, shoving his way past the doors. i looked down at urjurak and grinned, helping her up. "come on." i encouraged, jogging a bit ahead. she swayed for a bit and stood still, her ears flat. i smiled and waved my hands, pointing to the store. "you don't want that fatty eating all the food do you?" i grinned. she barked and hobbled over. i held the door open for her before running inside myself, finding cerberus to already be devouring some of the food. i went to the medical aisles and looked through it before returning to the corner of the store, grabbing some blankets. i wrapped the two wolves in the blankets, leaving the female wolf's leg exposed. i began to bandage it while the wolf slept peacefully, her brother snarling at everything that came close.

i listened to the girls' conversation as quiet as a mouse. yeah. i can be quiet. seems odd doesn't it? both of my wolves had long since fallen asleep so i was left to pet the female wolf's injured paw. i think it was broken when she was younger and healed funny. every time i try to find some sort of wounds, nothing has ever shown up. i continued to pet the wolf until the two girls went silent. i pricked my ears a bit before taking a blanket and placing it over the smaller wolf. cerberus was asleep in the corner, drooling and snoring so i stared at the wall for a bit before getting up and beginning to wander around. i found some expired candy and began to eat it, relishing in the sweet taste of chocolate. expired or not, candy as candy and i liked me some candy. i walked around the store, grabbing a new jacket and shrugging off my old, worn one. i slipped on the new leather jacket and continued walking around. dakota and soul huh? fancy names! i like them... well the names anyway. hard to like someone when you only know their names huh? even so, soul's animals saved our asses from being eaten by a rat so... i guess i can get used to them. might not stay with them forever; be kinda weird traveling with two girls right?

a growl sounded behind me and i blinked, holding the chocolate bar in my mouth and looking down. i broke off the piece in my mouth and chewed it silently, watching the lion. as it growled, i felt the urge to yell for cerberus, seeing as how i didn't have my knives on me. but then it started to try and put its head in my hand. i blinked and slowly raised the chocolate to my mouth again, breaking off a piece and eating that too. i lifted my hand and slowly stroked the lioness' head gently with a small smile. "hi~" i said quietly, rubbing the female lion's ears softly. "you're halo right?" i inquired, scratching the ears of the lion. "you're pretty..." i noted, cocking my head a bit and smiling a bit more.
