Zachariah watched Talia approach with a slight touch of amusement at her shivering. He paused to look around for just a moment, then back at the young woman. "Unseasonably cold, isn't it?" He noticed, gesturing toward the curio in case she wanted to get out of the wind. He doubted it showed much, but that part worried him a bit — he knew Aspen Creek well enough and weather this cold generally didn't bring anything good.

Talasee didn't give any hesitation when Alaina asked to come in, stepping aside and holding the door open with a cheerful smile. "Come on in! I'm making coffee, hot chocolate and tea, and the fire's up," she replied readily. If she noticed Alaina's attire at all, it didn't show. She didn't care to judge the girl; after all, people were strange in Aspen Village, each in their own way. It seemed to her that it would be unfair to judge another while not allowing judgement to be passed on her own self.

    ((Make it so!))

Tylan and Vysaera had since changed and were preparing for dinner, with more appeopriate garb and everything — Tylan in formal wear and Vysaera in a fine pale violet dress. They had left their dragons to fly and feed freely and were on their way to the dining hall.

Talasee nodded. "It's bitter out there, isn't it?" She exclaimed. In all the years she had grown up here, weather rarely got so cold. "I know a lot of the cabins get nasty in this weather. I'll be staying open tonight in case anyone needs to come in and warm up." Sje rearranged some wares absently, glancing out the window — the snow had started again. It looked almost as if Aspen Village would be snowed in by the end of the day.

Zachariah followed Talia in, taking a short look around the curio before standing up straighter. He didn't care for the charm shop, but a hot drink sounded wonderful as far as he was concerned. He had heard her mention staying open all night, and a frown shaded his expression for just a moment before he glanced out the window and dropped the look. "Perhaps you shouldn't," he suggested carefully. "I don't think we ought to be moving around outside this evening. It's going to be awfully cold." The words were plain and open enough — what was going on in his head, not so much. Are the knives sharpened? I have to make time for that. My hatchet. I spent all of yesterday cutting wood on that hatchet. Is anything I own at all in good enough shape to use in a pinch? If this place is open all night I might need to be here. How would I explain away carrying something like that into a place like this?

((Currently everyone's just starting into introductions. We have four people in the Curio for coffee and a few out in the street.))

Talasee had been watching Zachariah with obvious curiosity, but didn't ask what he meant; instead, she turned to the other two girls. "Drinks'll be $1.50 today," she announced. It was cheaper than usual, but she didn't mind; if people came in for drinks to get out of the old, they might look around at the curio too. "So what does everyone want? Coffee? Teas?" She went behind the counter, begining to work to get everything set up before popping up and yelling, "Catch!" And throwing a large wool blanket to the group.

Zachariah caught it, examining it for a moment. It was almost warm to the touch, and crocheted — no doubt something Talasee had made. He handed it off to Alaina in particular without a word.

Vysaera and Tylan arrived together, both looking rather taken aback when they spotted Terradoor. They said nothing though; dragons often bonded stringy with their riders and to see them together all the time wasn't exactly strange to either twin.

Tylan took a seat with Ellana on one side of him and his sister on the other. There wouldn't be mead, but there would be wine at the dinner — and he poured himself some now before turning to Ellana. "Would you like some?" He asked politely.

Tylan smiled with a nod. "Neither can I," he admitted, and would have elaborated had Terradoor not appeared then. He looked back at the dragon with slight surprise and obvious interest. He wasn't quite getting what the dragon wanted.

Vysaera leaned back as well, watching Terradoor with amusement. "I think he wants to take part in the festivities," she guessed with a grin.

Snowyn huffed irritably, then shrugged. "Well — when Ramsay asks I'll let him know where he can find a good source of contraband," she told him nonchalantly. "Either that or I suppose we'll need to use force. Cutting myself open isn't what I planned on doing today, but if I must, I will." Blatantly threatening now — Snowyn had learned not to shy away from physical force and no longer found bullying a shameful way to get submission if she needed to. It had been standard with her friends back in Orlais when they had been hunting demons.

"I wouldn't use the phrase friends," Lysander corrected. "With me is my sister and Aderyn, who I may consider a friend in a way. The other two — the feeling is either apathy or disdain. But never comradry." He stood then. "And there's no threat of this being a trap, or our being treated like enemies? I find myself to be rather weary of unknown planets and certainly don't trust them."

Lysander as quiet for several moments. There was a definite need to consider what he would say next carefully: surely the boy wouldn't have a clue as to what was actually going on with her but the less he pried, the better. Would it make a difference at all? He thought Finn may perhaps be looking for bodily injury should he imply that was wasn't. [glow=Lightblue,2,300]Why do you want to protect her? It makes no difference to us if something happens to her. [/glow]
No difference to you maybe. She's as close to me and Syl as we've found. And she has done something neither of us ever dared to.
[glow=Lightblue,2,300]Perhaps you ought to. Imagine what horizons might open to you.[/glow]
    No.
Lysander turned his attention back to Finn. "I thought she seemed a little off before the crash," he insisted. "Had some moments. Insisted she was fine, though."

"Is she going to be okay?" Sylvia cut in, leaning over the table to try and see what was happening. True, she was markedly less concerned about Aderyn's well being than her brother — but the girl was still hurt.
