"Hey, Fernstripe!" mewed Mistystar cheerfully. "Do you know where Dapplestar is?" she pause. "Oh, how rude of me! This is Shimmerspruce. StarClan told me I would find her, so here she is."

"Well, I'll show Shimmerspruce around," Mistystar mewed. "Let me know if you see Dapplestar!" she turned away from Fernstripe.

"Oh, stop fooling around, Foxkit. Dapplestar has nine lives! Even if she had died, she'd have eight left! Mistystar mewed, but there was doubt in her voice.

"Thanks!" the small kit glowed with pride.

"What makes you so sure?" Mistystar replied, more frightened now.

"It can't be true! It can't! Why would she leave me? Mistystar wailed. "Why? She has to be alive she has to! I can't, won't believe it! What would I do without her? Dapplestar!" Mistystar cried, rushing out of the camp to look for her sister and friend.

"I'm not sure," Oceanstar replied. "Can you take me to him?"

Mistystar ran. She had no idea where she was going. Her paws thudded the ground as fast as her heartbeat, scaring away all of the prey. She found herself at GreyCliff, sniffing around for any sign of her sister. "Dapplestar?" she called. Her scent was defiantly here. "Dapplestar?" she shrieked. Mistystar followed Dapplestar's scent to the edge of GreyCliff. No, she thought. It can't be! "Dapplestar..." she sobbed. Mistystar jumped of the cliff and swam to the bottom, looking for her sister's body. There! She saw it. She grabbed hold of Dapplestar's pelt, and swam up with it. "Why?" she sobbed. "Why!" Mistystar carried her over to the Cave of Sparkling Stones, and buried her just outside the entrance. Good bye, Mistystar sobbed. She stayed there, by her sister's grave, all night in a vigil broken only by sobs.

Mistystar spoke for the first time science burying Dapplestar. "Who are you?" her new was shaky. She slowly stood up, and tried to concentrate on the present. But her thoughts kept drifting to Dapplestar.

Oceanstar stood, breathless. I've never heard of that happening before, she thought.

Mistystar padded back to camp. "I'll explain tomorrow." she mewed to Shimmerspruce and Gladeshadow. "Find yourselves a den." She hopped down into the River Cavern and walked to her den, where she curled up and longed for Dapplestar. She tried to cheer herself up, but the only other emotion she felt was anger. Why would she abandon me? Why didn't I even get a goodbye? She's visited everyone else as a spirit, but she's abandoned me! I'll never see her again! She may even avoid me in StarClan!

"I'm not entirely sure myself," the blue she-cat answered.

Emberheart glowed with happiness. StarClan hadn't abandoned us!

After a while, Mistystar decided she couldn't sleep. She got up and walked to the Cave of Sparkling Stones, hoping to find Dapplestar's spirit there.

"Well of course, Burningleaf. You are absolutely right. We mustn't get our hopes up.

"Let's hope so," Oceanstar answered.

"Dapplestar?" Mistystar's voice shook with sorrow. Mistystar looked around for any sign of the dead leader's starry pelt.

Ooc: I'm fixing ramen noodles and I just burned myself on the stove. Fail.
