She squeezed his hand lightly when Kharjo walked in. She couldn't meet Kharjo's eyes. Beric sighed and walked back to the car, looking defeated. He never expected this to happen.
-
Sure !
Layla headed towards the large theater classroom, a frown on her face. She had auditioned for the part of Cinderella, and she didn't know if she'd make it. The results would come out today. She was nervous and excited at the same time. She was still a little bummed, because Ethan had friendzoned her. He was clearing something up with someone else, and she understood that. She was still pretty bummed about it, mainly because now she was very awkward around him.
-
"...At the time, I was unemployed. I couldn't afford to give him the life he needed, so I had to give him away. I was also caught up in a lot of bad things. He would've been taken away from me either way, but putting him up for adoption meant he would be safe. I had to do what I could.... I think about him every day. I love him, and I'll never stop," she said, her voice cracking as she started sobbing.
-
"...Hi?" Layla said, looking confused. Why would he want to sit by her? She tensed up awkwardly. She didn't have many friends in theatre class- all of her friends were in her other classes. She glanced around, hoping for someone to save her from this awkward situation.

Amara nodded and wiped her eyes. She looked dejected. Beric was waiting in the car impatiently, tapping his fingers against the dashboard.
-
Beric pursed his lips. "...Ok." He said simply, with no emotion in his voice. "Okay," he repeated, processing it. So she was just trying to give him a happier life.
Amara hugged him back. She wiped her tears away as she took deep breaths to calm down. After awhile, she was completely calmed down. All that remained of her breakdown was her puffy eyes.
-
"...I'll go back in, I guess..." Beric huffed.
"Yeah," Amara said with a small smile. "Thanks," she said.
-
"I'm fine," she said quickly, smiling faintly at him. "Really." She said. The theatre teacher, Mrs.Wolfe, walking in the room with a large smile. "The announcement is here! Cinderella will be.... Layla, and Prince Charming will be Ethan!" She droned off the other minor parts that people got, and Layla felt her day get worse. It was bad enough she was laid off.... Even worse that they would have to be in love with each other for a play. A stupid, stupid play.

"I...I'll come back later in the week. Talk it out with her," Beric decided.
"I-I should probably get back to work," Amara said, smiling faintly at Tobin. "Would you like to get some drinks after work? I think I'll need them."
-
Beric kept quiet in the car, so many thoughts pouring into his head.
Amara nodded and left the room, going back to work. (timeskip?)
-
Later in the evening, when it was dark outside and work was wrapped up, Amara headed towards Tobin's office to get some drinks.
Beric sighed and was in his room.
-
"It's fine," she laughed humorlessly. "It's fine." She said, giving him a small smile. "I shouldn't have told you I liked you. I'm sorry."
